Chapter 1731
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Carol was livid, but she never expected the news to leak to the outside world.
She called Abner, but he didnât pick up. Opening their chat, she dropped a question mark.
Still no response from Abner. It seemed he wasnât going to talk to her until she returned. Taking a deep breath, she took away her
phone screen.
After the whole fiasco, the last thing she wanted was to go shopping for clothes.
Meanwhile, Felix hung up the phone, and Nathan appeared behind him, playfully nudging his back.
âFelix, were you chatting up Carol? You guys not planning on calling it quits? What if Listina finds out?â
Felix didnât reply, and just stared blankly at his phone.
Nathan realized Felix hadn't heard a word he'd said.
âFelix?â
âHmm?â
Nathan was about to repeat himself but then shook his head, âForget it, I wouldn't want to break up with her either. That's Ms.
Miller we're talking about. I could stare at that face for a decade and not get bored.â
He patted Felixâs shoulder, adding, âTomorrow's Listinaâs birthday; you got her present sorted?â
âYeah.â
His responses were short as he pocketed his phone.
Nathan felt there was nothing more to say, so he waved goodbye, âHitup tomorrow. I'll cover with you to see Listina. The
three of us can celebrate her birthday together. I've got a gift for her, too.â
âSure.â
After Nathan left, Felix entered Listinaâs hospital room. Listina was sitting on the bed, looking pale. She had been cheerful just
moments before.
âFelix, you've got work this afternoon. You can head out. Just cwith Nathan tomorrow; he mentioned heâs stopping by.â
âAlright, rest up.â
He reached out and ruffled her hair softly. Listina didnât say much, and just clutched the bedsheet tightly.
Felix gave a few more instructions before leaving, planning to go straight to his apartment. But Carol didnât return that evening.
He called her, but she didnât answer. He even wondered if she had decided to go back to the Miller family and resher lofty
status as Ms. Miller.
Abner had said she couldn't handle this kind of life. Then his phone buzzed with a photo - Carol fast asleep at the checkout counter.
[Is this the life you're giving her?]
Carol looked utterly exhausted. She wasnât used to this kind of work; in the photo, she was out cold.
A pang shot through Felixâs heart as if he'd been stabbed. He put away his phone and stood up, intending to head to the
supermarket where she worked.
But then, another message popped up, quite concise.
[I'm sorry about your family.]
It rooted him to the spot, draining all the tenderness he had for Carol in an instant. He even found his earlier wavering self
laughable.
Typical Miller family attitude - a flippant apology for four lost lives in Abnerâs eyes. A cold sneer curled his lips.
Just then, the door opened. Carol walked in, looking exhausted but her face brightened upon seeing him.
âFelix! Look what I brought home. The diner gavesingredients, and this tit's legit -they gave it to all the staff, and I
got these. Check this out.â
She was holding a box of neatly sliced shrimp, an item that would be pricey at the restaurant. She indeed was lucky.
Felix eyed the box and felt a sudden surge of anger. He snatched it from her and tossed it into the nearby trash bin.
Carol was stunned by his reaction, âWhat's wrong?â
âDidn't I transfer money to you? If you want seafood, go to a proper seafood restaurant. There's no need to settle for less.â
âBut a seafood restaurant is so expensive, at least two hundred bucks a meal. This was free.â
âCarol!â
His tone intensified, and Carol felt wronged.
âWhat's the matter? I chhappy with a gift, and this is how you treat me?â
âMaybe you should just go back to being Ms. Miller. This life isnât for you.â
He grabbed his jacket and headed for the door, but Carol caught the sleeve of his coat.
âWhat do you mean? Are you breaking up with me?â
âYes.â
Without hesitation, she delivered a firm slap across his face.
