Chapter 3

Marriage mantras are floating in the air but they are unable to reach Siya's ears, the sound of drums falls deaf to her.

Her ears are only able to hear the awful words of all the villagers. The question on her life, her existence, her purity, and on her character are the only she is able to hear right now.

Yeah for many it will be like why is she overreacting, like why she is letting other's words affect her. Others who are totally unknown to her. Whom she will never meet again in her life.

But she is a girl who is very introverted and selfless. She don't has anything to lose except her purity. She has been very protective about herself, her character. She don't want to hear any bad words about her even when she knew that she can't be liked by everyone. She don't want to lose her impression in front of her loved ones, or you can say she don't want to lose them. Don't want to upset them.

She feel someone's hand on her hand gesturing her to getup. She look up to see the man who saved her, protected her,fought for her. Raghav was standing there asking her to getup for the pheras.

She know this man must have planned something, she is good at observing people. And for Raghav she knows that he is a type of man who will never break his promises even if it costs him his own life. And she is well aware that she can trust him in this, or maybe she is trusting him because she is around people whom she don't know and it's scared. So she trusts him because he helped her once.

She gets up slowly and they started walking around the holy fire and after every round he is promising her with a straight serious face and in whispered voice to

protect her,

respect her ,

trust her,

be with her always,

Stay loyal to her,

Fulfill every responsibility towards her and listen to his heart in her matter instead of mind,

Lastly to make her happy and to not let tears fall from her eyes .

All the time Siya's eyes are teary and as soon as he put vermilion on her head her tears comes out. When some of the vermilion falls on her nose Raghav slightly remove that and gently wipe her tears.

He remember all the event happened in the morning which tied them together for forever.

FLASHBACK

Villagers were looking at them with shock and disgusting face. Siya noticed her condition and immediately adjusted the blazer that time Raghav too notice that because of too much sweat at night and his habit of sleeping bare chested, he had removes his vest too last night after confirming that Siya was asleep.

He too immediately wore his shirt and stood up.

All the villagers started asking for their sarpanch. After sometimes sarpanch arrive and they said

"Sarpanch jii dekhiye yeh kya anarth ho raha hai yahan. Ek ladka aur ek ladki iss halat mai voh bhi itne kareeb chiiii chiii chiii...."

[Sarpanch ji, look what a disaster is taking place here. A man and a lady in this condition and that too in such a close proximity...]

"What!!.... Are you mad or what, Nothing like that happen between us. We are in this state because we were stuck in a problem and also whatever the hell we do, it has nothing to do with you huh!!?!! " Raghav said getting angry on their cheap thoughts.

"Hum bolne vale kon ka kya Matlab hai!!?? tum dono eesi chize hamre Gao mai aake Karoge tho kya hi izzat rahegi hamare Gao ki. Aur jhooth kyun bol rahe ho tum dono ko dekh ke saaf nazar aa raha hai ki 'kuch nahi' nahi bahut kuch hua hai. Sarpanch Jii aap hi kuch kare. Pichli baar ka tho yaad hi hoga kese havaldar aaye the. Aur Indono ko dekh kar to pakka hai ki yeh dono Pati Patni nai hai."

[What is the meaning of who are we to say anything!!?? If you both bring such things to our village then what will happen to the respect for our village?? And why are you lying? It is clear from your looks that much more has happened yesterday night. Sarpanch Ji please do something. You must remember the last time when those police officers came.... And looking at both of them, it is clear that these two are not husband and wife.]

Said one of the villager to sarpanch, while the ladies started wishpering among themselves while giving disgusting look to Siya.

" chiii kesi ladki hai ek ladke ke sath puri raat iss halat mai. Baapree!"

[What kind of girl is she who stays with a boy in this condition all night long?]

"aree socho to sahi kese sanskar diye Hoge isse. Kitni nichi khandan ke hoge tabhi aise hai isske sanskar."

[Just think about how low standard background does this girl comes from]

"kese bholi surat hai par harkate huh!! Ab mai kya hi aapna muh Kharab karu"

[Has an innocent face but antics!! Now why should I spoil my mouth]

"chup hojao sab. Aur tum dono ( while looking at Raghav and siya) tumhari himat bhi kese hui eesi harkat karne ki." Said sarpanch jii while glaring at Siya and Raghav, Siya fists her hand while looking down tears flowing continuously.... all these words are just so harsh for her but she can't stop these aunties 😒

[Shut up everyone!!! How dare you to do this]

"aree ese logo ko to maar dalna chahiye" one of the villager shouted.

[Such people should be killed]

Listening this Raghav automatically comes in front of Siya hiding her behind him

"Maar dalna chaiye huh?! Kis Hak se bol Rahe ho tum yeh? Jab hamne kuch bhi galat kam hi nai kiya to fir kya bakwas ho rahi hai yeh?" Raghav asked in anger. He has anger issues and this is making him loss his mind but still he controlled because at this time he has to think calmly otherwise it will be difficult for both of them and Raghav promised Siya to protect her so he will fulfill his promise anyhow because Raghav Singh Raghuvanshi never breaks his promise.

[Should be killed??!! Who gave you the right to state that!? When we have done nothing wrong then why is this nonsense is going on?]

"Galat kaam nai kiya? Ek Javan ladka aur ek Javan ladki iss Tarah se eesi halat mai.... Ladki ka haal dekh uska chehra dekh ke hi samjh aata hai ki kuch na kuch paakka hua hi hai tum dono ke bich. Aur maar dalna Hal nahi hai yeh to upar se aur muskili badhayega; havaldar aayenge hi inko dhundh te hue, aur mujhe voh khakhi hamre Gao ke aaspas bhi nahi chahiye."

[You did nothing wrong? A young boy and young girl in this state.... looking at her state and face it's clearly shows that something happen between both of you... and killing them is not the solution, those police would come to find them, and I don't want them anywhere near my village]

Said sarpanch jii while glaring at Raghav while Siya held his shirt more tightly...

" sarpanch jii hamare bhich mai eesa kuch bhi nai hua jesa aap soch Rahe ho. Yeh ladki musibat mai thi kuch log hamre piche pade the unse bachne ke liye ham iss ghare mai ruke the. Aur ab hum yahan Reine bhi nai vale hum jaa hi Rahe Hai."

[Sarpanch ji, nothing has happened between us like you are thinking. This girl was in trouble, few men were behind her. So we stayed in this house to save ourselves from those people. And now we are not even staying, we are going]

Raghav said calmly thinking that he will understand if he explained but

"jaa Rahe Hai? Sarpanch jii agar yeh yahan se chale Gaye to socho log kya kahenge hamre Gao ke baare mai, Kitni thu thu hogi. Kuch kariye " one of the villager again said his vulgar thought.

[Going from here? Sarpanch jii if they go away from here then what will everyone say about our village. Do something]

Sarpanch ji said after thinking for a while, "thik hai tum dono ko jana hai na yahan se [ Raghav nodded ] thik hai to tum dono jaa sakte ho parrr pehele tum dono shaadi Karoge fir tum jaa sakte ho"

[Alright, you both want to leave right? You can go but before that you both have to get married then you can leave]

Listening this Siya shouted along with Raghav, "WHAT!!!!! SHAADI"

Raghav: shaadi? Kya bakwas hai. Hum yeh nautanki nahi kar Rahe Hai aur hame jana hoga to hum chale jayege tum rokne vale kon?

[Marriage?!! What non sense. We are not doing this drama and if we want to go then we will who are you to stop us]

Sarpanch: dekh shaadi to tujhe Karni hi hogi aur....

[See you have to get marry and...

Raghav interrupt sarpanch jii And said

Raghav: nai karunga mai shaadi hum dono ek dusre ko jante bhi nai hai. Mane sirf isski help ki hai aur hum.....

[Will not so any marriage we both don't even know eachother. I just helped her and we...]

Sarpanch: Bahane mat doh yaha hame bhi malum hai tum jeso se kese nipatna hai. Aaaiii Rama tu iss ladki ko leja aur taiyaar kar mai bhi dekh ta hun inn dono ki shaadi kese nahi hoti

[Don't make excuses, we all know how to deal with people like you. Rama, you take this girl and dress her up. I will see how these two don't get married]

Siya started to moving backwards but all the females of village hold her tightly Raghav try to help her but the men held him on his place.

Raghav: leave her I said I'm not marrying her.... leave her

Sarpanch's son : baba agar iss ladke ko nai Karni isse shaadi to koi nai hum kisi aur se Kara dete hai iss ladki ki shaadi. Voh Bhura hai na usse karate hai.

[Papa, IF he don't want to get married to her then we can marry her to someone else. We should marry her to that Bhura]

Sarpanch: sahi hai Bhura ko bulao

[Siya stared crying and trying to free herself. She feels so helpless, she is going to marry someone she don't even know that too it's a forced marriage and soon she look at Raghav to see that he looks like he would brust anytime.]

RAGHAV POV

Soon that so called Bhura comes. He looks like he is in his forties his mouth is filled with tobacco some of that is dripping from the corner and he has a big belly looking so awful. I feel like if I kill someone today then the first will be this Bhura and second will be sarpanch. But I knows that I can't do that I need to act smart here. I can never put a girl's future on bet just because of me but we can't escape from here. So I needs to take decision and have to make sure that Siya too follow it.

"we are ready for this marriage but the condition is I need phone" I demanded.

"phone?!! Thik hai hum suvidha kar denge par tumhare hath mai phone tabhi aayega jab tum dono shaadi karlo" that Sarpanch said.

[Okay we will arrange but for that first you have to marry her]

"thik hai" I said. [okay]

"n-nai n-nai mujhe nai k-k-Karni koi s-sh-shaadi. mai I-in-inhe janti bhi nai hu" Siya said finally getting some courage but that innocent girl don't know these backward people. Please trust me Siya, I will not force you in this.

Sarpanch: aaii ladki tu to kuch bol hi mat. Aur yeh kya Dhong hai ki tu isses janti nai hai. Sath itni durr aa sakti Hai sath raat gujar sakti Hai aur.....

[Hey, girl you better not speak anything. And what is this drama that you don't know him? Can travel distance with him, can spend night With him and...]

Siya(shouted loudly): areee hamre bich mai kuch bhi nai hua hai. Mai pure hun. Mai ne apni dignity nahi khoyi hai. I'm pure I'm pure please hamare bich khuch bhi nai hua hai.

I can see that Siya is trying to say this line to herself instead of this villagers. This girl started doubting herself. She is so insecure now!! But why am I feeling so miserable it's like her tears are affecting me, my heart is breaking apart, so intense pain, I'm feeling like I want someone to take it away. Leave it Raghav it's just overthinking. For the first time you notice any girl like this and communicated this close so maybe that's why you are feeling like this. But she needs to stop feeling insecure. She is pure I guess the most pure women after my mother and bhabhi.

Sarpanch: aaii Rama leja isse aur taiyar kar.

[Rama take her and get her ready]

"No, I don't want to get marry leave me"

I stand there still and give no reaction because the first thing we should do is to get out of here.

AUTHOR POV

It's like all her shout falls deaf to all these people there and till the evening the hole preparation for marriage is done. Tight security are fixed around Raghav and Siya so that they can't escape.

Siya was beautifully ready in a bridal dress. Even though it's simple with no make up but she still looks beautiful. But her face is like a moon who is hiding behind the dark cloud just glimpse of beauty can be seen but the actual shine is lost like she has lost her smile. All the time after getting exhausted she becomes quite and listened to whatever that village's ladies are speaking about her. She didn't even react or protested saying that your assumption are not true

FLASHBACK ENDS

[The outfits are simple because of the lack of time and village settings]

Raghav went towards sarpach after the wedding was completed as all the women took Siya with them.

Raghav: sarpanch aapne kaha tha phone ki suvidha kardoge. Laiye dijiye phone

[Sarpanch you said you will arrange a phone. Give it]

Sarpanch: aree dete hai dete hai pehele kuch...

[Will give but before...]

Raghav interrupt him because he just wants to go away from here otherwise for sure he will kill someone and he don't want that also don't want to scare Siya

Raghav: nai sarpanch ji aur kuch bhi nai sunna hai mujhe yahan se nikal na hai apni biwi ke sath. To aap jaldi se de dijiye

[No sarpanch jii, I don't want to hear anything I just want to go back with my wife. Give me a phone]

Sarpanch: biwi huh abhi to maan bhi nai Rahe the shaadi ke liye ab biwi. Koi nai yeh lo phone par do hi baar chalega kyun ki yahan balance nai hota.

[ Wife huh!! Earlier you were not even ready for marriage and now wife. Anyways here take the phone and call only twice, there is no recharge facilities here]

Raghav: hmm.

He went a little far. And call

After 2 or 3 ring.

Person: hello

Raghav: hello Ekansh bhaisa! Where are you?

Ekansh: Raghav!! I should be the one asking you. Where the hell you are? It's been 2 days your phone is switched off. Do you even know how much worried maa sa is?! But no you don't care anything right.

he said getting little angry at his brother's carelessness.

Ekansh: okay wait I'm coming there.

Raghav: hmm.

After that he started thinking how he will handle the situation. What will he say to everyone? To her family?

While all this thought he don't know when 3 hours passed by and suddenly someone brust inside his room and said that Siya lost her consciousness.

Raghav ran towards her to see that she is on her bed unconscious pale and tierd face.

At the same time he heard the noise of chopper indicating that Ekansh is here.

He ran outside to talked with him.

Let's see how Raghav handle all this mess. How he will fulfill all his promise? Will his family and Siya's family accept this sudden marriage?

Most important if they will accept this? Let's see how will be their journey.

How Raghav learn to love. How Siya learn to love and trust.
