Chapter 433: System Vs Protag (part 5)
I Hate Systems
Boom!
Xuer chased after the two System Hosts, blasting everything along her way, pressing them further and further.
The System Hosts, in return, solely focused on defence, running away as they had been injured severely.
Bunuela too attacked, targeting them right after Xuerâs attack ended. This way, both of them didnât end up negating each otherâs attacks.
âDammit!â Ranze grunted in anger, gazing at the two individuals that had arrived before him. It was Warktor and Chenger.
Currently on the ground between the two were a bunch of corpses. All of them were Sleeper Cells that Compass Carburettor had created among Chengerâs organisation.
Surprisingly, when Ranze attacked their enemies, the Sleeper Cells came under his attack, dying in the process.
As they were the first generation of Sleeper Cells, unlike the ones he created in the Folkan Secret Realm, their bodies werenât boosted by the Blood Vitality Grass. And hence, they fell under his hits easily.
This was the effect of both Chengerâs and Warktorâs Luck combining to result in this. Moreover, as Compass Carburettorâs innate Luck had taken severe damage recently, the Sleeper Cells didnât survive.
Moreover, the same was also true for the region. All the Sleeper Cells that had taken part in suppressing Velcorn had been killed by Hollaâs attacks.
Grisha and Ranze teamed up to fight against their two opponents.
Grisha and Chenger both had their respective organisations. And the people from both sides were currently locked in battle.
âHey, I still need to enter the Imperial Treasury to find a weapon for my disciple.â Warktor gazed at Chenger, âSo, I donât want to fight against Compass Carburettorâs companions at the moment. Doing so would only cause my Luck to crumble.â
âHolla and Velcorn might die if this continues.â Chenger muttered, âYouâve already seen how low Velcornâs luck has gotten. Holla isnât far off either. We need to buy them time until their Luck recovers.â
âThatâs their fault for being useless.â Warktor snorted, âSo, why should I care?â
He then waved his hand, âI only came here to stop these two for a minute. That should be enough for Holla to escape far enough and save Velcorn if she wants to.â
He then gazed at Grisha, âGrishaâ¦itâs nice to see you again. How many years was it? 250 something? It has been long since I last saw you. How are you doing these days?â
âWhy are you here, sir?â Grisha frowned, surprisingly treating him with respect, âWith your nature, youâll never side with them.â
âI was brought here forcefully though.â Warktor smiled helplessly, âI can ignore all these Luck based Systems, but Coincidental Luck? I cannot ignore its words.â
âIt owns our world you see.â He sighed, âAnd, Coincidental Luck wants us to kill Compass Carburettor. Thereâs no other choice I have here.â
âIt cannot do anything to you. Weâll just be reborn in another twenty yearsâ¦â Grisha retorted, feeling nervous for some reason.
âThatâs where youâre wrong, Grisha.â Warktor sighed, âThereâs a way to kill us. All they have to do is turn us into System Slayers. And once they kill us after that, weâll never revive even after our world resets.â
âAnd, I have a family. You should know clearly from the previous loops about how much I value my family, right?â He spoke, seeing Grisha nod in all seriousness, sighing as he gazed at the sky, âIn every loop, no matter how worse the situation had gotten, not once did I ever betray my family. Their deaths came only after mine.â
âWhat is heâ¦talking about?â Ranze faced Grisha, shocked when he noticed the emotions of the ever-calm and collected woman trembling in response. âWho the heck is this man to affect her this much in a matter of words?â
âAnd, the Coincidental Luck System has held their lives hostage.â Warktor said, his voice sad, âEven though Iâm angry at it, thereâs nothing I can do about it.â
âBut, if Straxia is killed, the Coincidental Luck System would die!â Grisha shouted.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âThatâs true. But,â He shook his head, âCompass Carburettor must have told you about the true nature of Systems, right?â
He sighed, âTheyâve already made preparations. All of them. Within a few decades, they would revive through the minds of the people they live within. Even though they would be weakened significantly, they wouldnât die.â
âAndâ¦â He said helplessly, âThe Coincidental Luck System would still be our worldâs owner. Even if it isnât this loop, it can kill my family permanently in a future loop. You see, no matter when, I donât wish my family to die, since Iâll still be alive through those loops.â
âItâs selfish, but I hope you understand. This is why Iâll have no other choice but to kill Compass Carburettor. You can hate me for that, Grisha. But I donât care.â Warktor said, waving his hands as he walked away, âLetâs not fight at present. As long as you donât go against Holla and Velcorn, I wonât fight you. Xuer would soon meet up with Compass Carburettor. I wonât interfere if they fight with Holla and Velcorn.â
âWhat do you hope to gain from that?â Grisha frowned, âSir, your actions make no sense. You can just try to fight us right now, you know.â
âMy goal is to kill Compass Carburettor even if it means that I would die. But, I donât have confidence in doing that now.â Warktor said truthfully, âIâll face him once the both of us are at the Martial Origin Stage. Until then, Iâll only act to ensure you donât gang up on the System Hosts.â
âAs expected of the Main Character. Even the Luck of his companions is on par with us.â He sighed, vanishing soon after, âIâll be leaving the Imperial Treasury the moment I obtain a weapon for my disciple. I wonât interfere as long as the two of you remain here.â
He then gazed at Chenger, saying, âOf course, if Chenger moves to kill Compass Carburettor, youâre free to do as you wish.â
âAfter all, sheâs Rhizenâs sole wife in all loops. Sheâs inferior only to Straxia.â
