A Year with Mr. Arrogant 11

A Year With Mr. Arrogant (2011)

Abrielle

"What?" I asked, a little louder than I anticipated.

"Abrielle!" Mom shushed me.

I mean I knew the wedding was in 2 weeks but changing it to 3 days, that was impossible. I've seen my aunts weddings and they didn't go well even though it was planned ahead of time. I didn't even have my dress yet, so how are we suppose to plan the whole thing.

"Don't worry sweetheart, we have everything set up," Mrs. Daniels smiled, my nerves decreasing a bit, "You'll be able to pick out your dress today, tomorrow you can have your bachelorette and bridal shower."

"As Ace has his bachelor party," Mr. Daniels smiles at Ace.

"The next day we'll have the wedding rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner," Mrs. Daniels continues, "And we'll be set by Saturday."

They really had this planned out, but I've always thought that I could plan and choose what I wanted for my wedding. Then again this wasn't a "real" wedding.

"You'll be able to pick out your decoration after getting a wedding dress," Mom smiled, patting my back.

This felt real. It was like a real wedding that would be happening, even if Ace didn't like or love me, it still felt real to me. I didn't even know how I could think that.

Then the dining room doors flung open and Jade walks in. Oh my God, I felt like I haven't seen her in ages, since I've been stuck in that house for eternity. She gave me an excited wave and took a seat next to Giselle.

"How was the venues?" Mrs. Daniels questioned.

" hey are amazing, you're going to love them Elle!" Jade squealed.

"Venues?" I question, raising an eyebrow at Jade.

"Yeah, but you'll find out later," Jade responded.

"Don't you guys think that since Elle and I are getting married that we should be able to plan our wedding?" Ace narrowed his eyes at his mom.

That kind of surprised all of us, considering he's the person other than myself that didn't want the wedding to happen.

"He's kind of right," I mumbled under my breathe, but only Ace had caught what I said.

"What was that dear?" Mrs. Daniels questioned.

"She said I was right," Ace spoke before I could.

"Well, why don't you guys trust us and sure enough you'll be able to check out everything later, but right now you two should be shopping," Mrs. Daniels said.

I do trust them but I don't want this process to be stressful. On the other hand, when I was younger, I told my mom that I wanted my wedding to be on the beach and such. I wonder now, is the wedding going to be on the beach?

~

I waited as Ace got off the phone with whoever the it was. The meeting we had with both our families was finally over. They've been planning this whole wedding without us, behind our backs. There was no arguing with Ace, because he was right about choosing and deciding things for our wedding as a couple.

"Ready?" Ace asked, feeling his body against my back, whispering in my ear that sent shocks down my body.

How does he do that?

"Y-Yeah," I stuttered and marched towards the car, opening it on my own.

He got to the drivers seat and smirked before driving out onto the road. He looked serious, again enough for me to think that he really wanted to marry me. I seriously wish I could could read minds, that way everything would be better, and I mean everything.

"Where do you want to shop?" He questioned, turning a corner, into a busy street.

Just as he said that, the store that I've always wanted to shop for my wedding dress came to view. They had everything there and my mom even got her wedding dress there.

"There," I replied, and he nodded.

The car slowed down and as much as I hated our silence, we were now stuck in traffic.

Damn.

"Why there?" He came out and asked, giving me eye contact, but I just couldn't look at him as much as I wanted to.

"My mom, ever since I was little I wanted to get my wedding dress from there, and my mom got hers there too," I answered, looking out at the people in motion. An old couple sat on the bench, which was adorable. I bet they've been together for years and years.

"I see," He mumbled.

"Do y-," We both spoke up together, and my breathing stopped but my heart pounded so fast it would jump out of my chest.

"You first," He insisted.

"Um, I was going to say do you even want this to happen?" I got the courage to ask. He didn't say anything for a second, but answered.

"In a way yes. If my parents didn't arrange this whole thing for us, I would've been glad to have dated you first and then married you," He smiled, and the lane started to move as we did.

"Are you sure, cause I don't want it to be a l-," He cut me off.

"Yes, positive," He answered, sincerely giving me those honest glint in his eyes and I knew he was telling the truth.

Can I keep trusting his words though?

~

We got to the shop and I saw that Jade was already there. I look to the person beside her, Justin. What was Justin doing here? Then it hit me, he had to be Ace's best man. My door opened and Ace stood waiting for me to step out.

I got out of the car and Ace held out his arm for me to take. I linked my arm with his and I noticed the emotion on Justin's face. He tried to cover it up with a smile but I could see the hurt in his eyes. We've only had one date before, but did he really like like me?

"This is so exciting, my brother and my best friend getting married!" Jade excitedly screamed, giving both of us a hug.

"Congratulations," Justin came up and said, his hands in his pockets.

"Thanks," Ace and I both answered, and it just got awkward.

"Come on! Let's go try on dresses!" Jade, took me from Ace and we headed into the store.

We walk in and in front of me were rows of beautiful wedding gowns. Now I knew this was a big deal, the whole store was probably reserved for us.

"Good afternoon, Miss Caldwell," The working ladies politely greeted me and turned to Jade, who seemed use to this or something, " Miss Daniels."

"Call me Elle," I smiled to them and there eyes widened, looking passed me.

"Good afternoon, Young Master Daniels," There eyes trailing up and down his body.

I turn to look at him and he gave a grin to the now swooning ladies that were probably in there late 20's. Most of them had their eyes on Justin too.

"Shall we dear?" Ace placed his hands on the small of my back.

"U-uh, yeah," I gave a nervous smile and we got started.

Jade and I looked around while Ace and Justin sat talking at the sitting area. I wonder what they were talking about. I wish I had super hearing powers.

"Elle! Try this on!" I jumped at Jade's outburst and turned to her.

She held up a beautiful dress; it was a strapless wedding gown with asymmetrically draped bodice, floor length tulle skirt, and peach colored floral sash just above the waist. It was amazingly beautiful!

Jade pushed me with the dress in her hands into the dressing room. She handed me the dress and I closed the door. Stripping from my clothes I couldn't help but laugh at the way Jade was acting. Of course she was excited that I, as her best friend, was going to marry her brother.

"Are you done?" She asked from outside of my dressing room.

"Hold your horses!" I argued, slipping into my dress.

"You're so slow!" She pounded on the door.

"Jade! This is not a runway fashion show," I rolled my eyes and opened the door, crossing my arms and frowning at her.

"You look stunning!" Jade smiled.

~

There were three dresses I couldn't pick out of.

"Pick this dress!" Jade suggested pointing to the flowing Goddess-like gown, but I still couldn't decide.

"How about take all three, that way you'll have the dresses and choose between them later?" Ace suggested, and that seemed like a good option.

"Alright," I listened to him, and he rested his arm on the back of the couch over my shoulders as I sat next to him.

"One moment please," The manager of the shop, Susan nodded and three other girls followed their manager.

"Since we have everything picked out, we can go pick out everything else for the wedding," Jade still in her excited tone, said.

"Ugh," I groaned, feeling tired from her dragging me around, flung my head back and hit Ace's arm, "Oops, sorry."

"That's fine, darling," Ace smiled, bringing his face close to mine.

"Yuck!" Jade disgustedly spit out, "I'm fine with you two getting married, but in the future don't act all lovey dovey in front of me."

I looked down at my lap and felt my face heat up.

Moments later, the ladies came back and had the gowns in separate black bags. Ace got up and shook the managers hand, thanking her for their service. Never had I thought that Ace would do that, considering the way he acted when we first met.

We walked out of the shop and Ace put the gowns in the back seat. Someone brushed passed me and I turn to see Justin.

"See you at school," He smiled, and headed to his car, that was parked behind Ace's.

I watched him and he drove off, his stern face looking at the road. I felt bad, even though I didn't know what was going through Justin's head.

"Elle?" Ace made me snap out of my trance," Ready to go?"

"Yeah..yeah," I said, and got into the passenger seat and Ace closed the door.

More things to do today, but bigger events were going to occur in the next two days. What's going to happen as we reach the nearing date of our wedding. Please don't let anything bad happen, cause I don't want to deal with something that would ruin this process.

I watch as Ace drove down the street.

I wonder if he knew, I was trying hard not to get caught up in him. Just by looking at him, he looked cool just running his hands through his hair.

He was making me want him.
