Maja was about to take off, but she’d just texted Carol, so she knew Carol would be coming for her She

decided to wait by the elevator.

In no time, Carol came striding in, stomping like she was about to drill a hole in the floor

“Carol?”

Maja called out, and Carol, red faced and fuming, stormed off toward a suite on the other side of the

corridor

She banged on the door so hard her palm turned red.

Inside the suite, two guys and two girls were celebrating a birthday, belting out the birthday song

Hearing the knock, the birthday girl raised an eyebrow and playfully grabbed Felix by the neck.

“Did you bring me a surprise”

She asked this jokingly because everyone knew Felix was just an average Joe. What kind of surprise

could he possibly bring?

If it weren’t for her generosity and giving him some cash, he wouldn’t have shown up.

Felix chuckled about to say something, but the knocking intensified.

Another girl got up to answer the door.

Carol was standing there and locked eyes with Felix sitting at the table.

And the birthday girl still had her hands around his neck.

Carol gritted her teeth, stormed over, and chucked her bag at the pair.

“You two! Felix! What the hell are you up to behind my back?”

Felix was taken aback; he didn’t expect Carol to show up.

He looked sheepish, then panicked, and quickly stood up from the chair.

“Carol”

The girl who got hit by the bag was pissed off and ready to unleash a tirade, but another guy in the

room held her back.

The guy shook his head and whispered in her ear.

“I’ve seen this woman at a party before. She’s a big deal. We don’t want to mess with her.”

The girl spotted Carol’s bag, which was a new Hermes release.

On top of that, all of Carol’s clothes were designer’s limited edition.

Her confidence took a hit.

Felix, who is this?”

Carol fired back, “I’m his girlfriend!”

She turned her gaze back to Felix, grabbed a wine glass from the table, and tossed the wine in his

face.

Felix shut his eyes as the wine slid down his hair, soaking his long lashes. He pouted, looking wronged.

The birthday girl seethed because her celebration ruined.

*Felix, you’re something else. You’ve got a rich girlfriend, yet you’re out here dating me for chump

change? If you want to buy stuff, why don’t you ask your girlfriend for cash?” Felix looked surprised,

then tumed to Carol.

The other three tried to calm the birthday girl, suggesting they leave and continue the party elsewhere.

Upon hearing Felix was out for cash, Carol pulled out a credit card and hurled it at his face.

“If you need money, just tell me! There are ten million dollars on this card!”

Everyone else in the room caught on to her generosity and realized they’re outmatched. They promptly

made their exit.

The birthday girl was still not willing to accept the turn of events. “Yeah, your girlfriend’s bag alone is

worth a million dollars. If you’re looking for a sugar mama, why not turn to your girlfriend?” Carol raised

her hand to smack Felix, but Maja intervened.

“Let’s get the full story first”

Carol took a deep breath, lowered her hand, and glared at Felix.

Felix was handsome, but she never thought he’d be at a hotel with another woman.

Felix wiped the wine off his face, his long lashes drooping.

“Do you remember the pair of shoes you liked when we went shopping last time? I was just

accompanying her for her birthday, and I could get ten thousand dollars. I’m really sorry…”

Carol froze, suddenly remembering their last shopping trip when they accidentally walked into a store.

She really liked a pair of shoes, but the sales assistant’s attitude pissed her off. She never–thought

Carol later had that sales assistant fired. Her family owned luxury brands, and the entire mall belonged

She felt extremely guilty right now and quickly handed him a tissue to wipe his cheek.

“You wanted to buy me those shoes?”

Felix nodded with a look of self–mockery and disappointment on his face. “But your family is so rich,

and I do not need to do this. I was overthinking; you’ve been fooling me all along”

Carol was hopping mad and immediately picked up the card from the floor and handed it to Maja.

“Those people just now had the wrong idea. I’m wearing all knock–offs; they cost less than two

hundred bucks in total. This card belongs to my friend. Let me introduce you, this is my friend, Maja,

I’ve mentioned her to you before”
