Chapter 18
The Princess and the Paupers Novel Full Episode
Who was that girl yesterday?â
Once Phillip and the others left, and he calmed down a bit, he turned around and asked, âDid we thank
her properly?â
âWe gave her a check alreadyâ Carl said, full of admiration when he mentioned the girl. âWho wouldâve
thought a girl in her teens would be such a miracle worker!â
Truly, it was so unexpected!
âThat young girl just happened to pass by and fortuitously discovered your condition, going against the
crowdâs opinions to save you!â If not for her âinterference, Phillip would have probably passed awayâ¦
âShe is such a kind and capable young girlâ¦â In Phillipâs mind, a faint image of an innocent face
appeared. Although somewhat blurry, he could vaguely sense that she was a beautiful girl with a
pleasant voice.
Unfortunately, she was too young, and with Romeo and Serena already engaged⦠Otherwise, having
her as his granddaughter-in-law wouldnât be a bad idea!
âDid you note down the young girlâs contact information?â Phillip suddenly asked, âI want to thank her in
person.â
Carl was taken aback and quickly looked at Romeo. After all, he had asked for her phone number
yesterday!
You better not bother her,â Romeo coolly refused.
âWhatâs the matter? Canât I meet my lifesaving benefactor and express my gratitude in person?â
What Phillip was thinking was that so many experts and renowned doctors couldnât cure his ailment,
yet this young girl managed to save him at a critical moment. What did that signify?
It meant that her medical skills far surpassed theirs!
If he remembered correctly, the young girl was only seventeen or eighteen years old, and he happened
to have another grandson around her ageâ¦
If he could successfully match them, it would be a splendid match.
âDo you happen to have her contact information?â
Phillip remembered the look Carl gave Romeo just now, this kid definitely has her phone number or
WhatsApp account.
âI donât care, you must bring that girl here.â Phillip tried his best.
In the end, Romeo relented, âWhether she comes or not, depends on her.â
Phillipâs âplotâ was half successful and he quickly said, âOf course!â
If she doesnât come, it must be because sheâs scared of his cold demeanor!
Seeing Romeo ready to leaveâ¦
âWait!â Phillip looked as if he thought of something and added, âWhen you talk to the girl, be nice! Be
gentle! If you donât know how, let Carl teach you! Donât scare her away, got it?â
She might be his future granddaughter-in-lawâ¦
Romeo thought to himself: Isnât he gentle? Isnât he polite? Does he need someone else to teach him?
Carl also complained: My lord, donât hurt me, Mr. McMillian finally forgot about the Antarctica projectâ¦
âNo matter what, sheâs the one who saved my life, you canât be rude to her!â Phillip was afraid that the
young girl would be scared of his cold attitude.
Meanwhile.
Kenneth and Louisa approached the dining table, placing a variety of breakfast items in front of their
two daughters.
This is the chefâs freshly made pastries. Here, Bella, this is yours. Be careful, itâs hot.â
âSerena, youâve been staying at school for a month, and you look like youâve lost weight. Come on, eat
more.â
Serena sweetly smiled, âDad, Mom, donât worry about taking care of me. Give more to sister instead.
Have I ever lacked good food since childhood?â Louisa chuckled, thinking that this child was indeed
sensible. She hadnât tried to exclude Arabella despite her sudden arrival, but instead, she considered
her stepsister in everything.
The scene was much warmer than they had imagined.
âDad, this is the black tea you like to drink with pastries. Shall I get you some tea?â Serena stood up
and served tea for Kenneth, then promptly served Louisa as well
âMom, enjoy it.â
They hadnât expected Serena to be so considerate. Smiling affectionately, they lifted their teacups and
took a sip.
Serena seemed like the triumphant victor after a successful battle, deliberately glancing at Arabella
beside her.
What if she was the biological daughter? After so many years of living together, no one understood
their parentsâ eating habits better than she did.
How could Arabella not notice Serenaâs little scheming? Her gaze remained tranquil as water as she
calmly enjoyed the delicate pastries on her plate, seemingly indifferent
âDear sister, I donât know what you like to drinkâ¦â Serena intended to let Arabella prepare it herself.
However, before she could finish her sentence, Arabella casually said, âCoffee, pleaseâ
Serena was taken aback. Did Arabella mean for her to make coffee for her?
âYou really dote on your sisterâ¦â Kenneth misunderstood, thinking that Serena wanted to voluntarily
prepare coffee for Arabella. He happily chimed in, âBella, thatâs just how Serena is. She cares about
her own family a lot. If you refuse her offer, she wonât be pleased.â
Arabella looked up at her and said, âThen, Iâll trouble you for that.â
Upon hearing Kennethâs words, Serena found herself in a difficult position. But since things had come
to this point, she could only stand up with a smile and graciously fetch the coffee pot.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed Arabella was wearing a white chiffon dress today.
The fabric of the dress was thin, and brewing hot coffee required high water temperatureâ¦
If Arabella were accidentally scaldedâ¦
With just a glance, Arabella saw through Serenaâs little scheme hidden within her heart.
After brewing the coffee, Serena was about to pour it into Arabellaâs cup when she heard Arabella say,
âDonât pour too much.â
Serena didnât expect her to see through her plot so quickly, she gritted her teeth secretly, she wanted to
pretend she didnât hear it, but Arabella added, âThatâs enough, thank you.â
Serena could only stop awkwardly, smiling and saying, âSister, youâre really careful, Iâve been pouring
tea for my parents for so many years and Iâve never spilled it, are you afraid Iâll scald you?â
Arabella looked at her with clear eyes, a light smile on her lips, âI saw you almost fill the glasses for
Mom and Dad, so I wanted less.â
This behavior is also a kind of respect.
âBella, you donât have to be so formal at homeâ¦â Louisa didnât expect this kid to be so sensible,
learning table manners so well.
On the other hand, Serenaâs words just now seemed a bit petty.
But, Serena probably didnât mean any harm.
Kenneth lightened the mood with a laugh, âBella, Serena, exam results should be out soon, have you
guys thought about which university you want to go
to?â
He put down his tea cup, looking at them with kind expectancy.
After Serena sat down, she felt the need to put Arabella in her place. So she jumped the gun, saying
with a hint of pride, âIâll probably choose Summerfield College.â
Upon hearing âSummerfield Collegeâ, Arabella lifted her eyes, twinkling with an indiscernible emotion.
Serena naturally noticed this gaze and said with a smile, âAlthough many classmates say this exam
was hard, I found it easier than the practice problems we usually do. Iâm not feeling any pressure, Iâm
confident Iâll get into Summerfield College.â
âSummerfield College is the best university in our country, but⦠I remember you were planning to
study abroad, werenât you?â Kenneth looked at her, a bit puzzled in his eyes.
