The next morning, Maja still waited for lan to leave before she came downstairs.

She had arranged to meet Carol at the cafe.

“Carol, I need you to find someone to act as my husband for a while.”

The words had barely left her mouth when Carol, who was sipping her coffee, almost spat it out.

She coughed for a moment before looking at Maja in disbelief.

“lan still doesn’t know who you really are?”

Maja nodded, her hands tightly clutching the coffee cup in front of her.

In her mind, lan was the boss, a man of great wealth.

But as she recalled their night together every evening, she found it hard to forget him.

Aside from the intensity of the situation which had hurt her, lan was really good in bed.

And that thirty–second kiss, though short, was like a hook that tugged at her heart from time to time.

Maja controlled these emotions with her reason, so her gaze at lan remained unchanged.

Once she had sorted out lan’s house and his beloved returned from abroad, after he explained the truth

to his father, Maja could leave directly.

She hadn’t considered having any further relationship with him, especially since she had secrets of her

own.

Carol was slightly taken aback, realizing Maja was serious, so she started considering possible

candidates in her mind.”

Maja looked at the elegantly dressed Carol, her nails were professionally manicured, and her

expensive clothes and bags made it clear that she was far from an ordinary family background.

But Carol was with Felix Brown, who still believed she was a waitress. Was he really that clueless, or

was he just playing along?

Maja and Carol had different backgrounds. She had been framed in school and had encountered all

would work hard to earn money and buy me designer stuff.”

to hire someone yourself.”

“That’s it! Felix has a good friend. They’re both in the same financial situation, and he’s not from our

circle. He can definitely help.” Maja didn’t object. Felix was far from her circle, so the chance of being

found out was minimal.

“Great, can you contact him for me?”

Carol called Felix.
