Chapter 1478
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
She let out a sigh, and heard Patric echo it with one of his own. âMaja, I wanna go home, leave this
island, head back to Greenfield Gardens.â With a motherly gesture, Maja shoved a cookie into his
mouth. âEat up. Weâll talk once youâve had something in your stomach.â She dared not leave their
makeshift shelter under the bridge, especially during daylight. Who knew where those thugs might be
lurking? Escaping with two kids in tow was a foolâs errand. After munching on a cookie, Maja told
Quentin to catch some Zâs. But Quentin asked, âYou planning on heading out tonight?â âYeah, I need to
check on those goons from last night. There seemed to be two factions; one after me, the other caught
up in some infighting. They probably grabbed Ian, Iâve got to see whatâs up.â A flicker of something
passed through Quentinâs eyes. Should he stage another drama tonight while sheâs out? Heâd made
contact with his own crew, confirming that last nightâs villa explosion was the handiwork of Kâs people.
Forbidden Island was Quentinâs turf. Young but savvy, heâd kept it free from Kâs influence, though Kâs
minions were certainly around. Probably from the moment Maja set foot here, Kâs eyes were on her.
But out of respect for Quentinâs domain, they hadnât made any bold moves. Impatience nipped at
Quentin. He loathed that sanctimonious facade. The trio holed up under the bridge for the day. As dusk
settled, Maja prepared to leave, instructing Quentin, âIf those guys find this place, take Patric and run.
Forget about me. You have my number. Call anytime.â âSure.â Quentinâs lips curled into a sinister smile.
Tonight would mark Majaâs downfall. Once she was caught and subjected to harsh questioning. Maja
patted Quentinâs head, her voice laced with concern. âQuentin, youâre troubled. Remember, Iâm here if
you need me.â His eyelashes fluttered as he casually inquired, âThat Jellyfish Seal, where is it exactly?â
Maja froze. Why would he ask about that? âMaja, will you tell me?â

After a few seconds, she replied, âWhatâs there to hide? I did bring it to Forbidden Island, but Iâm aware
of the dangers it harbors. So I buried it in our yard on Outer Island. In the future, you can help me
retrieve it.â That yard? Impossible. Heâd never seen her move it. Maja ruffled his hair, âQuentin, why ask
about it? Do you want it? Itâs dangerous.â He shrugged off her hand, his eyes darkening. She was likely
î
lying. She wouldnât leave something so important in that yard. A cold smirk danced on his lips. It
seemed heâd have to rely on her capture tonight. Only torture would loosen her tongue. He had given
her a chance, and she failed to appreciate it. âI got it, Maja. Go ahead, Iâll take care of Patric.â If trouble
didnât come knocking tonight, Patric would continue to be his pawn. Maja made to leave but paused,
turned back, and placed a single piece of candy in Quentinâs hand. âThe last one.â Quentinâs palm
burned slightly at the touch. He instinctively wanted to discard the candy but feared being too obvious.
âAre you treating me like a kid?â âArenât you a kid? Iâll be back soon. Last nightâs mess wonât repeat
itself.â Leaving the candy behind, Maja departed. She could never have guessed that the troubled
youth sheâd met was none other than Mr. Gellar from BK. Sheâd seen his despair, his bitterness, his
sense of helplessness regarding his future â she knew it all too well. She had instinctively come to care
for him as if he were a younger brother. Just like she had, at that vulnerable age of seventeen or
eighteen.
