Chapter 366

Nathan had been stuck in his previous department for quite a while, always under the thumb of his

boss, but recently he got a promotion.

He’s always been talented, just not so well–educated. However, after shining in a recent task, the CEO

of Silverstone Enterprises noticed him and decided to keep him close for mentoring. He found Nathan

to be quite a handyman at work, so he decided to keep him around.

By the time lan walked into the private room, the CEO of Silverstone Enterprises, Judson, and his

assistant Nathan were already there, along with several other high–ranking officials from Silverstone

Enterprises.

Judson got up with great enthusiasm to greet lan.

“Mr. Raymond, thanks for coming.”

lan’s gaze passed through several people, finally landing on Nathan.

Judson is a sharp guy. Seeing lan’s interest in Nathan, he introduced them, “This is my newly promoted

assistant, Nathan. Nathan, come meet Mr. Raymond.”

Nathan was not a standout in the looks department, often overlooked in a crowd.

“Mr. Raymond, I’ve always admired you.”

They had met a few times before, but Nathan always felt there was something unusual about lan,

though he couldn’t put his finger on it.

After everyone took their seats, Judson took the opportunity to express his gratitude, ordering the most

expensive dishes on the menu. The restaurant specialized in business banquets, so the prices were

naturally steep, costing over $20,000 for a table of food.

lan was very relaxed, merely smiling or raising his eyebrows throughout.

Sitting beside him, Carlene could feel his gaze subtly lingering on Nathan.

After a few founds of drinks, lan put down his wine glass and asked.

“Nathan must be married already, right?”

His fingers idly circled the rim of the glass as if it was just a casual question.

Even though Silverstone Enterprises is a big name in the renovation industry, everyone seemed a bit

tense when facing lan. Nathan felt the pressure

most of all.

He didn’t expect lan to ask about him and quickly replied, “Not yet.”

lan raised an eyebrow, a hint of deep meaning flashed in his eyes, then he chuckled, “Is that so?”

The atmosphere became a bit awkward. Judson quickly smoothed things over, “Nathan is young;

there’s no rush for marriage. On the contrary, Mr. Raymond, you and this beautiful lady next to you

must be getting married soon, right?”

Carlene’s eyes sparkled, and a smile tugged at her lips.

lan lowered his wine glass and softly said, “We’ll see.”

He didn’t deny it.

Carlene breathed a sigh of relief. She had been accompanying lan all day, and it seemed her efforts

were not in vain..

The waiter brought in a new dish, and Nathan immediately helped clear the table.

Judson was very pleased with Nathan’s performance and patted him on the shoulder.

lan started to take off his jacket, preparing to hang it up, and Nathan immediately came over to take it.

“Mr. Raymond, let me.”

Ian furrowed his brows but didn’t say anything.

A crisp sound rang out next to his ear as Nathan was about to hang the jacket. Two small silvery–blue

objects had fallen to the floor

Startled, he immediately bent down to search but only found one. The other was nowhere to be found.

Seeing Nathan hunched over in the distance, Judson asked what had happened.

“Nathan, what’s going on?”

Nathan’s forehead was covered in sweat, his throat dry.

“A small–item of Mr. Raymond’s has fallen. I only found one.”

Sitting next to lan, Carlene immediately recognized the item as the cufflink she had given him. She

wasn’t pleased.

“That’s a cufflink I gave him, and it’s very important. How could you lose it?”

Carlene has a bit of a temper at home, evident from the slap she had given her maid last time. But in

front of others, she always pretended to be gentle.

But this cufflink was a gift to lan, and lan rarely accepts gifts.

Fear gripped Nathan’s heart.

“Ms. Shepard, I’ll look again.”

Carlene got up and looked around on the floor for a bit but didn’t find it either.

The object was small, and the beautifully designed but uneven floor made it even harder to find.

After only a short search, Carlene returned to her seat and said, “You better find it quickly.”

lan had removed the cufflink and put it in his jacket pocket. He didn’t expect Nathan to lose it.

Judson was about to say a few comforting words when the door to the private room was pushed open,

and Samuel walked in with Maja.

The Brown family’s business had a lot of opportunities to cooperate with Silverstone Enterprises.

Samuel had just taken over the family business. Despite his strong methods, he was still very keen on

maintaining good relations with lan, especially knowing that lan was here too.

When Samuel led Maja, she instantly read his mischievous smile and knew that he was up to

something..
