Chapter 1005
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 1005
âLet me tell you something,â he began, his voice filled with mischief. Whenever I was out with these buddies of
mine, lan would never answer my calls. He would just hang up on me. But recently, because of all the ruckus in the
Raymond family, he decided to pick up the phone. But I can bet you, he wonât show up here. Heâll call in less than a
minute.â
No sooner had he voiced this prediction than his phone began to ring. It was indeed lan calling.
Ryan didnât pick up. Instead, he bumped his shoulder against Majaâs in a friendly nudge.
âSee, he never calls me first. But now, heâs panicking.â
Ryan then hung up on lan right in front of Maja.
But in less than a few seconds, lan called again.
Just like Ryan had said, lan was indeed panicking.
Ryan kept hanging up, but this time, lan sent him a video call request.
Ryan nearly dropped his glass of whisky. He knew lan was desperate, but he didnât expect him to be this desperate.
Ryan was a bit scared now, worried about what might happen when lan eventually showed up.
He quickly turned to Maja.
âIf my cousin decides to mess with me, youâve got to help me out, Maja. Iâm doing all this for you. To show you how
much my cousin cares about you. If he didnât like you, why would he go this far? Iâve heard heâs in a meeting right
now. I guess he must have put it on hold.â
Maja didnât believe this. So, Ryan handed her his phone.
âIf you donât believe me, call Jeff. Ask him what my cousin is up to.â
Maja didnât make the call, afraid that her hopes might be too high, leading to disappointment later. That would be
embarrassing.
But Ryan dialed Jeffâs number for her.
Maja, forced into this situation, had no choice but to take the phone and ask, âJeff, whatâs lan up to?â
Jeff glanced at the man who was constantly on the phone near the floorâtoâceiling window and then at the
executives waiting inside the conference room. He replied softly, âHeâs at a meeting, but heâs currently on the
phone. Thatâs why he didnât pick up your call.â
Jeff didnât know what was happening and assumed Maja had tried to call lan first, and when he didnât pick up, she
decided to call him.
So lan was indeed in a meeting.
A wave of joy surged in Majaâs heart. She asked softly, âIs it an important meeting?â
âA third of the Raymond Corporationâs executives have left, and a lot of new people have been promoted. This is
the presidentâs first meeting with the new executives. Itâs important. But I guess whatever call heâs on must be
more important. Probably negotiating a deal?â
Majaâs lips curled up into a smile as she looked at Ryan, whose phone was still being bombarded with video call
requests from lan.
Ryan was sweating profusely now, scared of how persistently lan was calling him.
He was so frightened that he didnât dare to pick up the phone.
In fact, he was considering throwing his phone in the trash and running away.
One of his friends reminded him, âYour phone has been ringing for so long. Why havenât you answered it yet? Itâs
going to run out of battery soon
Frustrated, Ryan turned off the phone.
Maja ended the conversation with Jeff. After hanging up, she felt a pat on her shoulder from Ryan.
âMy cousin will be here soon. Wait for him in the booth. Iâm going to hide in the bathroom for a while. When you
guys leave, remember to send me a message.â
âlan canât be that terrifying, can he?â
Majaâs voice was sweeter when she asked this.
âHeh, not to you. Anyway, I need to hide now.â
Ryan quickly disappeared.
True to his words, Ján arrived at the booth fifteen minutes later. The moment he walked in, he spotted Maja and
strode towards her.
His appearance frightened the young men who were still rolling dice in the booth. Everyone knew of lanâs reputed
temper.
lan pulled Maja up and marched her out of the booth, his voice icy.
âCome with me.â
Maja didnât resist. Once they were in the corridor, she asked, âWerenât you in a meeting?â
âHmm.â
He led her down the dimly lit, alcoholâscented corridor filled with the scent of expensive perfume.
Just as lan was about to turn a corner, he felt Maja leaning against him.
He stiffened, thinking that the dizzying environment was causing him to hallucinate.
