Chapter 16

JACE POV

Everyathing is falling apart before my very eyes and nothing I can do can stop it, it seems the more I try the more everything keeps pulling away from me.

I'm at home, in bed, it feels like forever since I fell asleep, I stay awake all night everyday since we broke up thinking about Henry and the pain just doesn't go away. Right now I'm in bed doing the same thing I do every night, think about him. It's been two weeks since he has been in that hospital and I need a plan of action. I have to find the best way to win back his trust. Its going to be hard work but it will all be worth it in the end.

I am so deep in my thoughts that I don't hear my door opening but I do feel the warmth of a tiny body cuddling into my side. I look and see my son Alfie trying to find a comfortable position on my bed.

"Daddy," He says after getting comfortable.

"Yes."

"When is Honey coming back home, I miss him. I haven't seen him in long time." I suppose I should have prepared what I was going to say when this moment came, I mean they have been asking for him since day one but I've dodged the question all the while. I suppose it is time to tell the kids what's going on, who knows they might be of help in my plans to get him back.

"Well baby boy, Honey is in the hospital." Alfie jumps up and looks at me.

"What, is he ok. why didn't you tell me this all this time."

"Well I didn't want to stress him, but he is ok now he just needs to stay there until he has your siblings." Alfie lays back down in my arms.

"Ok, but I want to see him, even the twins want to see him, they haven't been the same since he left." Alfie says pouting heavily.

"Yeah, I know. What if I take you to see him tomorrow." I say as a plan is already forming in my mind.

"Really Dad, you will." Alfie slowly looses his grump and starts becoming excited.

"Of course I will. Anything for my babies. I love you guys you know. You kids are my life."

"Yeah I love you too old man."

We became silent as Alfie yawns with sleep catching up to him. I look up at the ceiling as the thoughts all start flooding in again but this time I hear the door open again and the sound of tiny footsteps and giggles float through the room. They struggle to get on the bed so I lean over to help the mischievous twins get on the bed.

"Hi Dada."

"Hey DAda." I just chuckle and cuddle them.

"Hi babies, what are you two doing out of your bed at this time of the night."

"Nothing."

"We miss Honey." Oh Henry please just come back, we all love you and cant live without you. I hope you see it soon and come back.

"Don't worry you will see him soon."

"You promise." I smile and hug them closer to me.

"Yeah I promise, but when you see him take it easy ok, he needs all the rest he can get." the twins look at the each other for a long time making weird faces at eachother almost as if they are communicating with their mind before they nod at the same time.

"Ok Dada, we promise." Ok that wasn't weird at all.

"Ok kids remember, when you see Henry, go easy on him, he is not supposed to get too worked up or excited." I told the kids as I led them to Henry's hospital room.

"Ok daddy we got this."

"We really just want to see him, we missed him."

"Ok here goes nothing." I say as I open the door to Henry's room. He is lying on the bed facing the other direction.

"Robbie did you get what I asked you for." He said turning and then his eyes land on mine. He starts trying to get up from the bed but I move forward to stop him, before he sees the kids. They rush forward to hug him and he lets out a gasp of surprise at the show of love. Even the twins try to climb the bed to get to him, but I help them get on.

"Oh my babies, how are you all doing, I've missed you guys." he says while hugging them and giving them smooches in every spot on their faces.

"Henry we missed you, why didn't you come back, the house has been horrible without you." I knew I made the right choice by bringing them here, they are doing such a good job, he might want to come back home by the end of the day.

"Yeah Honey, please don't leave us again, we don't know what we would do without you. Even the food felt different." Aaron says laying it on thick with the pouting. I love these kids, I didn't have to lift a finger.

"Well kids, the doctor said I have to stay in the hospital till I gave birth to your little brother and sister. They want to make sure that everything is going to be okay with them by monitoring their progress with these machines." He shows them the machines that are hooked up to his tummy. Alfie turns to me looking between Henry and I before asking us a question that made Henry's whole face turn the colour of cherry.

"Hey Dad, why didn't you kiss Honey since you came in, you always suck faces when you see each other" Henry blushed so deep and I tried to hold in my laugh so hard but I could help he small chuckle that escaped.

"Alfie where did you learn that, how do you know what suck faces mean."

"My friend at school said that his parents suck faces all the time, he also said that his uncle told him that his parents fuck like rabbits, what does that mean." Henry turns a shade darker if that was even possible.

"That's it we need to remove you from that school, I don't know what they teach you guys in that school."

"Its adult stuff, you don't need to know it till you are at least forty." Henry says defensively.

"But its true Dad, you and Honey haven't kissed yet. I know you want to, is it because of us, it cant be, it never stopped you before." Henry groans out of embarrassment trying to cover his face. I just wink at Alfie, he is on a roll here. Good job son.

"As a matter of fact, I have been dying to kiss Honey since we walked into this room, but he is mad at me."

"Well I'm sure if you kiss him, he will forgive you because you love each other right Honey." My man, the twins were busy cuddling Henry, matter of fact he was hiding his face in Anaya's neck, while Aaron had his head on Henry's tummy, I think he is trying to hear the babies in the tummy. That is so cute.

"Well tell baby boy I'm sure he will let me kiss him if you tell him."

"Jace, what are you doing." Henry says with a sigh.

"I don't want you to be mad at me anymore."

"Yeah Honey, don't be mad at dad anymore." Alfie turns to look at me with his mischievous looking eyes.

"Kiss him Daddy." Aaron finally tunes into what was going on.

"Don't worry Daddy I'll kiss him for you." Aaron says going for his lips.

"Aaron this is adult business son, back away from those lips." Henry snorts and starts laughing and then we all follow him.

"This is the best day I've had since I've been here." Alfie starts fist bumping.

"I aim to please, but seriously though, KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS." Henry carried Anaya and used her as a shield gain to cover his burning face.

"Honey, you heard the kids, I aim to please also, you cant seriously resist the begging children and deny them their hearts desire, this will scar them for life." I said this while all my kids were chanting for us to kiss. It actually garnered some attention from the nurses and some of the doctors even some patients who also started chanting with them. Pretty soon, everyone on that floor was chanting.

People I have never met before kept humouring the kids by chanting with them, and I don't want to disappoint my fans but it is up to Henry.

"Alright, alright." Henry said already resigned after resisting for so long. Everyone including the kids started cheering. I moved closer to him taking my time to get there because I know it will be worth it when I do. I have waited so long to be here talking and laughing with him like this.

I get close to him and held his in my palms, he felt cold to the touch. I pulled his face close to mine and rested my forehead on his, our breaths mingled together and I felt everything about him surround me, his touch, his smell, his everything, it drives me wild. We forgot where we were, it was like we were the only two people in the world.

We're breathing the same air now, slowly teasing him before I finally swooped in ad dived for his lips like it was a trophy and I just won it. Nothing is better than this, there is no better feeling in the world than this. Henry felt the same thing because he reached up to grip my hair and I deepened the kiss and it felt like the first time. I never want to let him go, I just have to convince him that he belongs with me, but this is a great start. Until.

"What's going on here?" That voice was like cold water splashing all over us and we immediately separated but I didn't move from my position as we were still in the moment, still staring at each other.

I could see it in his eyes that he is afraid, I know he still loves me but the fear is what is keeping us apart. We need to have a long talk. We kept staring at each other when we heard Alfie respond to the question.

"Daddy and Honey are kissing, Honey isn't mad at Daddy anymore." I let go of Henry, moving away from him slowly and smiling.

"I wish it were that simple Junior but we'll work it out, I am not letting Honey go, not now, not ever." I look at Robbie looking at me with something akin to approval in his eyes. He is carrying what looks like different variety of food, probably Henry's craving.

"Henry, here is the stuff you asked for. Kids are you hungry there is more than enough to feed an army." Henry and the kids start digging into the feast while Robbie gives me a look and gestures outside. I nod to tell him I understand.

"Hey kids stay here with Henry okay, I'll be right back." I step out following after Robbie. I find him waiting for me outside, he doesn't say anything but starts walking again until we get to the cafeteria. We find a secluded table at the edge. We don't say anything for a while until he starts.

"I don't like you." I sigh in exasperation.

"I kinda figured that out, although I could say the feeling is mutual, it is not, you are obviously very special to him."

"Let me finish." He takes a deep breath and continues.

" I don't like you, you hurt my boy. However I can see that you did not mean to and you deeply regret it, try to have better reaction time next time man." I chuckle.

"Believe me there would not be a next time, I will tattoo it on my forehead if I have to. NO HOES ALLOWED OR I'M TAKEN." We both laugh at that.

"Fix it, you make him happy, I can see that. You probably don't because of the cloak of self pity and guilt that surrounds you but I do every time you come to see him, he perks up and then acts indifferent." He looks me straight in the eyes and we hold eye contact for a long time.

"I can do what I can from the inside and even convince him to think about staying but the rest is up to you. He is just afraid, he told you what happened with his family and those people that betrayed him in the past, the kid cant catch a break.

He is acting out of fear, don't let him make a mistake and miss out on this, this is more than just a relationship, and this is more than just about the two of you, those kids in there are also involved in this relationship, this is a family and I see that now.

I will help you get him back but his trust is something you have to work for on your own. But don't make me regret it."

I could stop the joy and relief from showing on my face. I smiled so big knowing that I have a chance to win back the love of my life.

"Thank you so much Robbie, I swear you wouldn't regret it." We make our way back to the hospital room and heard laughter when we reached the door. I gestured for Robbie to stop moving and peeked into the room. We both saw all of them laughing and with biggest smiles on their faces while Henry was feeding them whatever concoction he told Robbie to get for him.

"They really love him don't they?" Robbie says looking dazed at the vision in front of us.

"You have no idea, this is the first I've seen them laugh in weeks." I said still watching them interact.

"You better win him back."

"OH I PROMISE YOU I WILL." I say smiling sinisterly enjoying the view.
