Chapter 70

The END?

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Isabella's Point Of View.

"Come back to me, Isabella," I heard a familiar voice plead, echoing through my mind as I sat amidst my family and coven, about to embark on a ritual that would link my powers with theirs. My brows furrowed, and a perplexed frown tugged at the corners of my lips.

"Mom, did you hear that?" I asked, turning to my mom.

"I heard someone calling my name," I pressed, my gaze darting from one coven member to the next. "It sounded urgent, almost desperate. Are you sure you didn't hear anything?"

"Hear what dear?" My mother responded with a face stiff smile and an uneasy silence fell over the room. She exchanged a knowing glance with my father, and I felt a chill slither down my spine.

"You need to fight this Isabella! You are stronger than this Darkness." The familiar voice said again. The desperation in the voice, as if the speaker were fighting for my very survival, stoked a deep-seated sense of unease within me. A throbbing ache began to pulse in my chest, a tender longing for a connection I couldn't quite place.

My fingers curled into fists, and I resisted the urge to scream in frustration. Why couldn't I remember this voice? Why was my family so reluctant to discuss it?

"Who's that voice calling my name?" I demanded, my tone taking on a sharper edge. The entire room fell silent and they all stared at me with careful eyes. Something wasn't right here. It felt like there was an essential part of me that I was missing.

"It's okay Isabella. You are safe here with your family." My mother assured, her tone sounded frightening and dangerous.

"Isabella! I know you can hear me, no matter what happens don't give up. You can fight this!" The voice boomed again.

I could feel an electrifying but pleasant sting coming from the side of my neck. I instinctively reached for the spot on my neck that now pulsed with an insistent electricity. As I ran my fingertips over the spot, I felt the jagged edges of two puncture wounds. They were deep, as if something had latched onto me with a ferocious hunger.

My heart rate quickened, and a sense of understanding washed over me. There was no denying the familiar feeling that now coursed through my veins.

This bite mark was special, the scar carried so many emotions and memories with it. It was a connection to the past, to someone important.

"No!" I cried out, pushing myself up from my seat. "This isn't right... Everything is wrong!"

My hands clawed through my hair as I scoured my mind for the missing piece. Fragments of memories rushed back to me like a broken mirror reforming, revealing the deceitful mirage of reality I had been living in. It was all a lie. I was missing a piece of myself. My mate, Dimitri, was my greatest love, and I needed to find him!

"What is wrong my dear?" My father hastened behind me. I watched him warily, I could sense his intentions weren't pure.

"This isn't real," I proclaimed, my voice quivering with conviction as I shuddered away from his frigid grasp. "None of this is."

My mother's eyes flashed with panic as she attempted to draw me closer. "What do you mean?" she queried, her expression void of all emotion as she peered into my soul.

"Mom, I watched you die," I whispered, my voice choking with a mixture of anguish and indignation.

"I watched all of you die when I was only four. This can't be really happening?" I say to her and every single witch in the room watching.

"We are your family, Isabella," my mother intoned flatly, her grip tightening as she tried pulling me to her arms but I resisted.

"No, there is an important part in my memory that I was missing…." I hissed, my heart thundering as the fragmented pieces of my memory congealed into a stunning clarity.

"I remember now. That voice you tried so desperately to erase from my memories—it was Dimitri, my mate. I belong there with him, not here. Who the bloody hell are you?" I ask my mother determinedly. She glared at me, her eyes now overcomed with a dark and burning rage.

This was when it all started to come together. It was Namek, I was possessed by the Dark one. All this was her dark magic imprisoning me in my own mind, using my memories.

I needed to find a way out of here and get back control of my body. I need to get to Dimitri.

"You shouldn't have ruined it all, Isabella!" my mother's form quivered and warped, her beauty melting away like a fever dream. In its place stood Namek in her true form. Her skin was hideous and disfigured, green eyes burning with malice as darkness oozed from her skin.

"You should have stayed lost in your memories, content with the facade of family and happiness," she snarled,

"At least being trapped in your memories you were happy with the family you lost but now where I will send you will be the darkest corners of your mind where no single ray of light will be able to find you." Namek hissed, her voice dripping with venom.

Slowly everything and everyone around faded away into a dark smoke. Everything was engulfed into the darkness, I couldn't see anything, I couldn't hear anything in this dark haze that clouded my vision.

I felt trapped in my own mind, covered and suffocated by this Darkness. I tried to scream but I had no power. I continued struggling to move but it seemed like the more I struggled the more I became overwhelmed by the darkness around.

"Fight this Isabella! You are stronger than this." I heard Dimitri's voice urging me to keep fighting. The sound of Dimitri's voice was the only thing I held on to. It was like my beacon, navigating me out of the darkness. He was my light.

"There's no use fighting! You can't win!" Namek's voice said in the darkness. This struggle to gain control felt impossible but I could feel Dimitri calling for me through our bond, he needed me and that gave me strength to keep fighting the Darkness.

I couldn't give up!

I kept on fighting, pushing against all the darkness around. I focused on the great love I had for Dimitri, channeling all my magic to our love within me. I felt so much power course through me.

I summoned a powerful mystical energy of light, it shimmered and beamed within my chest, I radiated light. My light grew, fighting against the darkness all around. It was a great war between light against darkness and I was winning against the Darkness.

"No!!! This isn't possible! This can't be!" Namek screamed, her darkness fading away in the light. Everything around was overcomed by my light, leaving no space for her dark powers.

"In the end, light always conquers darkness." I said to her, In my mind I heard Dimitri's voice call out to me again.

"I love you." I heard Dimitri's voice whisper. It gave me just the strength I needed to end this battle once and for all.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" I let out a loud scream, creating an explosive energy of light, shining out through the Darkness.

I watch as Namek screams as she burns in my light. It was destroying her, reducing her to ash until there was nothing more left. Namek and her dark powers were destroyed for good. She was gone.

I regain full consciousness of my mind as well as control of my body. My eyes quiver at the scene before me. It was just like in my visions.

Dimitri was standing before me, bleeding from a dagger in his chest and from his lips. My trembling hands still holding the silver dagger I plunged into his heart.

"No, no, no, no, no!!!" I scream, as I quickly lay him down on the ground. I pulled the dagger out of him, the dagger was corrupted and poisoned by the darkest magic. I placed my hands above his wound.

"Alpha!" Lance and Gabe screamed rushing to our side. The entire pack paused watching in terror of what could happen to their alpha.

"Isabelle--" Dimitri tries to say but it just comes out in a dry cough.

"No Dimitri don't speak, I'm going to save you! This isn't the end!" I breathe, closing my eyes as I begin to chant a spell to heal him. I was channeling all the magic I had to heal him, but something was wrong, my powers weren't healing him. It was the dark magic, it was stopping my spell from working. The dark poison had already spread to his heart, stopping his heart.

"Isabelle listen to me." Dimitri heaved, struggling for every breath.

"No Dimitri! Do not utter a single word, I'm going to fix you, I promise." I say with teary eyes, trying to compose my thoughts.

Since the poison is dark magic, we need to get the magic poison out of him. The siphon twins.

"Dixie!!! Alexa!!!" I scream for the siphon twins. They could siphon all the dark magic out of Dimitri so that I can heal him.

Dixie and Alexa rushed to my side, looking dismayed. It looked really bad, black lines had flowed all over Dimitri's body, reaching his neck. It was desiccating him.

"What can we do?!" Dixie asked, kneeling beside me.

"I need both of you to siphon Namek's dark magic poisoning Dimitri." I tell them.

"A dark magic like this could kill us---" Alexa voiced, discovering the danger in siphoning the Dark one's poison. I didn't realize this sooner, this could be lethal for them.

I couldn't ask them to risk their lives like this, this was too dangerous.

"Alexa we have to try, if it can help to save Alpha. We will do it!" Dixie agreed, and Alexa approved with a nod.

"Don't-- don't." Dimitri coughed in his delirium. The poison was getting bad.

The twins grabbed his hand, closing their eyes shut while their hands glowed red. As soon as they began siphoning the Dark magic out of him, the light faded.

It wasn't working.

They opened their eyes trying again but it didn't work.

"The poison…" Dixie began.

"It won't work Isabelle I'm sorry. The Dark magic cannot be siphoned." Alexa completed.

"Isabelle--" Dimitri's hazel orbs opened, peering into mine as I held him. He was covered in his own blood.

"No Dimitri, save your strength. I'm so sorry." I apologize again. His hands clenched tightly to mine. I could feel our mate bond grow weaker. I was losing him.

"Listen to me, don't blame yourself. This wasn't your fault." He tells me "I'm glad I got to see your eyes one last time before it all ended." He managed to smile, but I just couldn't. I couldn't manage to fake a smile like it was all okay because nothing was okay. I wasn't that strong.

"No, don't speak like that, it isn't over yet. I'm going to fix you, I promise." I place my hands on his chest, feeling the dark poison flow in him. I need to force it out.

I quickly whispered another spell to myself but it didn't work. None of my spells were working, the poison had no cure.

"No, it isn't working." I break down into tears.

"Isabella, don't cry, this is the end for me. But this wasn't your fault… Promise me that you will not blame yourself. I want you to move on with your life, promise me you will do that." He urged me, his soft eyes boring into my glassy eyes.

"I can't Dimitri. I can't do this without you. I won't!" I sniffle. I couldn't lie to him or to myself. I would go insane if I lost him.

"You need to move on, for me and for the pack. They will need you to be strong the most. Promise me Isabelle!" He begged, barely holding on.

"Okay, I promise." I succumbed. His bloodied hand trailed to my face, wiping the tears off my face before they fell from my face.

He gave me his perfect smile one last time before finally drawing in his last breath. He wasn't moving, he was gone.

"Dimitri… Dimitri, please don't leave me..." I cry into his hand.

"Dimitri no….!" Hot tears flew from my eyes, as I let out a powerful sonic scream that could be felt by every supernatural creature alive.

I held his dead body tight to me as I wept.

Lance crumbled to the floor, kneeling before his deceased Alpha. He let out a long and sorrowful howl, and the other wolves followed suit, meeting his howls in the sky as they all bowed in respect to the fallen Alpha King.

"The end??"

"This can't be our end, Dimitri," I whispered, my voice a low, feral growl.

"This couldn't be the end we deserved!" I sniffled in my tears, turning my pain into a new determination.

"I won't let our story end this way, Dimitri. This is my last promise to you."

This wasn't our end!

***ONE WEEK LATER***

Location: Syria, Damascus

It's been seven bloody days since he died.

Seven bloody days since sanity had abandoned me, leaving in its place a primal, all-consuming rage that fueled my every move. The search for a way to bring Dimitri back to life had become a single-minded obsession of mine, a relentless pursuit that knew no rest.

I have spent the past few days, traveling all over the fucking continent. Following any lead I could get to find a way to bring Dimitri back to life.

Ever since that day, I couldn't accept the cards we had been dealt with by Fate. I knew there was a way to cheat death and bring him back to life, I had to find it.

I couldn't even lay him to rest, I let his body rest perfectly in a coffin inside his chambers. To me he wasn't dead yet, he was only resting.

My search had led me all over the world but currently the path had led me to a dimly lit bar in the heart of Damascus, where the air was thick with the stench of smoke and cheap whiskey.

I was here looking for someone. My source informed me that a demon, Valak, frequented this bar. Valak had been rumored to smuggle souls out of hell for a price. He was my last lead.

I was seated by the counter, my hands circling my glass of untouched whiskey, I was waiting for the demon to arrive. Beside me was Diego, he agreed to help me in my quest to get Dimitri back, I appreciated his support. His presence offered me some comfort in my quest.

We were blended in the bar, waiting for almost an hour when he finally showed up. As soon as Valak stepped into the bar he paused, his eyes running through the crowded faces in the room. He could sense our presence.

His dark eyes narrowed on me before he started to make a run for it.

"Fuck!" I jolted up from my seat, as Diego and I eagerly chased after him through the dark streets of Damascus. As if reading my mind Diego took a right turn. I was left chasing the demon.

I continued pursuing him closely, never letting his silhouette out of my sight. Then Diego emerged from the other end of the lonesome alley, throwing Valak back with his mind.

I picked him up pointing a golden dagger at his throat. This was the only thing that could really hurt a demon.

"You seem to already know who I am?" I ask, holding him still.

"Who doesn't? The chosen one." Valak sneered in my face in contempt.

"Good. I hear you smuggle souls in and out of the underworld. I need you to get someone out for me." The moon gleamed, watching us in the night.

"I can't help you." He spoke.

"You can't or you won't?" I threaten, pressing my dagger into his throat, causing him to bleed.

"I can't. He specifically told me that you will come to me asking to bring out a soul and he warned me not to help you."

"Who is he?" Diego asked, watching the demon with cold eyes.

"The prince of hell, Memphis. He doesn't want me to help." Valak says.

"I'm going to kill you if you don't do what I say." I threatened and the demon laughed.

"Go ahead then, kill me. You don't understand, I fear Memphis more than I fear you or anyone. You should fear him too if you claim to be smart." He grunted, grinning.

"He has a message for you," the demon hissed, its voice reverberating in the enclosed space of the alley. "He said I should tell you to come and find him... He told me you would understand what it meant."

I recoiled at the demon's words, a chill running down my spine. I understood the message very well. He wanted me to come to him, just like in the tower.

Without wasting any more time I dived my dagger into his heart and he is engulfed in flames until he is nothing but ash.

I had to find Memphis.

The next morning Diego and I traveled back to the pack.

I met Lance and Gabe waiting for me at the pack borders. I didn't need to read their thoughts to sense their concern. Both of their gazes fixed on me, their features a mirror of worry.

"Queen Luna," they greeted, bowing down to me.

"Did you find anything in Damascus?" Gabe inquired, his tone expectant, his gaze searching.

I paused as we strolled to the pack house, my mind reeling with the events of the night.

"Yes. How are the things in the pack?" I ask.

Lance replied, "Everything has gotten a lot tense since you left but Gabe and I took care of it."

"What happened while I was gone?" I ask wanting to know more.

"Some of the Alphas kept insisting that we go on and place Dimitri in the tomb--" Lance informed me, his voice low.

"How is Dimitri?" I cut in. I was only worried about him. For any of my plans on resurrection to succeed I needed his body to be whole.

"Don't worry Isabella, Dimitri's body is heavily guarded in his chambers." Lance assured with a nod.

"Good. We can't bury him just yet, there's someone I needed to meet first." I needed to summon Memphis, he wanted me to find him and he was my last and only option.

I went deep into the woods with my family crested grimoire in my arms. With it I discovered a spell to summon the king of the crossroads.

With the blood of a crow, I drew a wide circle on the ground, marking a boundary. I poured salt into a bowl, staining it with my blood. Next I added into the bowl the crushed skull of crows. All this was required for my summoning spell to work. I began chanting.

"Impericus livicúm omnis ímmúndus no spiritus infernaus satanica fer reh nahi…" I chanted in old greek tongue, lighting up a single match stick and dumping it into the bowl.

Suddenly, the flame rose, burning higher. The once clear skies were gone, they all turned gray filling the air with an acidic smell of sulfur. I could feel the air freeze and I felt a cold and dreadful feeling creep up to my spine. He was here.

I turned around to find him grinning wildly behind me. He was dressed in an all black attire.

"I told you we would meet again Isabella Santacruz." Memphis said with a long smile. He was wearing a long black coat, his golden eyes gleaming. His long hair was trimmed just below his neck.

"I want you to bring him back!" I waste no time to say.

"Are you sure that is what you truly want?" Memphis asked.

"Yes. Can't you do it?"

"You know I can, but…" he remarked, his voice heavy on the but.

I knew there was always a 'but' with deals like this.

"But bringing your mate back from the dead will make him a part demon. He will still be a lycan wolf but deep down he will become a demon with all the glory attached to it. He will still be your Dimitri just that he would have the DNA and genetics of a half blooded demon." He says with a smirk, it was as if he was enjoying this.

"Glory? What glory is there in being a demon?" I scoffed.

"He doesn't get to die for starters. You need to also understand that time moves differently in the underworld, a day here equals years in there… Years of torture, Dimitri's soul might as well be broken by now." He pauses, his trained eyes observing me carefully.

"Would you still want him back?" He added.

Even with everything he had said, I was willing to do it all if it means I get my mate back. Demon or not, he is still going to be my Dimitri deep down.

I take bold steps towards him. "Do it." I tell him looking the devil in the eye.

"Alright! A bargain with the devil always comes at a great price." He stated with a smile, I felt a chill run down my spine. Was I going to be able to pay the price?

"What price do I have to pay?" I demanded

"It isn't a matter of price, but a matter of cost Isabella." He spoke, cold air escaping his lips.

"And the cost is your first born daughter. When you finally have her she will be my bride." He says to me, his tone so ice cold.

My eyes widened at his words.

He wanted my child. I wasn't even pregnant yet but he wanted her.

"You bastard!" I exclaimed.

"You are insane if you think I will agree to that." I flare at him. My eyes fixed on his pale face.

"So would you rather let the man you love remain dead? I thought mortals were willing to go to any depths for love, or was I wrong?" He asks, standing right in front of me.

"The child can live with you until she turns eighteen, that's when I will come to claim her as my bride." Memphis says.

I thought about it, I couldn't sacrifice my daughter for the man I loved. It was unfair to her. But I had no other choice, I wouldn't be able to live without him.

"You choose, to save the love of your life or an unborn child you don't even have yet." Memphis said, calling back my attention.

"Why do you want her?" I ask. Why was he so hell bent on having my daughter? It felt like he had a much sinister intention than he let on.

"That girl will have a far greater destiny than you, Isabella. She is the future and will be the end. I've seen her, I saw a vision about her even before I met you at the tower. That's how I knew you would come and be the one to set me free." Memphis said, his golden eyes glowed as he spoke.

He wasn't going to have her!

I wasn't going to allow him to have my daughter, I was going to protect her from him. I will find a way to keep him from getting to her. At all costs I will protect my child.

Then the King of the cross-roads smirked as if knowing that I was going to agree and say yes to his deal.

"I accept." I uttered.

"A pact created and sealed by blood!" Memphis slit a cross mark on his chest. "The deal has been sealed. I am bound by my blood to honor our agreement, make sure you do the same Isabella." He grinned.

"Just bring him back to me."

"Very well." Memphis grinned eagerly, as he snapped his finger. I could sense Dimitri's soul for the first time in a week. He was back, I could sense him through the mate bond.

"Your mate is alive." Memphis confirmed.

"Don't forget about our deal Isabelle. I will be back to collect what I was promised. I want you to remember that I'm not your enemy, I want to keep her safe as much as you do." He said with a cold smirk before snapping his fingers and disappeared in a puff of black smoke.

He said he wasn't my enemy but I doubt that. I was going to find a way to keep my daughter away from him. Even if it costs me my life

I hear through the mind link that he is awake now, I run hastily back to the pack house, with my heart hammering in my chest.

As I approached his chambers, I could feel our mate bond pulling me to him like electricity. I pushed open the door to find Dimitri standing there shirtless surrounded by our pack healers and doctors, Lance and Gabe were also there.

He was alive and breathing in his magnificent form. His soft brown eyes fell on mine, causing the tears to flow from my eyes.

"Isabelle!" He called out, sounding confused. He pushes away the healers trying to get him to lay down and he covers me in his embrace. Squeezing me tight in his arms. He ran his hands into my hair breathing in my air.

"I never thought I would see you ever again, my little witch." He heaves holding me close. I pull away looking into his eyes.

"I missed you so much!" I smile at my mate. "You are still very weak, you need to rest." I told him.

He nods slowly and allows the healers to attend to him.

Midnight had come and the moon hung high in the night sky. The pack had thrown a bonfire to celebrate the return of their Alpha, oblivious to the dark truth of this joyous occasion.

I stood alone on the balcony, the cool night air caressing my skin as I pondered the depths of what I had done. To what lengths had I gone to retrieve my love from the clutches of death?

My mind was lost so deep into my thoughts that I couldn't notice the presence behind me until it spoke.

"I missed this view so much." Dimitri said, his warm body embracing me from behind. He held me on the balcony, his head resting on my shoulders. He was in his usual black T-shirt and jeans.

"How long have you been there?" I ask, looking at him startled.

"Not long enough…" He answered with a soft smile. "I missed you."

"You are supposed to be resting, you aren't completely healed from Namek's magic." I say worriedly, shifting from his embrace.

"I couldn't rest. Ever since I woke up I've been trying to understand everything that happened up until now." Dimitri said, the confusion etched into his features was impossible to ignore.

"I died. I remember awakening in a dark place where all I could hear was screaming, all I knew was pain and suffering." He expressed.

"You were in hell." I told him.

"They tell me it's only been a week since I died but there it felt a lot more than that. It felt like I was being tortured for years." Dimitri explained. Memphis mentioned this. About the time difference between here and the underworld, time moved faster there.

It must have been so hard being in that place for that long.

"But now that I'm back, I feel different… there's a different voice in my head. Cessair. I can hear him constantly, he keeps trying to get control. How did you bring me back Isabella?" He asked. I turn to him, my glassy eyes meeting his

"Oh Dimitri… I did something really terrible… I-- I--" I stuttered not knowing how to tell him what I had done to get him back.

"Tell me Isabella. What did you do?" He asked gently, his voice tinged with concern.

"I made a deal with the prince of hell." I say to him, his eyes boring into mine.

"Isabelle--"

"I didn't know what else to do. It was the only way I could bring you back." I quickly told him.

"That's why I feel different… My soul became part demon during my time in hell." he deduced.

"Yes." I nodded. He drew in a deep breath as he ran his hand into his black strands.

"What did that bastard ask in return?" Dimitri asked, his voice hardening in anger but it wasn't directed at me.

"He wants our daughter. He says he will come to claim her as his bride after she turns eighteen." I confessed to him.

"Fuck Isabelle! How could you trade our child to bring me back." He growled.

"I had no other choice, Dimitri. With you gone we wouldn't even have a child to begin with. I knew I was wrong but I couldn't live without you. But I'm not giving up my daughter to anyone." I spoke determinedly.

"That would never happen, We have to protect her. Lock up every door, and close up every contact with the world. We will keep her safe. No one is taking our daughter away from us. We are going to make sure he stays as far away from her as possible. I'll kill the devil if I have to!" As he spoke his voice grew hardened. I could see his eyes turn black and I knew his demon was getting control.

"Dimitri, take a deep breath." I whisper to him, in a bid to calm him down.

"Don't speak to me, witch!" Dimitri snarled.

"Dimitri---" I grab his hand and he calms down, his eyes fading back to his gentle brown hue.

He grips my hand tight, pulling it to his chest. I could tell he was still struggling for control over his demon side.

"I understand why you did it and I know I would move heaven and hell if I ever lost you." He sighs gently, looking up to the moon.

"I don't know what comes next or what cards the moon goddess has left for us but we are going to overcome it all, together." He assures me.

"What do we do now?" I ask him.

"We do everything it takes to keep our daughter safe. He won't get to lay his hands on our daughter, I promise!" Dimitri grits out intensely, his eyes glowing it's usual fiery red.

It was sure to me that we were going to do whatever it takes to keep our daughter safe. Although she isn't even born yet, we will have to fight an endless war to keep her with us. She will be our future and our end.

We may have thought that this was the end of our story but no it wasn't. This was merely only the beginning!

****Author's note****

This is not the end of the story but the beginning. What are your feelings and thoughts about the book and the ending?

Thank you to everyone that stuck around and made it this far. Your support has been very much appreciated. And to my best friend @Yuna for helping me create this final cover.

As we close the book, remember to leave your mark with a vote, spreading the word and sharing the magic with others.

ATTENTION!!!

As you all are probably thinking, this isn't the end of the Blood Moon series, there is going to be a book two BLOOD MOON: The Demon's stone --which will center more on Diego Santacruz AKA Death and the aftermath of the deal Isabella made with the Devil. The only discourse is that should it be another stand book or should I just add it along with this?
