*Coco is as cute as a button, just like that puppy Penny, where do you live? Can I come and visit

often?”

This place was super pricey. The best villas were snapped up as soon as they went on sale. Seeing

Penny coming from there, it seemed she was pretty well–off.

Maja caught on to her thoughts and quickly cleared the air

“I just happened to be passing by this area. It’s a great place to walk the dog, with great views. I don’t

actually live here. I’ve just moved out of my rental place and I’m about to move again. I’ll let you know

once I’ve found a suitable place.”

Connie didn’t doubt her and continued to pet Coco’s head, playing with it.

Maja glanced at the sketchpad behind Connie and noticed that her drawing was only half–finished. It

looked like Connie hadn’t been here long.

“Arent you going to keep drawing?”

Reluctantly removing her hand from Coco’s head, Connie picked up her brush with a hint of

annoyance.

“I don’t have time tonight. I have to finish the drawing now. Ugh, it’s homework for tomorrow.”

*1’ll take Coco somewhere else to play. Oh, by the way, happy birthday. I’ll give you your present later.”

If she was going to a birthday party, she definitely needed to bring a gift.

What Maja had prepared was all the notes she had organized from her previous practices, all of which

were her most important painting experiences.

Connie didn’t lack anything. Giving her jewelry or something like that would be kinda tacky.

“Okay, thank you. Since you’re still renting, don’t splurge on a gift. I really don’t need anything.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll love it.”

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Maja didn’t dare to hang around there any longer, worried she’d

bump into someone she knew.

She was about to take Coco and leave when, nearly at Rosewood Manor, she saw lan’s car slowly

driving by. He was also headed to Rosewood Manor.

Maja froze, almost reflexively stopping and pulling Coco behind a large tree.

Now that lan knew her identity, was he coming to question her?

The driver, Jeff, noticed her. He glanced at the rear–view mirror and saw that lan was still in a meeting.

He wasn’t sure if he should tell lan.

From the comer of his eye, lan also caught a glimpse of her outside the window. He thought he was

seeing things.

He wanted to take another look, but the car had already moved a bit farther away. Maja had

disappeared in the rear–view mirror.

It’s Ms. Penny. She seems to be walking her dog.”

It seems he wasn’t seeing things.

When the car arrived at Rosewood Manor, he got out.

Maria, at the door, was surprised to see him return.

“Mr. Raymond.”

lan rarely came back during the day. Why was he back so early?

Walking into the living room, lan noticed that the woman wasn’t there. His brows furrowed.

Why was she always out?

His grandfather never mentioned that she had a stable job. To this day she was still working part–time.

After all, what the Raymond family could provide her was more than enough for her to lead a quality

life.

“Where is she?”

Mana was very respectful. She didn’t dare say that Maja was out walking the dog, because then Mr.

Raymond would know there was a dog in Rosewood Manor, which might make him very angry. “Ms.

Pennyfeather is out handling some business. She should be back soon.”

“Alright”

lan’s tone was aloof. He slowly sat down, apparently planning to wait for Maja.

His grandfather insisted that he go with Maja, so tonight Maja had to ride in his car.

He wasn’t exactly thrilled about it, but considering grandfather’s health, he had no choice but to play

along with this woman.
