The invasion

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Isabella's Point Of View

Loud shrieking could be heard from a distance, as dark clouds covered the mountain. Something was wrong, I could feel an overwhelming wave of darkness envelope the pack.

Something really dark was present in the pack.

The pack's warning bell rang. I have never witnessed it being used before but Gemini had warned me that it was used only in the gravest of emergencies. Mostly when there was an attack or infiltration within the pack. The incessant chiming only spelt danger.

I could hear Dimitri growl beside me.

"Intruders!!!" He roared. We could see hundreds of witches in red cloaks running from the mountains towards us.

The red circle. But how did they manage to get into the pack?

I looked around searching for the only person I knew could be responsible for this. The person I had my suspicion on for a long time.

Yennefer!

But she was out of sight, there wasn't a single trace of her. The entire pack was scattered in panic. Alaric and some of the pack warriors gathered, looking ready to go to war.

"EVERYONE KILL ALL INTRUDERS!!!" Dimitri growled, ordering the warriors. His suit already ripped to shreds as he started to shift into his lycan form.

"Dimitri --" I utter his name, holding onto his arm. Dimitri looked at me, his eyes burning bright red but filled with so much concern.

"Isabelle stay in the pack house, you'll be safer there." He says to me before running into the waging battle. I pay no mind to what he told me, how could I stay behind in the pack house when my pack is under attack? I had to fix all this mess.

I run, following behind him. A red circle assassin threw her pointy sharkram (a type of three edge weapon) at me as I quickly stepped out of harm's way. I ran towards the witch driving my dagger into her throat. I saw another one running towards me and I threw my dagger at her, striking her directly in the heart, whispering a little spell, my dagger vanished and appeared back in my hand.

I could see Celeste, she and the witches were busy fighting off the red circle's witches with spells, Lance, Gabe, Stefanie and Kael were also with them fighting in their wolf forms.

Soon I was surrounded by five red circle witches, they were all chanting a spell that caused my head to hurt as fuck.

I fell on my knees as they slowly approached me still chanting, their chants growing louder. My head felt as if it was going to explode, I could feel something within me beg to be set free. It was an energy, a powerful force that felt like a freaking time bomb, one which I didn't have any control of.

"El kar bi na onculos." I screamed those foreign words and instantly made all five of them start bleeding from their eyes and ears as they screamed out in pain. Soon all their heads exploded leaving behind a bloody mess. I stare at what remained of the assassins in awe of what I had done. The spell I just said was in a foreign tongue, one I have never come across. I didn't even know what it meant, but how did I just use it?

I was given no much time to think about what I just did, we were still at war and it just got a lot worse. The red circle witches summoned up a darkness within the pack.

They used dark necromancy magic to summon revenants. Revenants were dark ghostlike creatures, they were what remains of the souls of the dead but were tainted and possessed by dark energies. Their touch was so cold it could freeze up someone's beating heart.

I watched as the revenants attacked and killed the pack warriors, every attack thrown by the pack against them was futile. They were impervious to harm. The only thing I could do was destroy the source that brought this darkness. The darkness was coming from the mountains, something was generating the darkness from there and I had a good idea on who was behind all these, Yennefer. It has always been her, she was the enemy within, hell she went missing from the ceremony. It was all connected now.

I hurried to the mountain, snapping the neck of anyone that stood in my path. By a pillar of stones stood Yennefer in a black cloak. Her eyes are closed as she is chanting a spell, it seemed as if she was busy communicating with someone. A twisted smile finds its way to her face as her eyes flutter open.

"I have been expecting you, Isabella." She said, her purple eyes looked different. They were wild and dangerous, she had a wicked grin on, it was like she had been possessed by something incredibly evil.

"I wasn't sure you would join me but aunt Delilah was convinced you would come, she was right though. She is always right." My heart clenches as she mentions her name. The name of the woman who wrecked my life and murdered my entire family. I haven't heard someone mention her in years, I hated the name and the pain it brought to me.

"Where is she?!" I asked her, I could feel a huge amount of rage grow inside me. Could my aunt also be here in the pack? I wanted to come face to face with the monster that I have been running from my entire life. I wanted to face her and end it all.

"Cool down, Isabella. She couldn't make it this time but she promised to make it up to you, she sent a gift to you though. The Revenants, do you like them? Aunt Delilah sent it to congratulate you on your mating ceremony." Yennefer mocks, grinning. At this moment I just wanted to rip her and anyone who is associated with my aunt to pieces. I wanted them all dead, every single one of them.

"Allegerdá… fèsmatos… Incèndia." I muttered a spell, conjuring a ball of blue flame, aiming at Yennefer. It was sad that she was easily able to avert it. With just a wave of her hand she dismissed my ball of fire. How the hell was she a witch?

"You're a witch? But how? You made Gabe and everyone think that you were a wolf." I was confused, she smelt and felt like a werewolf. She even had everyone in the pack believing she was a rogue werewolf, even Gabe, her mate.

"I performed a spell to disguise myself so everyone would believe that I was a werewolf. And Gabe wasn't planned, I myself was shocked to discover he was my mate." She explained. "These days you shouldn't trust anyone."

"So you are Death. The witch that sent me the death threat." I said to her, Both of us were walking around in circles, both our eyes were fixed on each other.

"No, it wasn't me who tried to kill you that night, that was Death, trust me if I was the one you wouldn't have survived." She chuckled, as if thinking about something.

"Death? Who is that?" I asked, desperately interested in finding out the identity of the other traitor. There was someone else lying to us, one of the red circle's minions, helping them, and I wanted to know who it was.

"In fact that is one mystery I know is going to shock the hell out of you." She let out a wicked giggle. I was tired of all these games. Enough of the chit chat, it was time I killed this psycho bitch.

"Èxpellús…" I screamed sending Yennefer flying in the air, but she landed back on her feet gracefully with a grin. I flicked my wrist pushing her back hard against a rock, she let out a scream in response. I dropped her to her knees, focusing my magic on her putting her head in grave pain.

Yennefer screamed out in pain while I continued applying pressure on her mind. Just a little more and eventually she would give in and die a slow but painful death.

I could feel the air around get so cold I felt a chill run down my spine. Something evil was present, something very powerful and dark. It was cold and threatening. It felt like Death.

I let out a groan as I felt a dagger braze my arm. I was immediately thrown to the ground by an overwhelming energy.

I watched as Yennefer took the opening to inflict as much pain as she could on my mind. It felt as if a thousand fingers were peeling at my mind.

"My turn." She laughs. I saw a cloaked figure stand beside Yennefer. I couldn't see the person underneath the cloak.

"Look here, Death finally decided to grace us with his presence." Yennefer said, chuckling, holding me still with her magic.

The cloaked figure began to peel off his hood and I watched in anticipation who it identity was.

It was …It couldn't be… It had been him all along. I should have known.
