Stupid human!
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
I was awakened the next morning by rays of the morning sun, Isabella's Point Of View
I was awakened the next morning by the warm rays of the morning sunlight, seeping in through the slit from the window curtains.
My eyes fluttered open as I drew a long sigh. This was another day being a prisoner.
Although I knew I was only but a prisoner here, I couldn't deny how comfortable it was spending the night here. The bed was so soft and comfortable, it was definitely of high premium quality and definitely better than the previous ones I had been used to, I felt like laying in it forever.
I heard footsteps approaching my room. Someone was coming.
There was a gentle knock on the door before it opened causing me to jerk up the bed instantly in the direction. My eyes stared at who it was. It was a girl, about my age or maybe younger. She had jet black hair and bangs that contrasted brilliantly with her grayish eyes. She was putting on a blue floral dress and she had a tight lip smile on her face as she watched me.
"Oh, you're finally awake. Good morning, my lady." She beamed widely with a low bow, her actions right now were confusing me. Why was she being so formal to me like I was a guest or someone worth treating with respect. When in fact, I was clearly only a prisoner here.
She dropped a long leather bag on the arm of the couch in the room as she drew near me.
"Uhh-- Good morning." I murmured, shaking my head.
"Sorry, who are you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She seemed so sweet and nice, how the hell did she get entangled with these mafias. They were dangerous and we're probably keeping her here against her will too.
"My name is Gemini. I was assigned to attend to you by Master Dimitri. He told me to get you fresh clothes for today. I didn't really know what size you used so I just went using mine. But don't worry I have a feeling it's gonna fit you perfectly." She explained, pulling out numerous clothes from the leather bag. I was surprised to see that they were all from luxurious brands.
So that rude jerk was the one that sent these clothes. Wow, that was thoughtful of him considering he attacked me and called me his prisoner last night. He even claimed me like I was his property, was this some sort of his way of apologizing?
"Thanks and please no need to be so weird with me, just call me Natalie. There's no need for the formalities." I gave her a small smile. I was getting really uncomfortable with the formalities.
"Okay-- Natalie." She smiled before adding. "Breakfast is about to be served and if you need anything else please let me know." She hurried for the door, leaving me alone. She seemed genuinely nice, how did she get mixed with a man like Dimitri. That man seemed to have a power to hook and enchant anyone, he probably lured her in with deceit, he was dangerous, every moment I was around him left an unexplainable longing for him.
I had to escape him as fast as I could for my own good.
I quickly took a warm shower, enjoying the way the warm water felt on my skin. After I was done taking my bath, I got dressed in the clothes left for me by Gemini. It picked a gray crop top that left my belly button to be seen, thank god my wound was almost healed and there weren't any visible scars left around my stomach. The jeans were a bit tight around my hips though, but it was all good.
I leave my room, wandering around the huge castle. Unlike last night, today there are a lot of faces going in and out.
I see many people buzzing past me, not saying anything to me but doing their own thing with each other. Some of them that took their time to look at me gave a courtesy bow which was kinda weird. I felt weird because I have never had people bowing down to me before, not that I ever wanted anyone to. Why were they being so formal with me?
My stomach's grumblings were growing louder. I follow the sweet and savory scent, guiding me to the kitchen.
Some kids were running, laughing away from the kitchen in which an older man was chasing them out of the kitchen. I quickly sidestepped out of the little kids' way, smiling at them.
"You guys can't eat the raw cookie dough!" The man wearing a chef's hat called out to the children who paid no heed. A distinct southern accent is prominent in his words. He then notices me and frowns. "Who are you?"
"Natalie," I answered him with a smile.
"Luna. I'm Seth," the man spoke, jutting out his hand towards me. "It's nice to finally meet the Alpha's special guest." I'm taken by surprise about how everyone is treating me like I was some special guest when I was in fact just a prisoner here against my own will. Why were they all welcoming and nice to me?
"It's nice meeting you too, Seth." I smiled. People around here were too nice, well that was except for that jerk Dimitri, the egoistic king.
"Dad--" a girl around my age with long blond hair and big green eyes came into the kitchen and stopped speaking when she noticed me. What was she about to say before she saw me? Her eyes narrowed into slits, throwing daggers of questions at me. "Who are you?" She asks
"Alexa! This is no way to speak to the Alpha's guest," Seth scolds his daughter--Alexa--giving her a look that seemed to convey a lot deeper message in it
"So she is Luna?" She gave a surprised but cheerful smile, as her eyes sized me up. "Sorry for being rude, I failed to recognize who you were. I'm Alexa by the way." She introduced herself. She seemed pretty okay, she seemed to have a saucy attitude but seemed genuinely kind. I think we would get along swimmingly.
Fuck! What is going through my head right now?
I shouldn't be thinking about getting along with any of them, I needed to be focused on getting out of this prison I found myself in. Yes, I needed to leave this place as soon as possible, for both mine and their sakes.
"Oh don't worry, it's okay. My name is Isa---I'm Natalie!" I say, quickly correcting myself.
'Nice save Isabella' I thought to myself sarcastically. Hope no one suspects a thing. For now I was still Natalie.
"Dad, do you know where Dixie went?" Alexa asked, looking at Seth.
"Yeah, she's with Celeste at the cemetery," Seth responded. A cemetery? Why would they have a cemetery?
"See you around Luna." And with that Alexa was gone. Why was everyone calling me that name?
"Luna, you can go to the dining room, breakfast will be there in a minute." Seth smiled at me and I heeded his words, making my way out of the kitchen.
I made my way to the grand dining room, sitting in the chairs where Gabe, Lance and king douchebag Dimitri sat. He was putting on a gray suit and white shirt, which wasn't fully buttoned.
I noticed that the three of them were busy talking about something, well that was before I walked in. Immediately I walked in they all went mute.
"Morning, Natalie." Gabe said with his usual high voltage smile. The guy literally never frowned, and I won't even deny it, his smile was contagious.
"Good morning." I said taking a seat besides Lance, who also greeted me with a slight nod. And Dimitri just continued sipping on his coffee, going through his phone, acting like he didn't notice my presence.
Breakfast were pancakes and bacon, the tastiest pancakes I had ever had, if I might add. I made sure I ate till my fill.
After breakfast Dimitri left. I had no idea where to but when I asked Gabe he told me he had official business matters to attend to. I wonder why they were so cryptic with their answers. They all made sure not to give too much information to any of my questions, always keeping it more or less vague.
I just stayed in my room till the sun went down. I needed to conserve my energy if I wanted to get out of this prison. I could feel the shape shifter's poison wear off from me, soon I would be well enough to access my magic, then I would leave.
I could hear shuffling and rustling coming from my room's door, someone was busy sliding a piece of paper beneath it. By the time I opened up the door it was already gone leaving behind a sheet of paper. There was a note written on it
'Meet me by the top balcony!!!' the note read.
I will admit this, my curiosity was piqued. I wanted to find out who left this for me to find.
I went to the balcony to meet whoever left the note, but there was no one there. It was empty. Whoever slipped the note must have thought they were really funny. But I wasn't mad, not at all. The view at the top balcony was quite beautiful. I could see the stars and moon shine eloquently, this felt refreshing.
"Breath taking isn't it." I heard a familiar male voice say from behind me. Instantly I knew who the voice belonged to, It was Dimitri. He was still in this morning outfit but without the suit, the sleeves of his shirt were folded tight towards his elbow. I couldn't explain this thumping feeling I always got whenever he was near me. I felt tingles buzz all around my skin and my heart beat hardened in my chest. I couldn't escape this effect he was having on me. I shouldn't feel this way towards him, I should hate him because he was the jerk keeping me here against my will.
"Yeah it is." I said, not taking my eyes off the view before me. For minutes, we just stared at the moon together without saying any words, just taking in slow breaths.
"I'm sorry." I heard him whisper under his breath, shocking the bloody hell out of me. Was the king of ego apologizing to me?
My eyes widen as I turn to him. He was staring at me too, with those deep brown eyes of his. I felt completely naked under his gaze, like he could see every single thing about me, like he could peek into my soul and take a look at everything underneath.
"About yesterday... I was just having one of those days and I know that isn't an excuse, I should have never acted like that towards you." He says, so honestly, so true, looking me deep in the eyes. There was something about him, something really different. Something that made me feel vulnerable around him.
"Don't worry, it's okay. I already forgot about that." I spill, quickly looking away from him. I needed to get a hold of myself around this man, before it's too late and I end up doing something that I may regret.
"Good, I also wanted to give this back to you. I found it was beside you the day I found you in the forest." He said, pulling out my binding bracelet from his pocket.
Oh my god! He was with it all this time. I quickly took it from his hand, a smile of gratitude drawn on my face.
"Thank you! Thank you so much Dimitri." I wasn't able to stop myself this time before I wrapped him in a tight hug. I could feel him stiffen in surprise while he circled his arms circle around my waist.
I quickly found the strength to break away from his embrace "I thought I lost this." I put it back on my wrist, I could feel it vibrate with energy. At least for now I was safe. The monsters or the Red Circle couldn't track me while I wore this.
"Does it mean this much to you?" He asked me, looking deeply surprised by my actions.
"You have no idea." I laughed. "Again, thanks for returning it back to me, I thought I lost it."
"What makes it so special to you?" He stares at me for a moment, resting his elbows on the balcony's ledge. I face him again and the look in his
eyes completely captivates me.
"It belonged to my mom. It was the last thing she gave to me before she died." I smile, looking back at the moon.
"When I'm with it feels as if she was here with me, protecting me." I added.
"Hmm. Do you miss her?" He asks, his eyes still regarding me with a look I couldn't discern.
"Yes, a lot. I miss her presence so deeply that it hurts." I tell him with a melancholic sigh.
Dimitri looks over at me with a thoughtful expression "Does having this bracelet help to lessen the pain?" He asks.
I nod a bit. "Yes, just a little. The pain from losing a loved one never really goes away---It lingers." I say, my eyes watching the shining stars and moon.
We stayed at the balcony for what felt like an eternity, without saying anything to each other, just moon gazing in unspoken silence.
"Well, good night and thanks for returning back my bracelet." I bid him farewell before leaving.
I left the balcony and headed for my room, feeling deeply relieved and happy for the first time in a while.
Only to be greeted by a peculiar blond in a tight black dress "Who the bloody fuck are you and why were you wrapped all around my Dimitri?" She screamed, scowling at me.
Her eyes stared at me furiously as she gave me a disgusted look. Who the hell was she? From the looks of things she may be Dimitri's girlfriend or something like that.
I couldn't explain why the thought of him being with another woman--this woman-- made me sad. He wasn't mine and he could never be, I needed to get him off my mind.
"Can't you speak anymore, or have you suddenly gone dumb?" She spat venomously at me. "You seemed really chatty when you were practically throwing yourself at him just now. Who the hell are you to him?"
I just stared at her as she spoke. So she saw us on the balcony. She got the wrong impression but I didn't have the time nor the patience to explain it to her.
"I can assure you that I'm not Dimitri's little whore, if that's what you are worried about." I shrugged, rolling my eyes at how pathetic this was. I hated confrontations, mostly if they were about a man. It just felt unnecessary to fight all because of a man.
"And you expect me to believe that." She hissed at me. This was getting really annoying. If she doesn't trust him that's her problem, All i ask is not to be dragged into her madness.
"Believe whatever you want, I don't care!" I shot her a disgusted look as I walked away down the hall but she followed. She pulled my hand, spinning me around to face her.
"Stupid human! Listen here, Dimitri is mine, just mine alright. He belongs to only me! And I don't want to even see you around him, you do not even dare to look at him!" She screamed, glaring at me like a lunatic, she was trying to intimidate me but she just sounded crazy.
"Gosh, you're so annoying," I laughed, rolling my eyes. "No wonder why he only fucks you." I admitted to her.
Suddenly, I felt a sting on my cheek. This crazy bitch had just slapped me. I looked up at her, seeing her smile triumphantly. I couldn't help but smirk. This bitch didn't know who she was messing with.
"This is the real difference between me and you. I know when fighting you don't slap, you punch first." I said, immediately sending my fist colliding with her jaw, not even seconds after.
She stumbled back as I threw an uppercut breaking her nose.
Blood spewed from her nose profusely, as she screamed out in pain. Dimitri arrived, coming from the balcony. He stared with shock at the bleeding Blondie on the floor, crying, then he stared back at me. I stared back at him. "She slapped me first." I shrugged. He gave me a look accompanied with a proud smile.
"You can leave. I'll handle this." His husky voice said and I just nodded along in agreement. I couldn't stand the unnecessary drama this Blondie was putting up, I didn't even hit her so hard. Okay, maybe just a little hard, but that would teach her a lesson not to mess with me ever again. But this also taught me a lesson, Dimitri couldn't be mine. As much as it pained me to admit he belonged to that crazy lunatic, not me.
