Chapter 110
The Princess and the Paupers Novel Full Episode
Arabella lifted her gaze, looking at the man before her with a blank expression and a small smile
playing on her lips. âI heard the cafeteria manager is your relative?â
Oscar blinked, letting out a sarcastic laugh. âDoes Ms. Bennett have a problem with me? Are you
looking to pick a fight with my family?â
Arabella chuckled softly, glancing up at the surveillance camera. Just as she suspected, the camera
had already been switched off.
âTurn the camera on.â Arabella instructed her assistant.
âMs. Bennett, what are you trying to do?â Oscar was clearly unhappy with her actions: âIf the cameras
here need to be turned on, itâs not our companyâs job to do it.â âMs. Bennett, itâs on now.â The assistant
Dean reported back after completing the task, speaking respectfully.
At this point, the cafeteria manager rushed over, mopping his sweaty forehead. He noticed the young
girl beside Oscar and couldnât help but ask, âMr. Oscar, this is?â âDidnât you get the memo? Weâve got
a new big shot in the company, and sheâs flexing her muscles right here.â Oscar clearly didnât think
much of the girl in front of him. Manager Dave caught Oscarâs drift but still responded with a smile: âMs.
Bennett, if you have something to say, spit it out.â
âThere are some meat pies left over from lunch. I just warmed them up, along with some other dishes.
Dean, please have Mr. Dave and Mr. Oscar taste them,â âSure thing.â Dean immediately set about
preparing the food.
Oscar and Dave exchanged glances, clueless about her intentions.
âMs. Bennett, if youâre trying to get us to taste the food to improve it,â
Before Dave could finish, Arabella cut him off with a terse, âPlease.â
The food was promptly laid out before them.
Dave didnât refuse, picking up a piece of the meat pie and taking a bite. âTastes good.â
Oscar didnât touch his cutlery; he looked impatiently at the girl before him and said, âIf Ms. Bennett is
inviting us to lunch, you really shouldnât have; Iâm full already.â âIs Mr. Oscar full, or are you too scared
to eat?â
Arabellaâs words made everyone present tense, and the employees who were sneakily watching the
showdown started to feel uneasy.
âWhat do you mean by that, Ms. Bennett?â Oscar asked irritably.
Dave hastily interjected, âThis was freshly made by the chefs at lunchtime, right?â
The two chefs nodded vigorously, though their eyes betrayed their anxiety and fear.
âI didnât say it wasnât freshly made.â Arabella smirked coldly. âIâm just curious about the filling. Whatâs it
made of?â
âThe filling.â Dave paused before laughing. âMs. Bennett, youâre quite the joker! Of course, the filling is
fresh pork bought from the market by our chefs, minced, and made into pies.â
âAre you referring to the minced âmeatâ made from soy protein chunks chopped up and mixed with
tapioca starch, a series of food additives, and pork essence? And the spring onions inside, replaced by
spring onion oil? Am I right?ââ
Everyone was gobsmacked. What? The meat pies they had for lunch didnât have any meat, and they
were all food additives?.
They all felt like throwing up.
âMs. Bennett, you canât just make wild accusations because youâare young. Do you have any evidence
for what youâre saying? If not, youâre slandering our cafeteria.â Though Dave said this, his eyes were
clearly shifty, and even Oscar couldnât hide his expression anymore..
âWhether the filling in this pie is fresh meat or not, wouldnât a lab test tell us?
Arabella looked at them, speaking with clear interest: âMr. Dave, when you were eating that meat pie
just now, you felt a bit uneasy and scared, didnât you?â
