Darkness rising

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Isabella's Point Of View

Today was going to be a good day!

The sun radiated brightly and the weather was beautiful, everything was almost peaceful for once-- well almost. There was still a lot to be wary of, including the reoccurring dreams that had been haunting me whenever I closed my eyes. The visions of Dimitri getting killed by me wouldn't let me be, they kept intruding in my thoughts every now and then. No matter how hard I tried to forget about it, it lingered.

Honestly I didn't know what to make about these visions or who to tell so I kept it to myself for now. It wasn't the right time to bring up something as insane as that, I knew I would never hurt my Dimitri, I loved him too much and would rather see myself get hurt. For now we had an event to plan.

It has been three days since the Alphas came by to ask for Dimitri to ascend the command as Supreme king Alpha of the wolves. The pack was in a joyous mood as everyone was getting everything ready for the coronation ceremony that was happening that night. There was a lot to plan and arrange to welcome the guest coming tonight.

Alphas from various packs, far and wide were going to be attending, some had already started arriving to be part of the ceremony. It was a marking of a new era for werewolves, a new reign under the rightful Lycan heir, this was going to grant all packs favor from the Moon goddess.

Tonight Dimitri will be known as Supreme Alpha King of the werewolves and I will earn the title as his Queen Luna. Today was going to be a really good day and I intended to ignore all the constant dread I felt deep in my soul.

There was still a lot we needed to be prepared to accommodate the vast amount of guests we were having tonight. Some guests would be spending the night in the pack so we had to get ready various guest rooms to host them.

At the moment, I was with Gemini at the ballroom, helping out with the arrangement and decoration of the entire event. Everything needed to be perfect for tonight's ceremony.

"Luna, where should I leave this?" Isaac inquired, carrying a large flower vase that covered half of his face. After the war with the Blackbloods and his pack destroyed by Rafael, Isaac was initiated into the Blood Moon pack and he was settled in spontaneously.

"Hi Isaac!" Gemini chimed with her brightest smile in place, it was something I noticed happening anytime Isaac walked by. Her eyes seemed to brighten up whenever he was around.

"Hey Gemini…" Isaac beamed back, both of them falling silent, just lost in one another's eyes.

"Hey... Isaac..." I waved at him to get back his focus which was currently stolen by Gemini. I think there is something going on between both of them. They like each other

"You can just leave the flowers with the others around the pillar." I told him,

"Right!" He nodded, smiling sheepishly, as he walked away from us. Immediately I turned to Gemini.

"You like him." I whispered to Gem as soon as Isaac was far away from earshot. Her face instantly flushes bright pink.

"Nooo…" she lies avoiding my eyes. "Was it that obvious?" She finally admits, blushing.

"Yeah it was, both of you were making love eyes at each other. You two literally couldn't take your eyes off each other. And from what I just saw he is clearly into you too." I told her, nudging her shoulder.

"You really think so?" Gemini asked, her eyes sparking with some new hope.

"Yes Gem. You are so pretty and smart any guy would easily fall for you. You should go and talk to him." I hinted with a smile.

"No, I couldn't." She blushed even harder.

"Why not? You two obviously like each other so go for it. You can tell him tonight at the coronation during the fireworks."I suggested that it would be such a great and romantic opportunity.

"Okay, I'll do it!" Gemini finally gave in.

Just look at me playing the love doctor. It was a surprise how much I had grown to love the word 'love'. A year ago I didn't even believe in the word love or if it even existed until I found my mate, Dimitri. Now I realize how wrong I was, love was indeed real and stronger than any magic I had ever witnessed.

I still couldn't believe all the storms we overcame with our love, we literally proved that love truly conquers all. I just hope our love will conquer it all to the end. That's why the vision scared me the most.

I had to admit, the premonition I had terrified me and kept me up all night. The vision of me killing Dimitri was frightening to me, more frightening to me than anything I have ever felt before.

I hoped that my visions were false but deep down I knew just like the others I had in the past came true, this was written in our future, but not if I can stop it.

I went to the witches quarters. There wasn't anything I could do but I had a plan that could change our fate. In my vision, I was pulsating with very powerful magic, so I intended to bind my magic using a magical binding bracelet.

I didn't know what was happening to me but with my magic binded at least I wouldn't be a threat to Dimitri and the people around me. With my magic binded maybe my vision will be averted.

I found a binding bracelet in the witches armory, this would work to keep my powers contained. I put it on my wrist and I could feel my magic chained. I couldn't access my powers once again. I hated feeling powerless but I knew that this was for the best for now until I can figure out what to do about my vision.

"Luna." I heard a female voice call. I turned around to meet Celeste, she was wearing her usual black cloak, her curly brown hair spilling out.

"What are you doing here?" She asks. I could ask her the same thing, what was she doing in the armory?

Her dark eyes fell on my wrist where the bracelet circled.

"Why are you binding your powers?" Celeste brows furrows. I struggled for a second whether I should not tell her the truth about my vision, but I gave in to my better judgment. Celeste could be trusted and she had proven to have a lot of knowledge about magic.

"It is a precaution." I vaguely say, earning raised eyebrows from the witch. "Celeste, I had a vision." I finally admit.

"What vision? Tell me everything that you saw." Celeste says her tone is more urgent and stern.

"In my vision I was flowing with so much magic and I killed Dimitri." I said and she didn't seem at all surprised, in fact it seemed as if she was expecting me to say the exact same thing.

"Why aren't you surprised?" I inquired, watching her puzzled about what she knew.

"I knew something felt wrong. Early this morning I was in a deep meditation at the mountains and I noticed something strange. I could see darkness in the clouds rising over the pack. The animals in the forests were dying, and their blood was stained black as if poisoned by Darkness. Something terribly wrong is happening, something dark and evil is coming to the pack. The Dark one." Celeste tells me, her dark eyes spelling nothing but danger.

"That's impossible." I say puzzled, "I stopped the Dark one, I closed the prison world before she could get out." I added

"Are you sure Luna? Are you sure the dark one didn't get out? Nature always leaves a loophole." Celeste asked again. There was no way Namek could have escaped, before the ritual to set out of her cage was finished I closed the portal. She is still trapped there.

"I- I'm positive. I sealed the prison world before she could escape or possess anyone. She couldn't have escaped." I held the black onyx pendant that hung on my neck.

"Then maybe she is trying to reach into our world through you. All these ominous signs are caused by her, and maybe she is trying to trick you with these false visions." Celeste says.

"That means she is looking for a way into our world. Luna, it isn't safe for you to be with the pendant, give it to me." She urged, stretching forth her palm. I stared at her palm trying to decide if giving it to her was the right choice.

"I can't..." I told her. I couldn't give the pendant to anyone. The pendant is my family's heirloom, it belonged to the Santacruz bloodline and now it was mine to protect. I couldn't give it out to anyone no matter what.

"I'll hang on to it. If Namek is really trying to reach out I'll take care of it." I maintain.

"Very well then. The pendant is a cross that only your family can carry." Celeste held my hand right closely. "But you need to hide away the pendant, because if the Dark one truly gets out she will first come after it.

There are things far worse than the Darkness trapped in there. Things she would be happy to unleash into our world. No matter what, she cannot get her hands on the pendant." Celeste warns.

I quickly get out of the witches quarters. I needed to be far away from everyone so I could think. I went up to the balcony, the sun was already setting into the sky, the ascension ceremony was going to begin soon.

As I stared at the orange sky, counting my breaths and replaying over Celeste's words in my head. I needed some time to collect all my thoughts and figure out what to do.

I felt an icy presence join me in the balcony, and I instantly knew who it was. It was Diego, I had gotten used to the cold aura that followed him. He was in his usual black, his white hair slightly covering his left eye a bit. He was now up on his feet, it was nice seeing him much better and back to his usual self. He had told me that he would be leaving the pack tomorrow, he was only around because I asked him to stay for the ceremony.

"It is a beautiful view, Isn't it?" I ask him as we just stared far off into the sunset.

Diego nodded, "It feels warm." He adds, staring out. "It feels nice."

I draw in a deep breath, thinking about everything Celeste had just told me.

" lI notice you binded your magic. What's wrong?" Diego asks, turning to me.

"I have a favor to ask of you." I face him, looking into his eyes.

"Okay, what is it?" He hums, his eyes trying to figure out what was going on in my mind.

I took off the onyx pendant and handed it to him.

"I need you to hold onto this for me, for the meantime." I told him.

Celeste was right, the Dark one must not get the pendant, if she was trying to reach me, I couldn't trust myself to protect it. But there was no one I trusted to keep this safe for me other than Diego, he was a Santacruz too, this was his legacy too.

"Why are you giving me this? It is yours, aunt Amelia passed it down to you to protect." He responds.

I didn't know how to explain why I was giving it to him. Diego didn't ask me any further questions, he just took the pendant, wearing it around his neck, tucking it inside his robe.

"Don't worry I will keep it safe for you." He assures.
