Chapter 1017
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 1017
He didnât request anyone to pick him up, nor did he accompany Fitch. Instead, he made a call to Maja.
âIâm at the airport. Can you come and pick me up?â
His question seemed polite, but his tone was subtly urging her to hurry.
However, Maja wasnât the one who answered. She was in a meeting and had left her phone with Zoey.
Zoey, irritated by his presumptuous tone, coolly replied,
âMr. Raymond, Ms. Pennyfeather is in a meeting, and it will go on until noon.â
lanâs brow furrowed in disappointment, but he didnât say anything further.
He asked Jeff to pick him up instead, but halfway through, Tyler called him to discuss a rumor circulating in their
circle.
âWhat rumor?â
âItâs about Maja. They say sheâs been seeing her first love.â
lanâs body stiffened, his eyes darkening, âWho said that?â
âNo idea, itâs all over the place. While you were abroad these past couple of days, Maja has been staying inâa hotel,
not returning to Rosewood Manor or the office. Rumor has it that sheâs meeting her first love.â
lanâs grip on his phone tightened, âWhoâs spreading these lies?â
âIan, how do you know itâs a lie? Alma provided the hotel records, and I called the hotel myself. She was indeed
there for two days. Everyone knows her company is really busy right now, dealing with Funfly Darcy. How would she
have the time to just hang out at a hotel?â
lanâs tone turned cold, warning Tyler.
âDonât trust Alma.â
âlan, whether you trust Alma or not, why not ask Maja yourself?â
After ending the call, lan rubbed his forehead.
He hadnât slept in two nights and hadnât had the time to adjust to the time difference. He looked exhausted.
âJeff, drive me to Majaâs office.â
Jeff glanced at him through the rearview mirror and nodded slowly.
lan arrived at the top floor of Star Movie group and walked into Majaâs office without a word.
The people on the top floor whispered amongst themselves, but no one dared to make their curiosity too obvious.
Meanwhile, Zoey had already entered the conference room, standing beside Maja. No one had warned Maja that
lan was coming.
Maja had been up all night worrying about the marks on her body.
She was dragged into a meeting first thing in the morning.
After the threeâhour meeting, she felt drained.
There was a small lounge in her office with a double sofa. It didnât have a bed, but she could lie down there if she
was too tired.
She didnât notice a man sitting in the corner when she entered her lounge.
Maja was too lost in her thoughts, worrying about the marks.
She was frustrated and felt ridiculously embarrassed.
She sat down on the sofa and took off her work jacket, only to be suddenly embraced from behind..
lanâs scent enveloped her, his arms holding her securely.
This position gave her a sense of security.
But when she thought of the conspicuous marks on her neck, she hurriedly tried to put her jacket back on.
Lan rested his chin on her shoulder, his voice calm, âIâm tired. I havenât had any rest for two days, and didnât even
have time to adjust to the time difference. How come your lounge doesnât even have a bed?â
Maja froze, not daring to move, fearing he would get angry and storm out the next moment.
Just as they were starting to open their hearts to each other, she had gathered enough courage to take the next
step. She couldnât bear to be abandoned. Just like when Lillian said she was just going to sleep and never woke up
again.
She couldnât bear the departure of the people she cared about; now lan had become one of them.
Maja lowered her head, not saying a word.
lan stood up, moved from behind the sofa to face her, and tightly embraced her, lying down beside her.
âWhatâs wrong? Too tired from work? Not happy?â
âNo, Iâm just really happy to see you.â
A smile tugged at lanâs lips as he held her even closer, and they lay down on the spacious sofa.
âMaja, I never realized you were so sweet.â
Maja didnât say anything, her mind filled with concerns. Had he seen the marks? Why was he so quiet?
