Chapter 7: What's My Decision?

Caroline's POV

Is he offering me a job? With a house? Oh my god. That's....... WOW!

But.... how will I work with him. He is too much of a distraction.

But c'mon Caroline, it's not about your distraction. It's about your family. Your not working for fun but to take care of your family. That's a big responsibility.

I looked at him and said "I need time"

"May I know the reason why Miss Brook?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

"No." I said firmly and continued

"Stop calling me Miss Brook. That's my mother. And how do you know it's 'Brook'?" I asked curiously.

"I have my ways" he said brightly.

"Don't try 'n' be smart with me Mr. Daniel......." I was thinking.

"Rochester" he answered.

Well what can you do with a man like him whose name itself sounds so intimidating yet sexy. Everything about him is hot, handsome and sexy like him. What? I asked myself. Here comes my weird thoughts.

"So" he said bringing me out of my thoughts. "Have you decided?" He asked.

"What" I asked with confusion.

"About the job offer of course" he said calmly.

"I said give me some time" I said annoyed.

"You haven't thought about it yet? Quick. Soon!" He says.

What the... ?

"You did'nt even give me an hour to think about it. And I need one day to think about it. I'll answer tomorrow" I said looking incredulously at him.

"Your not supposed to order me around. I'm the boss I'll set the time!" he said.

"This is the reason I need time to think coz I might work for an asshole of a boss" I mumbled to myself.

I'm damn sure he would've heard it, coz I wanted him to hear it. And I know he did as I saw him frowning at me but he didn't say any further and kept quite.

"You're not my boss yet!" I said loudly.

"Whatever! I don't care. Just give me my answer. If it's a yes then you can move into the apartment tomorrow. I'll send my men to help you with packing and shifting tomorrow morning" he said arrogantly.

Wow! That's a nice offer. But can I work with this man? It's a question for myself. First of all, he is arrogant. And secondly, he is arrogantly handsome. He'll distract me. But I need the money and the place to live.

"You know.... Please ju-just give me some time. I'll let you know by tomorrow. Same cafe. But at 4 in the evening. Ok?" I asked.

"NO!" He said. Almost screamt that I took a step back coz of fear.

He seemed to notice my fear and closed his eyes trying to calm himself down.

"You either take up my offer now, or leave it." He said.

And..... and I was looking around with my mouth open trying to find an answer for myself.

"Alright Caroline. Don't you think that's a lot if time?" He said raising his voice. He is rude!

"I just asked you for more time. That's not a crime"

"No it's not. But I don't wait for anyone or anything. So the deadline for you is today. Decide" he said so casually.

"Fine. I'll let you know before 12 tonight." I said. I really don't want to loose this job. It's an awesome offer. I just want to wait till tomorrow. What if I get selected tomorrow. And this person standing infront of me is so rude and arrogant. I'm sure I won't be able to stick around him for even 2 days. That's where the problem lies. I sigh.

"So you'll stay here tonight?" he asked with a big smile.

"What?! Where did you get that idea from!?" I asked.

"You said you'll give me your answer by tonight. You'll not leave without giving an answer to me!"

"No I'm not staying! I'll give you my answer tomorrow at 4pm. Same cafe." I said and turned to leave.

"I'll not be coming" he said. Annoyance clear in his voice.

"I'll wait anyways" I smiled and looked at him behind my shoulder before I left.

My day was fast and quick. Woke up early in the morning, coz I was obviously nervous for my interview. And of course, I don't think they'll hire me. Other people who sat beside me looked more professional and experienced.

Now I have no choice left. I was thinking and my phone started ringing. And yeah! It's Momma. I've been staying at Kate's house, Momma would've never complained before. But now with the situation we are in, she worries a lot.

Maybe I should go wait for that Arrogant Asshole in the cafe. Well he might be arrogant but not actually an asshole. He was actually sweet and offered me a job, which "I" rudely rejected. But I was'nt rude. Well now I have no other option, so I'm gonna go wait for him at the cafe. It's 3:30 and by the time I reach there it'll be already 4.

It's 30 minutes past 5 in the evening and he still has'nt arrived! What if I was wrong and he changed his mind about the job offer....

Daniel's POV

That foolish girl! She walked out on me. What does she even think about herself? 4 in the evening? No other girl has ever ordered me like that. And she thinks that I might come tomorrow thinking that she is waiting for me? Poor Girl. Not happening!

It was already 6 in the evening. I could successfully stop myself from going. That girl is attractive but her tongue not much. I mean with words! She was a good kisser. Oh god! She was a virgin. I just can't take that thought out of my mind. I've never ever slept with a Virgin.

I heard a commotion outside my office door, I was about to go check out but just then the door opened and there enters my Caroline with my secretary running behind her. I smirked to myself.

I flicked my fingers towards my secretary signalling her to leave.

Caroline was panting with her hands on her hips and looking at me with intense eyes.

I cleared my throat getting back into my business form and nodded towards her to continue on whatever she had come here for. But I know why she's here.

"Is the job offer still available?" She asked as she straightened herself.

"Depends" I said not even looking at her.

"I need the job" she said and continued as if she remembered something "and the apartment!"

"Ooh! I did'nt know that yesterday" I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Please. I need the job. I know you know my condition. So then it's easy for you to understand. Right?" She asked innocently.

"Don't preach me" I said looking straight into her eyes.

"Alright! But I need the job" she said looking down, fidgeting her fingers.

"Okay-" I said and she looked at ne happily "But" I said and her smile came down a bit "Conditions applied" I said and this time her smile came down completely.
