Holding his wine glass, Li Hongjin expressed his worries, âIt is said that Tang Jinghong is incorruptible, not swayed by beauty or wealth. What methods can we use against him effectively?â
Jiao Liping pondered for a moment, âDoesnât he have any weaknesses?â
Li Hongjin nodded, âHe does. He used to have Chu Qingzhi, but now that she is presumed dead, Tang Jinghong has become even more ruthless and difficult to deal with.â
A man across from Jiao Liping added, âEveryone has weaknesses; he canât be an exception.â
Draining his glass, Li Hongjin felt overwhelmed, âThen tell me, what are his weaknesses?â
The man smirked with a meaningful look, âHe values his friends deeply; thatâs his weakness.â
Li Hongjin, fingers twirling his glass thoughtfully, asked, âWhat do you suggest?â
Jiao Liping nodded respectfully towards the man across, âThereâs no need to target him directly; targeting those he cares about will suffice.â
The man smiled in agreement, âBrother Liping is right.â
Li Hongjin raised his glass, âCome, letâs drink. We drink until weâre merry tonight.â
Chu Qingzhi, taking a pill from her sleeve, tossed it into the air and shattered it into a fine powder with her spiritual power. As the wind dispersed it, everyone inhaled the powder and slumped to the ground, paralyzed.
Everyone was shocked.
âWhatâs going on?â
âWhy canât I move? Has someone infiltrated our ship?â
âPrince, you arenât trying to eliminate us, are you? We are all loyal to you.â
âDo you not see that I am also incapacitated?â
Chu Qingzhi covered her face with a handkerchief, knocked out the irrelevant people, then removed the handkerchief to reveal her face, âNo need for suspicion; it was my doing.â
Li Hongjin stared at Chu Qingzhi intensely, âWho are you?â
Chu Qingzhiâs eyes curved in a smile, âDonât you recognize me?â
Li Hongjin became irritable, âWho are you that we should know you?â
Chu Qingzhi chuckled, countering, âIf you donât know me, why have you repeatedly sent people to kill me?â
âYouâ¦â Li Hongjin was nearly choked up, âYou are, you areâ¦â
Chu Qingzhi drew a dagger from her boot, slammed it on the table, âHavenât you guessed who I am yet?â
Jiao Lipingâs face turned pale as he involuntarily shrank back. Since he couldnât move, his face turned beet red, âChu Qingzhi, youâre actually alive!â
âYou could die, but I wouldnât,â Chu Qingzhi taunted them before sitting on the table, crossing her legs, âNow, I will ask you questions in turn. Whoever fails to answer will receive a cutâ¦â
Chu Qingzhi pointed at Li Hongjin, âThe first question is for the Prince to answer.â She twirled the dagger in her hand, âWho is Lord Yun?â
âIf you think you canâ¦â Li Hongjin paid the price for his bravado as Chu Qingzhiâs dagger flew across, slicing off one of his ears.
Everyone else, horrified by the cruel scene, shut their eyes tightly.
Chu Qingzhi caught the dagger back in her hand, âYou see the consequences, do you all understand now?â
Then she asked again, âWho is Lord Yun?â
This time she looked at Jiao Liping.
Completely terrified, Jiao Liping confessed, âNo one knows who Lord Yun is, those who did are all dead now.â
Chu Qingzhi paused for a moment, âWhere was Lord Yun last seen?â She asked the third person.
The third person trembled violently, âA month ago, in the eastern borderâs palace, only the Eastern Prince knows what was discussed.â
âGood,â Chu Qingzhi shifted her gaze to the fourth person, âHave you seen Yun Organizationâs big ship?â
The fourth person was utterly confused, âI donât know anything about a big ship.â
âWerenât you here at the meeting? Wouldnât you notice if a big ship passed by?â
The fifth person Chu Qingzhi looked at couldnât even breathe properly, âWe boarded the ship after dark. If there was a big ship, someone would have reported it, but no one did, which means there wasnât one.â
With no leads here, Chu Qingzhi didnât want to waste more time.
She swiftly left the scene, knocking out everyone outside, threw the unrelated individuals into a small boat, and let it drift away with the current. Then, she turned the ship to face the middle of the river.
Positioned nearly ten meters from either riverbank, she placed her palm on the deck and used her spiritual power to break the seams of the wooden planks at the bottom of the ship, allowing the river water to rush in, staging an accident.
The people on this ship were either high-ranking individuals from the eastern border or their offspring. If they were murdered, their families would not rest easy. If it looked like an accident, there would be fewer complications.
Chu Qingzhi then went to the deck and sealed the entire ship with her magic, preventing anyone inside from escaping.
Having them gathered together to plot against Jinghong and then stumbling upon them was unfortunate for them; they would not see the sun tomorrow.
Chu Qingzhi flew up into the sky, watching as the ship slowly sank into the water. Only when it was completely submerged did she leave the scene.
Elsewhere, the Little Thief watched in distress as people on the ship moved boxes of silver onto a carriage. He was anxious, âChu Qingzhi, why havenât you arrived yet?â
He dared not act alone against the numerous opponents and could only watch in frustration.
Suddenly, someone appeared beside him. Startled at first, he was overjoyed upon recognizing the newcomer, âYouâve finally arrived. Shall we take action?â
Chu Qingzhi, now the patient hunter, advised, âLetâs not rush. Follow them; there might be unexpected gains.â
The Little Thief nodded in agreement, âIâll follow your lead.â
The group finished loading the silver into the carriages. Seeing as the silver had mysteriously appeared on their ship, like manna from heaven, they hurried to stash it away.
One carriage after another set off, moving forwardâ¦
âLetâs follow them,â Chu Qingzhi instructed the Little Thief, and they proceeded.
The Little Thief, skilled in stealth and scouting, kept a safe distance, wary of alerting the adversaries.
The caravan didnât head towards the city but took a more secluded route towards the mountains.
Chu Qingzhi climbed a tree to get a better view, watching their slow progress. She decided to let them get a bit further before continuing the pursuit.
The Little Thief joined her on the branch, âCan you tell which organization these people belong to?â
Chu Qingzhi countered, âArenât they from the Yun Organization?â
âThere are many covert groups in the eastern border, Yun being the largest. That ship, having been idle for so long before being suddenly used, donât you find that odd?â
Chu Qingzhi, impressed by the Little Thiefâs logical analysis, admitted, âThere is something strange about that. What do you think?â
The Little Thief shook his head, âIâm not sure. They all wear black with no distinctive marks; I canât tell who they are.â
Chu Qingzhi smirked, âIf you donât know, why not just ask?â
The Little Thief was startled, âWhat are you going to do?â But before he could get an answer, he saw Chu Qingzhi swoop down and drag the last person in the line to them.
The Little Thief thought to himself, he would never walk at the end of a line in his life.
Chu Qingzhi, with arms crossed, commanded, âWake him up, letâs ask.â
