Late night walks

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Isabella's Point Of View

"Please don't hit me!" I begged him, my foster father and abuser who held tight to a leather belt while my seven year old self, was knelt down before him. Mischa Simmons was the bastard's name, he was a lazy no good drunk that beat me all the time. He was abusive and worked as a truck driver, and every night whenever he came home from work he never missed the opportunity to hit me.

"Shut up you cursed witch!" He slurred on his words. "How many times have I told you, never to talk back to me, huh!" He scolded, delivering another hit with his belt on my back. I cried out but there was no one there to help me. I was forced to relieve these worst moments of my life where he tried to force himself on me. That was the last time I took any of his abuse. He always thought I was the devil so I became him.

On the night he came back from work, he was heavily drunk and was pissed off about getting laid off from work. I went to my room, scared to death to be around him right now. But he was out of his mind, he followed me into my room where he tried to force himself on me.

I didn't mean to hurt him, but I just couldn't let that animal have his way with me. But now I think about it, if I could go back to that day I would rather have killed him with my own hands. He was no better than the monsters that wanted me dead.

That night when he attacked me, I couldn't control my powers, I summoned magical four flames, which burnt and left a permanent scar on his face. After that day he was even terrified to look at me. He never dated and abused me again.

Then three years later, that was the first time the Red Circle coven found me. That day when I came home from school, I found him dead- he was petrified, laying in a pool of his own blood. I heard hissing sound echoing all through the house, I knew she had found me again.

I could see her crimson red lips form into a smile, "Hello my little niece." My aunt Delilah grinned widely as she inched closer towards me. Her pet basilisk serpent slithering beside her. That fucking serpent was always by her side. It was the one that petrified and killed my foster dad.

"You thought you could run away from me forever. But you can't outrun me. Your daddy couldn't, your mommy couldn't and you also failed!" She erupted into fearful laughter. It felt like I was reliving all these memories I tried so hard to bury, all over again. But I knew this was all a nightmare.

"No. No. No. No. It's not real." I cowered on the floor, curled up to myself as I kept on repeating those words like they were my only protection.

My aunt and her pet inched closer to me as I lost control of my powers, exploding in a fiery blue flame. I watched my aunt's eyes widen in disbelief, she was surprised at how powerful I had become and so was I. I didn't know I was capable of so much.

I let out an ear piercing scream as it shattered all the glass windows to the ground. I erupted in flames, burning the entire house to the ground.

"NO!" I scream, finally waking up from another terrible nightmare. "It was just a nightmare. She isn't here. You are safe Isabella." I reassured myself, brushing off the beads of sweat on my forehead. But something about this dream felt too real. It was scary to admit but I knew soon enough, all the monsters hiding underneath my bed would finally catch up to me. I knew it was only a matter of time before she found me.

I needed to get my mind off everything. I needed to go for a long walk to cool off my thoughts. I started to wander out into the woods.

Dimitri's Point Of View

I had just finished the last paperwork on my desk. I had spent all day locked up in my office tending to the company business. There was a business deal I had to deal with. The project was huge and needed my full attention but thankfully I had managed to resolve it now.

'I needed a warm shower.' I thought to myself, twisting my neck. looking out through the window, I could see a figure going out into the woods.

It was Isabella.

'What was she doing out there?' I asked myself, taking a glance at my watch. It was three a.m in the morning, too early to be taking a morning walk. What was she doing venturing out into the woods? It isn't safe out there.

'Follow her!' I heard Luca whine within me. He didn't need to tell me that twice. I quickly picked up a jacket following my mate.

I rushed downstairs, trailing behind her secretly. She moved slowly counting her steps. It seemed more like she was rather lost in her own thoughts. A worried and fearful expression covered her face which hurt me deeply. It made my heart bleed to see her like this. I wanted to go to her, enclose her in my arms and whisper to her that I was here for her.

But I couldn't, as much as I wanted to I can't. I couldn't risk it.

'You can't or you won't?' Luca scoffed at me, he was still pissed at me for not always being there for our mate like we should.

And that was when I stepped on a twig, as it wailed out in retaliation, causing my mate to turn to my direction. I quickly hid behind a tree, hoping she wouldn't catch me.

"Who's there?" she questioned, her voice melodious to my ears. She had a sweet voice, if I may add.

"You better come out or you're going to be very sorry." She even sounded cute when she was threatening, I let out a low chuckle. I could feel her approaching the tree I hid in.

"Don't shoot!" I announced as I held up my hands in the air, as a show of surrender. She gawked at me in shock, before her demeanor became unreadable again.

There she stood, in the rising sun's golden hour. Her skin glittering, my radiant beam in the night. God she looked like an angel. I suddenly developed a desire to know everything about her. Everything.

I couldn't deny it, as much as I didn't want a mate, I couldn't help but be attracted to her, like a moth to a flame, she kept on pulling me in, deeper, and deeper, till I'm frozen. I didn't want to reject her, it would be better to just send her away after everything had been settled, it was safer for her that way.

The prophecy said she would play a part in the destruction or salvation of the pack, But I totally doubted it though. She was human after all, there wasn't much that she could do for the pack and to the pack. If she just stayed it would only put her in more danger.

Her mouth finally opened to say something. "What the hell are you doing? Don't tell me you were stalking me?" She scoffed outrageously. Now she makes it sound creepy. I wasn't stalking her, I was simply watching out for her... There's a huge difference.

"And why would I stalk you? I believe you think too highly of yourself. You aren't the only one who likes taking early morning walks too. I came out to clear my head and was as surprised to find you here." I lied bluntly. Earning a suspicious glare from her, she wasn't buying my story. Quickly I needed to turn the tables.

"And you? What are you doing out at this time? Don't you know that it is dangerous around here, huh? What if you got hurt?" I snapped, trying to keep my tone in check.

One thing I have learnt about my little mate was that she had a really short temper. The flashback of the drama between her and Rubi washed over me and I couldn't help but smile at it. I would be lying if I said I wasn't proud of what she did to Rubi. She was very bold and brave. The best qualities in a Luna.

Rubi had it coming and she finally met her match.

"I know how to take care of myself! Thank you." she shot back, before I could even mutter a word she came at me again.

"And since you came for a walk, why don't you go your way and I go mine!" With that she stomped off to the opposite direction leaving me struck in awe.

'Feisty mate. I like it. She really got you silenced.' I could hear Luca taunt, making me roll my eyes at him. But I loved it. I loved how she was able to stand up to me like no one else. She was a challenge and that was what made her stand out from other women I have met. I watched her till she was out of sight. Since she could obviously handle herself I was headed back to the pack house.

But I stopped when suddenly, I heard a loud scream from the forest. It was Isabelle.

I immediately ran towards the sound and to my surprise I saw her on the ground, she was surrounded by five vampires.

There she stood, bleeding from her arm as she fought them, with nothing but a wooden stake.

I was astounded. I mean who would have thought my mate could fight so damn good. she even managed to put one bloodsucker down. She had a trained stance that could only be gotten from a well trained fighter.

I stood there watching as she put another one down. What was she?

"Are you going to keep watching me fight or will you come and help me." she said, shooting me a look. Just then another vampire lunged at her, dropping her to the ground. Shit!

I began to shake in anger. my blood was boiling. I let out a fearsome growl, racing to her side before the other vampire could attack. I lunged up in the air, grabbing a nearby wooden stake, and putting it into him as the other three faces widened with a fearful recognition. They knew who I was and it was a fucking good thing they did. I'm certainly going to enjoy ripping them apart in this vicious fun. I smirked.

How dare they attack her? The more I thought about it the angrier I became. I looked at the remaining three, they were newly turned vampires. No wonder they were sloppy with their attacks. What were fledglings doing in my pack territories.

"We are sorry, Alpha. We didn't know this was your territory-'' one of them began talking and with precise aim I threw the wooden stake directly at his heart. silencing him before he could finish his words.

"Are those-"she got up on her feet as I helped her up. She didn't finish her statement.

"what?" I asked innocently, as though I knew nothing going on.

"What are they?" she asked, pointing at the two fledglings that were making a run for it.

"I don't know." I told yet another lie. I couldn't let her know that they were vampires.

"But he sure looked like he knew you." She says.

Again, she was determined in finding out the truth. I needed to change the subject.

"Quick! We need to get out of here. More could be approaching." I said convincingly, as she nodded in accordance. I held my mate's hand and we started running towards the pack house. Together.

Isabelle's point of view

We were running hand in hand back to the castle. There were a lot of questions that burned inside me like, did those vampires know him. One of them spoke like they did, they even called him Alpha. And the way he took them down with ease tells me that this wasn't his first time fighting against those newly turned vampires. What the hell was he?

There were a lot of thoughts flowing through me at once. The fledgling vampires fled not because they were afraid of me but because they feared Dimitri. What was he that vampires were afraid of? There was a secret hidden about this whole place and now I knew it wasn't just because they were part of mafias like I once naively thought. There was something else, something that I needed to find out for myself. I guess it wasn't as safe as I thought. If today vampires were able to find me, I wonder what would happen next.
