The Mating ceremony

Isabella's Point Of View

It's been almost a week now, a week of peace in the Blood Moon pack, everyone here seemed more happy and hopeful for tomorrow. The monsters after me have surprisingly been on a decrease, ever since the moon's eclipse it seemed that they all gave up on getting me.

And with the eleventh and final blood moon fast approaching we all were hopeful because we found a way to escape the curse threatening to end the pack. Me!

The first part of the prophecy 'The Luna will be the pack's salvation' seemed to be coming true, the rituals to break the curse had already started. Dimitri had already marked me. We have already mated, what next was the mating ceremony. It was basically a wedding for werewolves, we exchanged vows and became one.

Breaking the curse wasn't still over, I have been working with the witches coven and with help from the weavers, we were trying to create the spell we needed to break the curse before the eleventh blood moon came. Weavers were witches who had been specially gifted with the ability to create spells. Every witch was born with specific gifts. Some could foretell the future, some were siphoners like Alexa and Dixie.

Although we celebrate, we know that darkness still lurks around the shadows and some darkness hides within. I stared at the dagger with the red circle inscription. There was still a spy sent by the red circle among us. I had told Dimitri and we shared this information with only those we trusted, we didn't want the enemy knowing our plans.

Celeste and some witches performed a spell to discover who the insider could be but whoever it was is heavily cloaked by dark magic, it was impossible to break. Agnes, one of Celeste's trusted witches, tried to go deeper to see the enemy's face but instead got her eyes burnt out. But at least she was able to find out that the red circle assassin was a man. Who could this be?

Tonight was our mating ceremony, and I couldn't shake off the terrible feeling I had. I felt like a disaster was riding on the horizon.

I would have liked it if the ceremony was postponed, but it had to be done tonight. It was the first full moon since the eclipse and it held a lot of power which was needed for our ceremony. And we couldn't put off doing it today because we were running out of time with the curse.

'How are you doing my Luna?' I smiled as I heard Dimitri's thoughts. Ever since the marking we didn't have any secrets between us because the mark gave me access to his thoughts and his to mine. So we usually spoke to each other using our thoughts.

'I'm doing great.' I blushed as I scribbled down the spell to break the curse that I have been working on. 'How is the best Alpha doing?'

'I'm doing fine. Lance and I are getting everything ready for the ceremony. Are you ready for tonight?' he said through his thoughts.

'Yeah, I'm as ready as I could ever be.' I pause thinking about the terrible feeling I have been having about tonight.

'What's wrong Belle?' Dimitri asks, he could feel my emotions, he knew that something had me worried.

'Nothing.' I jutted out.

'It isn't nothing Isabelle. I can sense something has got you worried. Tell me what is troubling you?' he persisted. Goddess, I couldn't lie to him.

'I have a terrible feeling about tonight. I don't know, maybe I'm just nervous about the ceremony that's all.' I confess.

'Maybe we should postpone this mating ceremony.'

'No, we can't really. We don't have a choice. To break the curse we have to --' I tried reminding him why having this tonight was important.

'I know but there's still an insider in the pack. We should postpone everything until we can catch who the assassin is, so the pack can avoid any more disaster,' he explains. He was right though, there was still an insider in our midst. No one in the pack was safe till he was caught.

'Don't worry too much, we are going to catch whoever it is and tonight is going to be great. We shouldn't live in fear because of the enemy.' I said.

'You are right. I'll talk to you later, goodbye my little witch.' He says before the connection goes dead. Whatever comes tonight, we will face it together. I sigh, touching the crystal pendant on my neck.

Night had already befallen us and the full moon sat high above the clouds, radiating in its glory and power.

I was staring at myself in the mirror, looking at the white dress I wore, it was chosen by Iris. It was a silky white gown that hung tight to my body, accentuating every curve. It was beautiful.

My blond hair was curled and most of it was kept in a bond while the rest fell at the sides of my face. I have only to thank Gemini for the hairstyling and the light makeup done.

"It is already time, Luna. Everyone is waiting outside." Gemini stopped by my room to tell me.

I took one deep breath, "Okay let's do this."

I went outside to find everyone in the pack already seated. It was a full crowd as everybody in the pack attended. I hate to say this but I was starting to get nervous going out there.

"May I?" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me. It was Gabe. He was putting on a black tux with a tie, his red brown hair falling forward to his face as he smiled.

He took my arm in his, interlinking it as we walked over to the decorated aisle and everyone seated stared.

"Thanks." I whisper.

"No need to thank me. Thank you's are so overrated these days." He joked.

"I was starting to get nervous about walking all by myself." I say.

"You shouldn't be nervous, Isabelle you are our Luna and we are your pack. Here we are all family.

You see everyone seated here they all love you and would gladly die for you without even thinking twice about doing it. We are one. So chin up Luna." He says, giving me the boost and encouragement I needed.

I looked forward and I could see Dimitri standing there, watching me in his black tux and bow tie. He looked handsome in his outfit as his raven black hair was combed to perfection.

"Thanks, Gabe." I told him as we finally made it to the altar.

"She's all yours Alpha." Gabe tells Dimitri before he walks off.

'You look perfect.' he says through his thoughts, making me blush non-stop.

'You look good too.' I replied, making him chuckle a bit.

'I had to put in a little effort just for you.' he thinks, almost making me laugh out loud.

"We have all gathered here tonight, to witness the unification of the Alpha and his mate." Gaia, the pack's eldest wolf says.

"A mating ceremony of Alpha King Dimitri Axel Castellan and Luna Isabella Rosa Santacruz.

Two distinct individuals. One a Lycan the other a witch but brought together by the moon goddess, bounding both of them to become mates.

Do you Isabella Santacruz, take Dimitri Axel Castellan to become your soulmate, to love, cherish and defend?" She asked, turning to me with a smile.

"Yes, I do." I smile, staring into my mate's eyes.

"Do you Dimitri Axel Castellan, take Isabella Rosa Santacruz to be your better half. To love, cherish and protect?" Gaia asked, now looking at Dimitri, who was still focused on me.

"I do!" He breathes out firmly, his gaze unmoving.

"You two may exchange your vows now." Gaia instructed.

"Isabelle, from the moment I first saw you at that coffee shop, you completely captured me. You showed me what it feels like to love without fear. You opened my cold heart and you gave me something to lose. Isabelle you loved me for who I am, not what I have done, you saw the real me and I promise to love and fight for you with every breath in me. I will continue to defend and protect you from anyone that stands against you. You are my everything, my little witch." I could feel my eyes water as I listened to Dimitri's words. It felt so genuine, so true and so romantic. I kept on falling deeper for this Alpha.

"Wow, it's going to be really hard to top that now." I said to him, "Dimitri, no words can really explain what you really mean to me. You are my life and my will for living. I have always wanted to find a place where I truly belonged and you gave that to me. The love you showed me is more than I ever asked for and I will continue to stand by your side even if the entire world doesn't allow it. You mean everything to me." I end my vows.

Dimitri was given a silver goblet and a knife which he used to bleed his palm, letting his blood flow into it. He gave me the knife and goblet and I did the same. After that Gaia took the goblet, raising it up to the sky.

"Blood is mixed to one. Two become one under the moonlight, uniting both souls…" she gave the goblet to Dimitri to drink, then it was given to me to drink.

I could feel a kind of strength ten times my own surge through my veins. It was as if everything around me became more heightened, I could see, hear and feel ten times than I could before.

It was Dimitri's Lycan blood that was flowing through me, I had him in my system. I was changing.

Every wolf seated there stood up, erupting into a loud howl. They could also feel the new charge of energy that was coursing through the air.

Gaia grinned with satisfaction. "It is done. I now officially pronounce you both Alpha and Luna. You may now kiss your mate." Everyone cheered and clapped, as Dimitri wasted no time in kissing his mate.

He kissed me with so much passion, it was a shame it had to quickly come to an end.

We stopped and stared up at the mountains, near the witches quarters as loud shrieks could be heard from a distance.

Something wasn't right. A dark presence was present in the pack and it was out for destruction.

Unknown person Point Of View

I fucking hate weddings, it always felt so cheesy and cringe to me. Why? Because both people in love look forward to hope for a happy and better life together, we all knew that was only a fairytale.

But funerals on the other hand, I happened to enjoy very much. The sound of people mourning for their lost ones is like music to my ears. I reveled in others' misery. And I was going to rain down misery on the Blood Moon pack tonight as they celebrated. My crimson red lips curl into a wicked grin.

I made my way into the witches quarters, killing any witches that stood in my path. The shock look on their faces before I snapped their necks with a twist of my fingers was priceless.

I made my way into the room where they stored magical objects, I went over to the vanishing cabinet and opened the doors to let my red circle in. They have been waiting for the perfect time for this.

One by one, the red circle's fiercest assassins came through the vanishing cabinet. They all had one mission to bring death to this pack

And they also brought with them a dark present for the happy couple, courtesy of Aunt Delilah. This present was my task to deliver, it was going to raise an army of undead, to take down the Blood Moon pack.
