Carlene sneered, “I’m off to grab a bite with lan.” She pointed at the servant in front of her, her tone icy.

“In two hours, you better call me. If she hasn’t found that cat, I’ll deal with her myself!”

She turned on her heel and headed for her fancy car.

Once Carlene had left, Maja turned to the servant.

The servant was a bit guilty about having fooled Ms. Shepard so easily, but she warned Maja

nonetheless, “You better find that cat quick.”

Maja chuckled. Did they all think she was a pushover?—

She ignored the servant and got into her own car.

Carlene had just headed to Rosewood Manor, saying she was dining with lan. Selena had texted her,

obviously wanting to flaunt lan and Carlene in front of her.

Her hands clenched on the steering wheel. She didn’t want to get involved in the Raymond family

drama, but it looked like Carlene was asking for trouble. The cat was just the tip of the iceberg.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Holden Raymond.

Holden was overjoyed to see her call. “Maja, what’s up? Has lan been bothering you again?“..

Holden’s voice was full of resentment at the mention of lan.

The mere thought of lan’s infidelity made him want to pummel the guy.

Hearing Holden’s voice warmed Maja’s heart. He was the only one who always stood by her. He even

trusted her more than her own father.

She only called to tell him about it, but now, she felt wronged, her eyes welling up.

Holden frowned when she didn’t speak. “I knew he did something. Don’t worry, Maja; I know Carlene’s

back. She didn’t marry lan three years ago and won’t marry him now.”

Maja sniffled, thinking of Holden’s health; she reminded him, “Holden, take care of yourself.“,

“I’m fine, Maja. You’re my main concern. Don’t cry; I’m on my way to help.”

Holden hung up and asked the butler nearby, “What’s Ms. Shepard up to?”

The butler had someone check and found out that Carlene was at Rosewood Manor.

That was the wedding house Holden gave Maja!

Concerned that Holden would get upset, the butler handed him two heart pills.

“Holden Raymond, take these pills first to protect your health.”

Holden glanced at the pills, knew something was wrong, and swallowed them.

“What’s she up to?”

“Ms. Shepard plans to dine with Mr. Raymond at Rosewood Manor.”

Holden was furious, raising his cane, “Bloody hell! This is ridiculous! Take me to Rosewood Manor right

now.”

Inside Rosewood Manor.

Carlene had dressed up especially for the evening, ensuring she was a cut above that woman. Then,

she confidently sat on the sofa, acting like she owned the place.

Rosewood Manor was incredibly lavish. After all, it was a property gifted by Holden, so it must be

famous in Greenfield.

Jealousy flickered in Carlene’s eyes.

You couldn’t just buy a villa like Rosewood Manor with money alone. Holden really spoiled that ugly

woman.

But that’s okay; this place will be hers soon.

She flashed a smile and turned to Maria. “Where’s lan?”

“Mr. Raymond just took some fever medication. He should be resting.”

Jan descended from the upstairs. Seeing Carlene, he frowned slightly.

Carlene immediately approached him, linking arms with him.

“Ms. Casson sent me to check you. She said you were having an allergic reaction and were running a

fever. I was so worried.” Carlene had deliberately not visited lan at the Raymond Group earlier in the

day, fearing he would refuse her visit. So, her sudden visit in the evening took him by surprise, and out

of courtesy, lan couldn’t just kick her out.

Seeing the two of them so close, Maria felt a bit uneasy.

Was this woman in love with Mr. Raymond?
