Befriending the 'Monster'

- Ethan's POV -

It was a nice, warm, bright, sunny day. It was so hot that we got ice-cweam! I licked my ice cream happily as I saw other kids running around and playing. I got up and joined my other friends.

"What kind of ice cream do you guys have!!? I have bananana." My friends looked at me and they smiled. Everyone told their flavor. Strawberry... pear... apple, you name it. I laid on the ground and closed my eyes. "Haha! Silly! What are you doing!" Christian asked. "My mama calls it sun bating!" "Sun.. bating? Don't you mean bathing!" Christian said as he laughed at me. I pouted. I always had problems with my pronouncations. Thobias came next to me and petted me on the head. "It's okay! We know what you meant." He's my bestfriend, and definitely the best friend you could ever ask for. He gave me a smile and I gave him a grin back.

Suddenly, I felt an icecream against my nose. I cringed and a shiver ran down my spine at the coldness. I turned around and looked at the person who did it. "Leon... you're done!" I ran after my friend with my ice cream and he ran away screaming and giggling. I smiled evilly.

Me, Christian, Leon and Thobias were an unbreakable squad. We did everything together and we always played together on break time.

School ended. I grinned and waved bye to my friends as I walked out of the schoolbuilding. I walked around, looking for my mother. I spotted her and waddled up to her with my grin.

She looked down at me and scoffed. Her expression hardened as she grabbed me by the arm and pulled me to the car. I yelped, since it hurt. That made her grip my arm tighter and pull me harder.

"You're underneath sand and disgusting as hell. Plus, I'm almost late to my meeting because of your pathetic ass. Move."

She hissed as she pushed me to the car. I pouted and wanted to cheer her up with an apology letter that I made in class.

In it stood: Mama I'm sorry for being an annoying child. I love you.

I had written that since she was mad at me this morning. I waved it in her face.

"What could you possibly want now? Didn't I tell you I'm late?"

"It's a letter I wrote, mom!"

She got pissed off and pulled the letter out of my hand. She threw it behind her. I heard her mumble something like 'What a waste of time..'. I frowned. I had heard that before, but I never knew what it meant. I pouted and turned around to grab it. I froze as I saw a chest stare back. I looked up and saw grey eyes looking past my soul. I felt my letter getting pressed in my chest. I took it and looked at it. I looked up, wanting to thank him, but he was already walking away.

"Thank you!" I yelled before I got into the car.

(Few weeks later)

I grinned and walked up to Thobias. I held my little, grey bunny, like usual. I made a silly face that made him laugh. We talked about everything and nothing. School hasn't started yet, so everyone who was early had to wait outside. Suddenly, I got an urge to look at my left. I did and saw the boy.

"Thobi! Do you know who that boy is?" Thobias looked at him and nodded with a frown. "No. Who is that?" "I don't know.. but he is nice! Maybe he wants a friend?" Thobias shrugged. He sighed. Once I wanted to become someone's friend, nothing would stop me. He nodded. I smiled and turned around. I waddled up to him.

- Kaizer's POV -

Are you kidding me? What does he want now? Maybe to thank me. Yeah, whatever. I stared as he waddled over to me. I quirked an eyebrow as my eyes narrowed. I stayed silent and crossed my arms.

"Want to be fwiends?!"

I froze. What nerve does this kid have to walk up to someone who is twice their age, huh? Jesus, I shouldn't've given him his paper back. And what's up with his loud voice? God, he is obnoxious!

"Quiet."

The light in his eyes disappeared for a moment, until it came back. Suddenly, he whispered.

"Sowwy. Want to be fwiends?

I was astonished. I just stared at him for a few minutes.

"say 'r'."

His little face turned into confusion. His mouth was open as he looked at me in confusion.

"rrrrrrr..?"

I scoffed and leaned down.

"Now say your question again."

"Want to be fwiends..?"

"Are you stupid or are you acting stupid?"

"Stupid...? What is that.."

I inhaled sharply as I gritted my jaw. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic. PATHETIC! I am going insane. Jesus christ. Did I mention that I DESPISE children. Those little fucking gremlins...

"You know what? Yes. Be my guess."

I internally cursed as a smile appeared on his face. No no no... That was meant to hurt him. Fuck, I hoped he would back off after he saw me pissed off, CLEARLY not wanting to be his friend. But now he's smiling like the dork he is. I looked up as I heard the schooldoor opening. I sighed in relieve and grabbed my backpack as I went inside quickly.
