Chapter 349
The Princess and the Paupers Novel Full Episode
âAbsolutely right! Even if Ms. Bennett really has a boyfriend, he must be a topânotch guy!â
âMs. Bennett, do you know why Mr. Collins suddenly came for a visit? Is there something important
going on? Heâs not planning to make cuts, is he?â
âAh? No way, Iâm scared stiff of layoffs.â
The elevator doors dinged open, and several employees hurriedly followed Arabella, asking anxiously,
âMs. Bennett, is Mr. Collins really going to make cuts? I heard he laid off thousands at the M Country
branch last month!
âOh my, I feel like I could be next.â One of the employees mustered up the courage to grab Arabellaâs
clothes, saying anxiously, âMs. Bennett, if Mr. Collins fires me, youâve got to have my back!â
âAnd mine too!â
âWhat if itâs me getting the chop?â Arabella teased them with a smirk.
âWhat?â The employees were all stunned. âIf Mr. Collins dares to fire you, weâll go on strike!â
Arabella was somewhat surprised and asked with a smirk, âReally?â
âOf course! Without you, the company cannot have this achievement, and so do us!â
âMs. Bennett, if you get fired, wherever you go, weâll follow!â
âIâm not joking or brownânosing. We all see how capable you are. If Mr. Collins fires you, it just shows
heâs blind!â
âThe future of the company depends on you!â
âYes, exactly!â
Arabellaâs lips curled into a smile, not expecting to be held in such high esteem by these employees.
She knocked on the conference room door, and a familiar voice came from inside.
ââCome in.â
Several employees followed Arabella in, and upon seeing Hans, they all greeted him, âGood morning,
Mr. Collins!â
Arabella also followed with her greetings.
âCome sit by me.â Hans patted the seat next to him, looking warmly at Arabella.
Seeing this, everyone thought they were seeing things. Why was Mr. Collins being so friendly to Ms.
Bennett? Surely he wouldnât fire her, right?
Arabella sat beside Hans, who said, âIâm just here to check in. Everyone, relax!â
He cast his gaze over everyone, but it felt as if he was speaking directly to Arabella.
Upon hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As long as there werenât layoffs!
After a while, once everyone was present, Hans first asked about the companyâs recent situation.
Several managers mentioned Arabella.
âMr. Collins, I donât know if youâve heard about the recent issues at the company. If it werenât for Ms.
Bennett, we would have been toast!â
âIf it wasnât for Ms. Bennett lowering herself to accompany me to the design competition, I wouldnât
have won the championship, and the company wouldnât have gotten ahead. In essence, Ms. Bennett is
our hero!â
The one speaking was Molly, who had recently been promoted to design department manager. She
looked at Hans and said very seriously, âSince Mr. Collins is here, I request that headquarters reward
Ms. Bennett!â
âAbsolutely!â
âI agree! Ms. Bennett has done so much for the company; she deserves a reward.â
Hans scanned everyone in the room and asked, âIf you all agree, then what should we reward her
with?â
âI think what working people crave most are high pay and vacations! I heard Ms. Bennett has already
raised our salaries; I hope she can get paid vacation too!â
âThis is a good suggestion; we all agree!â
Everyone present expressed their approval.
Hans didnât expect his sister to have such influence in the company. He softened his expression. âI
heard her college entrance exam results will be released soon.â
âAh? Ms. Bennett is really still in high school, huh?â
âOnce the college entrance exam results come out, will Ms. Bennett choose to go to college and not
come to the company anymore?â
âNo way, Ms. Bennett, we canât bear to lose you.â
