Maja stepped forward immediately, showing a calm attitude.

“Mr. Raymond, you’ve already seen the original design. There have been some minor changes in the

construction, and I think it’s necessary to modify this area.”

She pointed at the position of the original pillar without looking at Carlene, focusing entirely on her own

design drawings.

As Maja appeared, Carlene’s eyes squinted slightly.

Is this the designer Dana mentioned?

She’s definitely gorgeous. It looks like there’s going to be a contest between them.

She couldn’t help but want to hold lan’s hand, but at this moment, lan raised his hand to take Maja’s

drawings.

Carlene could only awkwardly pull her hand back and glared at Maja.

Maja ignored her, simply waiting quietly for lan’s response,

lan had one hand on the design, the other on the black office desk. A piece of his wrist was exposed,

and the veins on the back of his hand were pronounced due to how he held the pen, showcasing a

strong sense of power.

He obviously worked out regularly.

lan didn’t look at the design but kept his eyes on Maja. Seeing that she ignored Carlene, his mood

lightened slightly.

“What’s the problem with the construction?”

“A pillar must be removed, which will directly affect some of the light and shadow effects in my design.

The sunlight received here will increase.”

Most designers might not consider the effects of light and shadow, but Maja, having studied fine arts,

emphasized these.

This was also why her previous designs could satisfy some picky clients.

Before lan could respond, Carlene interjected.

“lan, let me go and have a look at the site. You know I also studied design. Maybe after seeing the site,

I could develop some new ideas. I also want to be involved in the design of this house.”

She coquettishly re–gripped lan’s hand.

lan put down the design, “Penny, is that okay?”

He kept looking at Maja, waiting for her response.

Maja was a bit surprised. She felt that this sort of thing shouldn’t require her opinion; Carlene was the

house’s owner.

“Of course, I can take Ms. Shepard to see it right now.”

Hearing this, lan’s mouth tightened, his grip on the design became tighter, and his fingers turned a bit

white.

A few seconds later, he put down the design and calmly said, “Carlene, then you go.“.

Carlene’s eyes were full of surprise. She had initially thought she would be rejected because lan

disliked others giving their opinions on his matters.

“lan, don’t worry; I’ll definitely come up with a good solution!”

Carlene was very excited. Now that she could participate in the design of the house, she could

definitely move in with lan in the future.

She nodded to Maja, “Let’s go; lan has a meeting to attend. We shouldn’t disturb him.”

Maja nodded and tried to take back the design on the table, but the other end of the design was held

down by lan.

She looked at him questioningly, meeting his deep eyes.

For some reason, her heart started to pound, hurriedly shifting her gaze.

She tried again to pull back the design, but he still held it down.

Carlene had already walked to the door; seeing Maja not catching up, she became a little impatient,

“Hurry up, what are you waiting for?”

Maja gently bit her lip, whispering: “Mr. Raymond, your hand, it’s in the way.”

Somehow, she felt that lan did it on purpose.

Doing these little things in front of his girlfriend, the atmosphere was a bit delicate, making her feel

somewhat dry–mouthed and a little uneasy.

lan arched an eyebrow, then finally moved his beautiful hand as if he had just unintentionally held it

down.

Maja took back the design, not looking at him. The atmosphere made her ears a little hot, and she

quickly walked out.
