Chapter 284
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 284
Now the trio had made it to the second floor. The doctor who was leading the way pointed to the sofa
next to them and said.
âThe operating room for Cocoâs surgery is just over here; you can sit here and wait.â
After he spoke, he turned to Carlene.
âMs. Shepard, we need about twenty minutes to prep the cat; you guys canâ¦â
Not quite sure how to refer to lan, Carlene took the opportunity to say, âHeâs my boyfriend.â
The doctor gave a slight smile.
âYou guys can sit on the couch in the other room. Please follow me. Weâll try to be as quick as
possible.â
When Carlene referred to lan as her boyfriend, he shot a glance at Maja.
But Maja was just nervously staring at the operating room, seeming to not care about the title.
He lowered his head and followed Carlene intoâtheâother room.
Seeing that there was no interaction between the two, Carlene breathed a sigh of relief.
Once they sat down, she started asking questions again, âDid you notice the marks on Pennyâs neck?
Did she often show up to work with these?â
What she was implying was that Penny and her husband had a great relationship, and no one would
infringe on her marriage. lan didnât respond and just leaned back in his chair.
âlan, Iâm asking you a question.â
Carleneâs tone was a bit flirtatious, âDid she often show up to work with these?â
lan was reminded of their first time together.
There were more marks that time than this time.
âJust once.â He responded indifferently, seemingly uninterested in the topic.
But in Carleneâs eyes, this was proof of his lack of interest in Maja!
Carlene was completely relieved, but then immediately worried again. Could those two strands of hair
have been left by lanâs wife?
âlan, Holden Raymond probably really wants you and your wife to have kids.â
If you mentioned other women, lan just didnât care, but when you mentioned his wife, he clearly didnât
like it.
His eyelids were lowered, and even his eyebrows expressed his distaste for that woman.
Carlene chuckled, recalling what lan had said at the hotel.
âCarlene, remember that we have not reconciled yet.â
Her smile slowly faded.
Now was a good opportunity.
Just as she was about to speak, the servantâs voice came from the doorway.
âMs. Shepard, your father wants you to go home first. I will wait here; after the surgery is over, I will
bring the cat back.ââ
Carleneâs smile vanished completely; she became serious and stared straight at the servant.
The servant was scared into lowering her head.
Carlene took a deep breath. She had been too busy trying to please lan these past few days and had
indeed neglected her family affairs.
Her father probably knew she was coming to see lan tonight and he must have wanted to ask if she
had been successful.
âYou go back first; I will wait here. Donât let this happen again.â
She had just slapped the servant out of anger, but now that she had calmed down, she felt it was
inappropriate.
After all, lan was still here and he might think she was being too arrogant.
lan stood up at this point, saying he was going to the bathroom.
The pet hospital bathrooms were genderâseparated, but only a few meters apart. The menâs and
womenâs bathrooms were adjacent, with a communalâsink in the middle and a shared faucet.
Maja came out of the bathroom, stood in front of the sink, and squeezed some soap onto her hands.
There are many germs in a pet hospital, so she had to be very careful.
Just as she was lathering up the soap in her hands, a man came out of the menâs bathroom, stood next
to her, bent down slightly, and squeezed some soap into his hands as well.
Maja noticed that they were very nice hands.
Her heart gave a tiny flutter. She looked up at the mirror in front of her, and sure enough, it was lan.
He exuded a cool aura with a strong presence. His skin was as delicate as cold porcelain, his hair was
glossy, his lips were bright red, and he always seemed to fill the room with his aura.
Maja quickly made sure to scrub each finger. She was about to put her hands under the faucet, but
lanâs hand beat her to it.
So the water that flowed down passed through his fingers, and the soap suds from his hands all fell into
her palm.
Even though it was cold water, she felt her palm burning.
