Chapter 1067
Maja was too engrossed in savoring her food to pay any heed to the drama unfolding around her.
On the other hand, lan was propped on one hand, grinning at her, apparently finding delight in watching her eat.
Maja had polished off half of her food when lan stopped her with a gentle nudge of his finger.
âCold food, go easy on it. You donât want a stomach ache.â
Reluctantly, she put it down
With an air of nonchalance, lan reached for a nearby napkin, took her hand, and started wiping her fingers, treating
them like delicate pieces of
art
He was so engrossed that he failed to notice curious eyes on him. Equally engrossed in watching him, Maja was
oblivious to the hushed whispers around them
It was only after a long pause that Ryan broke the silence
âCousin, Tyler told me Fitch called you, but you didnât answer. He asked you to return his call.â
lan had missed the conversation as he was still attending to Majaâs hands, but Ryanâs words directed everyoneâs
attention towards them.
Surprise, jealousy, and disbelief were etched on their faces.
Ian pampering Maja just because she had eaten a crab had left everyone flabbergasted. What spell had Maja cast
on him?
Judith, grinding her teeth in anger, felt her blood boiling.
Her proclaimed affection for lan was being trampled upon by lanâs overt affection for Maja in front of everyone, an
affront to her status as the Sanders familyâs princess!
âCanât she wipe her own hands? Sheâs not a child!â she spat.
Her words broke the silence
lan neatly folded the used napkin and tossed it into a nearby trash can, retorting, âNone of your business.â
His blunt reply left Judith momentarily speechless.
Dylan decided to step in
âMr. Raymond, my sister didnât mean to offend. I heard the Raymond Corporation is expanding into the film
industry. Our families are likely to collaborate in the future.â
His words escalated the situation to a business level.
lan leaned back, his gaze meeting Dylanâs.
âMr. Sanders, you want to protect your sister I want to protect my woman. Thereâs a saying. He who stirs first is the
scoundrel. Maja has been quiet tonight, and she didnât initiate any conversation with your sister. If your sister can
keep her mouth shut, I believe we can coexist peacefully.â Just as he finished speaking. Majaâs phone rang. It was
an unknown number.
She stood up, patting lanâs shoulder, âI need to take this call. Let it go, and I donât think Mr. Sanders is a bad guy.â
Her words made lan grimace. He huffed and crossed his arms, his eyes colder.
Dylan, having his first close encounter with lan, was taken aback. He had only heard about lan during his
investigations in North America.
But most of lanâs past remained a mystery. No one knew how lan, barely a teenager, had taken over the
underground fighting arena.
Dylan wasnât fond of verbal confrontations, especially considering Judithâs genuine affection for lan, which put him
at a disadvantage.
Seeing Dylanâs furrowed brows, Tyler quickly intervened.
âThereâs a poker room inside. Shall we play a game, lan? Itâll be fun.â
So, while everyone continued their meal, Tyler led lan to the adjacent poker room.
The room was surrounded by large windows and filled with lush plants, offering an excellent ambiance.
Several other men joined them, with lan taking one of the seats and, surprisingly, Dylan sitting next to him.
Tyler brought another man, and the four of them began to play poker.
But Judith insisted on meddling, standing by Dylanâs side, instructing him on which card to play.
Dylan, patient as ever, tapped her forehead with a finger, âYou talk the most in this room.â
Judith promptly sat beside him, hence sandwiching herself between lan and Dylan.
After exchanging a few words with Dylan, she tumed to lan, her eyes twinkling, âlan, what card do you need?â
The stranger on the other side chuckled, âMs. Sanders seems to have a soft spot for Mr. Raymond.â

Judith blushed, âOf course, my feelings for him are genuine.â
