I killed my mate!
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
WE ALL RETURNED back to the pack, welcomed with a feast to celebrate the pack's freedom from the curse that has held us down for decades.
I personally was thankful that my friends were still alive. I was overjoyed when Dimitri had told me that they were all still alive; Stefanie, Kael, Gemini, Dixie⦠Iris. They were all fine and survived the Blackblood pack raid. Before I fell unconscious I had watched them all die before my eyes, but they were all fine, all of them healed and they had a lot to thank me for. I wasn't aware that I was powerful enough to cast a spell of that magnitude, a kind of magic performed on a wide scale like that was incredibly rare and almost impossible, but I did it.
There was still a lot about being the chosen one that I needed to fully learn about. I needed to know everything about being the moon goddess chosen one. I needed to be aware about all the things I was capable of doing as the Gifted one. I had to test the limits to the powers given to me by the Moon goddess, hopefully now that everything is finally over I will get the chance to explore my abilities.
For now I was on my way to the packs infirmary to check up on Diego and how he was recovering. On my way to the infirmary, passing the pack's training ground, I ran into Gabe, he was helping with the training of the young pups. He looked glum and I knew it was due to his mate's disappearance, he really did love her even after all the things she did, he still wanted to be with her. But Yennefer vanished with the Blood Moon, not even saying a word to anyone about where she would go. She was gone like a ghost leaving a hole in Gabe's heart.
I informed Gabe about all the brave things his mate did to keep him safe, and the help she provided in taking down my aunt. She loved him so much she dared to defy the woman who raised her. She was able to choose a new path, one free from Delilah's influence and control, and she did it all because of her love for him.
"Are you thinking about her again?" I joined him at the pack training ground, interrupting his train of thoughts filled of black hair and purple eyes.
"Yeah, is it that obvious" Gabe forced a smile as we both watched the young wolves in training.
Gabe let out a frustrated sigh. "I can still feel her. Deep in my heart through our mate bond, I can feel her. She is hurting just as much as I am for being away from each other. I want to run to her but I just can't understand why she chose to disappear like that. Why did she close to leave me?" Gabe frowned. It really upsetted him not being able to understand why she chose to leave him again. I think the wondering questions were what hurt him the most.
I stood there watching the Delta sulk-- I wish there was something I could do to make him feel better.
"Maybe she still needs some more time." I chirped.
"More time for what?" Gabe asked, turning to face me.
"To find herself before she is ready to face you. Maybe she needs this pain and time away to discover herself again." I conveyed my thoughts.
"So what do you advise that I do?" Gabe voiced, gazing at me.
"For now, all you can do is be patient with her. Wait for her to come to you and until then wipe that brooding look off your chin, it doesn't really suit you, you know." I playfully hit his shoulder, causing his face to brighten up with a smile.
I turned around, leaving his company. I smiled as I heard him yell out to me from a distance.
"Will do that, Luna⦠You're the best!"
Now that's much like the Gabe I know.
***
I arrived at the infirmary. Diego was sitting on his bed in a meditating position, his white hair were Long and loose, they cascaded around his face. He could sense my presence in the room.
"Rosa." He calls. That was my middle name, it's been a long time since I heard it. It felt nice.
"How are you doing?" I ask him, standing just a few feet away from his bed. He was rushed back to the pack's infirmary to heal and rest. The damage from Delilah's spell was fatal, the dark magic from her spell prevented his wounds from healing. Thanks to Dixie, she saved his life by siphoning out all the dark magic from his wound, and she nursed and healed him. For now he just needed to rest and regain his strength.
His eyes open slowly, as he turns to look at me. "I have felt worse--" he broke out in a raspy cough, he wasn't fully recovered. He was covered in bandages from his midsection and up to his right shoulder.
"Dixie said that you heal fast. You will be completely healed in a few days." I announced it to him.
"Don't worry, as soon as I am completely healed I will be gone." He said. Diego had made his intentions clear before. He told me that he wasn't going to stay for long.
"You know you don't have to leave-- You could stay here for as long as you would want. I spoke with Dimitri and he was gracious to accept you back to the pack." I tell him with a smile. I knew his mind was set on leaving, but I hoped maybe I could change his mind. I just got my only family back, I didn't want to lose him again.
"No Rosa, as gracious as that offer sounds, I will have to decline it. I can't stay back hereâ¦" he stood up on his feet, putting on his black robe. "Not after everything I did here while working for Delilah. I think that it would be too much." Diego remarked, his expression was full of regret.
I was fully aware about what it meant to be a member of the Red Circle, it entailed doing despicable things that you weren't proud of. It meant being responsible for countless deaths of innocent lives. But that wasn't his fault, he was manipulated by Delilah. All that really mattered was that he was different now.
"We all forgive you for that. And those things you did wasn't your fault Diego, you were manipulated by Delilah." I put forth.
"That doesn't change the things I did. Isabelle I'm Death, everywhere I go people die, everything I touch dies. It's a curse and my burden, I need to get far away from you before I damage you even more." Diego uttered. His words truly broke my heart, it broke my heart that he saw himself that way.
"I need you by my side Diego. I have been searching for my family for so long and I finally found you, I can't lose you now." I told him.
"You don't need me Isabelle, you already found your family, and they need you more than I do. Please just support my decision, Rosa." He says, his cold hands meeting mine, I held his hands tight.
Even if I didn't want to lose him again, there was nothing I could do but support him and let him find himself too. He couldn't forgive himself for the things he had done, I know he needed to find his own redemption by himself. All I can do is to give him my support and hope he finds his way back.
"Where do you plan on going?" I sniffle, mustering up a smile.
"I have been thinking about it and I would like to rebuild the Black Rose coven. I want to continue our family's legacy. I will have to move to our home in New Orleans where our ancestors were buried. And I will need to find any surviving descent from the Black Rose circle." He disclosed. This was a good step, I was proud of what he wanted to do.
"That is a good thing Diego. Our family would be very proud." I spoke. What he planned on doing was nice, it was a good cause. The Black Rose coven was the only coven dedicated to protect the world from all supernatural threats. They were warriors against darkness and the world certainly needs their protection.
"Thanks Isabelle. During my time with the Red Circle, we released unearthly creatures to this realm, I need to right that wrong." Diego sighed.
"Don't worry primo, if you ever need my help I'll always jump in to help." I assured him.
"Thank you." He whispered as we hugged.
"Luna." Lance called as he walked in, he came by to deliver an urgent message. Something was happening in the pack.
"Lance, what's wrong?" I ask with curious eyes. Something must be happening for him to come to find me like this.
"There are some unwanted guests at the North border." Lance answered. His eyes conveyed the urgency of the situation.
"Let's go." I say, leaving Diego behind in his room.
I got a distress signal from the mind link. It was coming from Kael. The unwelcomed visitors were Alphas of some of the largest packs in the world. So what were they doing here at our pack? Was this because of the war Dimitri started when he killed Valor and burnt down every pack in alliance with Rafael. I was afraid that this would start a much bigger war against all of the werewolf kind.
I arrived at the pack's northern borders to find Dimitri there, Gabe and Kael were with him, as well as other numerous pack warriors. The air was tense and stiff, as they growled in hostility at the intruders.
I went and stood next to Dimitri, watching the three Alphas that intruded on our pack territories.
"What do you want?" Dimitri asked sternly, causing the three Alphas to tremble at his presence.
"I am Alpha Mathias, of the Trinity pack." He bowed lowly at Dimitri and I. The Trinity pack was a large pack in France. They had one of the biggest territories.
"I am Alpha Dorian, of the mystic pack." The other man with long brown hair quickly introduced with his head bowed.
"I am Alpha Tunde, of the ilé ifé pack---" the third Alpha began but was stopped abruptly by Dimitri.
"I know who you all are. The question was what the bloody hell do you want?!" Dimitri growled threateningly, his red eyes flaring dangerously with authority.
"Supreme Lycan Alpha!" Mathias bellowed as he fell on his knees, bowing down before Dimitri.
The other two Alphas followed his lead, both referring to Dimitri as Supreme Alpha. First they invade on our pack's territory and then they bow down, they were really sending some mixed signals here.
"We came to ask for you, the last lycan Blood to ascend as Supreme Alpha King of the wolves. Ever since Valor's death and with his crime and betrayal against the royal lycan family exposed. The wolves need a Supreme ruler, you are the last existing royal lycan blood, please we await your rightful ascension to the throne as King of the Wolves. We are here to pledge our loyalty to you. Our packs are yours and our blood is yours to bleed." Mathias finished, unmoved from his spot on the ground.
Dimitri walked over to him, raising the Alpha from the ground. "Rise Mathias." Dimitri said.
"Go and spread the word that I, Dimitri Axel Castellan, the last remaining lycan, accepts to ascend his throne as the Supreme Alpha King. Go and spread the news to every pack and every wolf." Dimitri said with a grin.
This was amazing, Dimitri was going to assume his birth right and finally lead the werewolf kind to greatness. This was surely going to be a new dawn for werewolves.
Suddenly I began to feel dizzy, my vision became blurry white and I knew I was being captured in a vision.
It was about Dimitri.
In my vision I could see him standing before me in a black long coat, looking at me with his stunning smile in place but shortly his bright smile faded and his expression was replaced with one of agony. He was bleeding out profusely from his chest. There was a silver dagger stuck right in his heart.
My mouth agape as I stare in horror.
"No, no, no, noâ¦" I utter repeatedly, my eyes filled with tears.
Dimitri stared at me, his brown eyes gleaming, as he tried calling out my name but he couldn't speak.
He stumbled down to the ground in a pool of his own blood, his eyes still fixed on something behind me.
His eyes were fixed on the person responsible for his unfortunate predicament. The one who caused his demise.
I turned slowly around to see who it was.
I shudder at the sight, taking a step backwards. My eyes couldn't believe who I saw.
I could feel my heart beat slow down, counting it beats as if something impeded it from working.
"No, it can't be!" I managed to bring it out of my lips. "It couldn't be."
I revulse at the sight of the person before me.
It was â¦
"Me⦠I killed my mate!" I breathe out in a whisper. I was in shock as I stared at a version of me in my vision. I was in a long white flowing gown, covered in crimson blood, smiling in horror.
My aquarium blue eyes were replaced with a green bright light that reflected pure evil.
I stumble back to the ground, my head feeling a drumming pain from what I was looking at.
It was me...
I killed Dimitri.
I killed my mate!
