A Year With Mr. Arrogant (2011)

My head was pounding as I found myself on the floor of my bedroom. What the hell did I do yesterday? I don't remember anything after several drinks. I look around my room and everything was normal, but then I spot a girl on my bed. With a gulp I walk over to the other side and relax when I see Elle's loving face.
Just how did we get back here?
Not wanting to bother her sleep I went into the bathroom, realizing I reeked with alcohol. I took a shower, thinking about how the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner will go. I hope it doesn't overwhelm her, because everyone in my family will be there. I just hope my grandmother Theresa doesn't embarrass me.
As I was in the shower, the bathroom door slammed open and I could hear some choking. Turning of the shower and wrapping a towel on myself, I saw Elle hovering over the toilet, ready to puke.
"Are you alright?" I questioned, quickly wrapping a towel around me. She began to puke as I held up her hair and rubbed her back gently.
She must've drank a lot.
After she was down, Elle flushed the toilet, and I let go of her hair as she went to the sink, rinsing out her mouth, brushing her teeth.
"How much did you drink?" I asked, leaning against the sink beside her.
"I don't know," She muffled, still scrubbing the hell out of her teeth, as if she felt disgusted.
With a chuckle and a kiss on the cheek, I left her the bathroom to herself and got changed. When I was done, I heard the shower on and thought I should wait for her. A few minutes later the bathroom door opened and Elle peeked her head out, probably looking to see if I was around.
"Looking for someone?" I questioned, from the sitting area.
"No," She shook her head, looking innocent, and quickly headed into the closet.
When she was down, she came out of the closet wearing a strapless white casual dress and matching, what do the people call it, wedges? In any case, she was beautiful, and she should really start modeling because those legs are something.
Elle cleared her throat, and my attention shot back to her crystal blue ayes.
"Ready?" I questioned, getting up from the couch.
She nodded with a cute smile that never failed to make me smile. She leaned against me, getting a hold of my arm. I enjoyed how she clutched my arm in a possessive manner. We went into the living room, but gasped at the sight we saw. Our bridesmaids and my groomsmen were all laying around. The only two I noticed gone was Justin and Jadine.
Elle let go of my arm and walked over to a red headed girl that was near to us. She laid on the ground peacefully sleeping as if the hardwood floor was her own bed. While Elle helped her friends, I quickly woke up my friends; Ryan, Tyler, Hector, Landon, and Michael.
It was probably the headache that caused everyone to grumble in frustration.
With his forearm covering his eyes, Tyler asked groggily, "What's going on?"
"All of you guys fell asleep in the living room?" Elle asked, helping a platinum blond haired girl sit up on the couch.
These were Elle's friends? I thought she would have different type of friends. Being a scholarship student and all, she became someone people picked on because of her financial status. After saying goodbye to our friends, they left after we called some drivers.
"I wonder who brought us home," Elle said, pressing buttons on her phone and placed it against her ear, "Hey, where are you?" she asked the person on the other line.
"Oh, so, what happened last night?" She asked, with a steady motion of nodding, "Okay, I'll tell him that, bye."
"Who was that?" I questioned as soon as she hung up.
"Jade, she took us girls home and Justin drove you and the guys back here," Elle answered, casually, "Want some breakfast?"
I responded in appreciation, I just loved her cooking, one of the things that won me over. We got into the kitchen and she started cooking us up; Pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, cutting up some strawberries and lathering blueberries on top our pancakes.
She made herself a latte and sat down to enjoy her plate.
"Oh! Do you want some coffee, milk, or juice?" She asked, sitting up from her spot next to me.
"No let me get it. You enjoy your breakfast," I answered. getting up and she sat back down with a huge smile on her face.
That was a total husband and wife moment and I think she noticed too. It made me shiver to think that I would never settle down until I was ready before I met her. I still didn't know if I was ready to get settled with an actual wife. We're still young and in high school. It sounds even more crazy because the one year agreement hasn't even started.
Is the player and the arrogant person I used to be changing so quickly?
~
The wedding rehearsal had just finished. It was a good time actually. Everyone actually got to get to know each other, so it wasn't going to feel awkward at the wedding ceremony.
The wedding that was fake, yet all this felt genuine in existence, because I had forgotten about how this was only a agreement Elle had made with my father to curb my wild side.
Elle and I were going around talking with family and friends. There was a sudden silence in the room, and everyone looked in the direction they were looking.
What. The. Fuck.
As soon as I saw her, I wanted her to leave. The sly smirk on her face said it all and I could tell what she was thinking inside that thick skull of hers.
She wore an eye catching dress that made everyones dress look dull except Elle.
I watched as she approached Elle and I, taking glances between the two of us while retaining that sly smile. I held Elle closer as if the girl who I hooked up with a few times would lunge at her any second. The look in her eyes told me she was hungry.
"Good evening," Cassidy greeted in the most fake nice voice I have ever heard.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned, almost with a growl in my tone.
"What do you mean? I was invited, silly," She playfully hit my arm, making sure she slid it down afterwards.
Elle looked almost taken over by her sweetness, but I tried to stand my ground. How could Cassidy be here after I said those words to her at the restaurant?
My intention was not to sound atrocious in front of everyone by speaking poorly of a guest. I would sound like a bad host.
"Well, thanks for coming," Elle said, intertwining her hands like she was marking her territory, her eyes saying back off.
The tension in my muscles loosened up, and I knew Elle wouldn't let a girl like her get to her ever again.
~
"You're mine and you'll always be mine," Cassidy's chilling voice whispered into my ear as we stood in a dark hallway of the venue.
Cassidy had pulled me to talk to her when Elle was off talking to Justin. I didn't want her to talk with Justin, but I had to trust her like she needed to trust me.
"Last time I checked, I told you we were never together," I said with venom in every word.
"Stop with the act, babe, we're alone now," Cassidy said with a seducing tone in her voice.
She pushed me against the wall, pinning her body against mine. It disgusted me, so I pushed her off, but she bounced right back. I then pushed her off of me again and held her wrist to ensure she stayed back.
"Never call me that. What you and I had was a joke, and everyone else knows you went running for someone else when you weren't with me," I almost wanted to cuss at her but I refrained, "And what the hell were you thinking when you hit my sister? I didn't know that until Elle told me because my sister had to tell her sister!"
"Your sister was being a brat, and If our relationship doesn't mean anything, then why don't you kiss me now?" She said, trying to get her face close to mine, but I shook her back, annoyed at the fact she called my sister a brat.
"My sister is not a brat, hell she's even smarter than you, and I like Elle. Get it in your head that it will stay like that for a while," I said slowly, hoping it would sink through her thick skull.
Despite my efforts, she smacked her lip gloss-covered lips against mine without warning. My eyes went wide as a figure stood at the end of the hallway, as I pushed her off of me.
