Chapter 51 - Can I Call You Dad?
After Getting Abandoned, I Choose to Become the General's Wife
To Fang Yaâs surprise, He Feng not only knew how to cook, but he was also good at it.
She originally wanted He Feng to help out, but when she saw He Feng applying the seasoning and cooking, Fang Ya subserviently took a step back.
He Feng had been out for many years, and although he was not familiar with the cooking methods of home dishes, he had a deep understanding of how to cook delicious food.
Soon, six dishes were placed on the table.
Tang Tang took a deep breath at the dishes in front of her. âThey smell so good!â
Seeing that Tang Tang was so supportive, He Fengâs smile deepened.
He sat next to Tang Tang and began to lay out the dishes for her. âSince you like it, eat more!â
âEat more and youâll grow faster!â He Feng said as he kept putting food into Tang Tangâs small bowl.
Fang Ya watched from the side and said helplessly, âDonât give her too much. She could get indigestion!â
He Peng sat at the side and watched He Feng continuously piling more food into Tang Tangâs Bowl. He lowered his head and poked at the food in his bowl.
Fang Ya noticed He Pengâs reaction and picked up her chopsticks to give him some of his favorite dishes.
He Peng raised his head and looked at Fang Ya. A smile gradually appeared on his face.
Fang Ya said to He Peng, âYou should eat more. Itâs the time for you to grow.â
He Feng turned to look at He Peng and nodded. He said, âIf you hadnât mentioned it, I wouldnât have realized how much taller he has become!â
He Peng raised his chin proudly. âI can already flip over the horizontal bar in the park!â
âThatâs right! Show me when you have the chance!â He Feng looked at his sonâs triumphant expression and a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
Fang Ya frowned. âBe careful!â
âOkay! I will be careful!â He Peng replied. Then, he mumbled a few times and said, âAunt Fang!â
Fang Ya touched He Pengâs head. âEat quickly! The food is getting cold!â
He Peng buried his head in his food. After a long time, he said, âDad! I want Aunt Fang to hold a parent-teacher conference for me!â
When He Feng heard that, he turned to look at Fang Ya and asked, âCould you?â
A smile hung on Fang Yaâs face. âOf course I can! Weâre family!â
Fang Yaâs words made He Feng and his son stare at her at the same time.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Fang Ya blinked, wondering why the father and son had reacted as so.
Tang Tang suddenly said, âUncle He, can I call you dad?â
He Feng was shocked by Tang Tangâs question and turned to look at Fang Ya. âCan I?â
Fang Ya immediately found it funny. âTang Tang is asking you!â
Tang Tang looked at He Feng seriously. âMom said that Uncle He is my new dad, so I can call you dad, right?â
He Feng listened to Tang Tangâs clear and simple thoughts and nodded in agreement. âYou are right, you can call me dad!â
Tang Tang waved her hands happily. âThatâs great! Tang Tang has a new dad!â
He Peng looked at Fang Ya and wanted to say something but hesitated. After a long while, he continued to eat with his head lowered.
Fang Ya knew that it was not easy to change He Pengâs mind.
However, she was not in a hurry and did not press on the matter.
After all, she knew all too well how difficult it was for a child to accept a remarried family.
After a good meal, Fang Ya took Tang Tang to rest in the room.
He Feng supervised He Pengâs homework.
It was under the guise of supervision, but He Feng was simply accompanying He Peng.
He was always away, so he rarely had time to accompany his son.
Even when he returned to the country, he had spent very little time with his son.
He Feng was very glad that his son was obedient and sensible, so he had not given him any trouble.
Looking at He Pengâs neat handwriting, He Feng could not help but praise him, âYour handwriting is getting more and more beautiful!â
âAunt Fang taught me,â He Peng said without raising his head.
Hearing this, He Feng looked at He Peng and asked, âDo you like your life now?â
When He Peng heard the question, he raised his head and looked at He Feng.
He thought about it for a moment, then nodded. âI do!â
He Feng reached out and stroked He Pengâs head before saying, âI donât have too many requests. I just hope that you can live happily.â
He Peng looked at He Feng. His eyes were filled with a maturity that was not found in people his age. âFather, donât worry! Iâm very happy!â
âAunt Fang is a good person! You wonât lose out if you stay with her!â He Peng said to his father solemnly.
âYou little brat!â He Feng could not help but laugh.
He Peng grinned and chuckled. âDad, when will you move in with Aunt Fang?â
âWhy? Do you dislike your dad?â He Feng glared at his son.
âYeah! I used to live alone in this room! Now I have to squeeze in with you!â He Peng said with a pout.
He Feng raised his eyebrows. âUnfilial son!â
The father and son were talking and laughing, enjoying the rare father-son time.
