Maja Pennyfeather leaned back in her chair, squinting her eyes.

“Are you ready for this?”

Tom quickly gathered his notes, then started his summary.

He was in his fifties that year, but his mind was still stuck in the past.

More accurately, most of those senior managers had followed Neil Pennyfeather from their beginning

as a small company. Their mindset could no longer meet the needs of the Pennyfeather group.

After hearing those guys‘ opinions, Maja raised her eyes.

“We may not have any orders in the next six months. You guys have been in this industry for so many

years, don’t you have any other business connections?”

Even a small order would do.

But no one answered.

Maja had a deep understanding of those peoples‘ capabilities.

They grew with the Pennyfeather group from a small company; their mentality had changed. They

always treated the young ones with arrogance. Therefore, any innovative ideas from the youngsters in

the Pennyfeather group would be vetoed by those old employees.

Neil was also on their side.

So, for all those years, the Pennyfeather group had kept its traditional business model.



She took a deep breath, “Tom, Matthew.”

She named eight people in one breath, “I’ll have HR discuss your severance pay. Considering the

years you’ve worked at the Pennyfeather group, the amount I’ll offer is double that of other companies.”

Tom’s eyes widened; he thought he heard wrong, and he immediately stood up.

What the hell are you trying to do!”

Maja called out to the outside, “Come in.”

Soon, two lawyers walked in.

“These are my lawyers. If you have any complaints, you can talk to them directly. I guarantee the

severance pay won’t disappoint you.”

She slowly stood up, her gaze sweeping over everyone in the room.

“Actually, what you guys have done over the years is enough for me to sue you. But considering you all

are old friends of my Dad; I don’t plan on doing that. I hope you understand the benefits and damages

here. Whether to accept the compensation and resign or let me have the lawyers gather evidence and

send you to jail; the decision is in your hands.”

She picked up a file next to her, ready to leave, but the meeting room was already in an uproar.

Tom saw her determination, a hint of resentment flashed in his eyes.

“Maja, at least give me some time to accept your terms.”

Maja stopped, turned back and looked at the people she had named.



“You must complete your resignation handover within two days. Also, I’ve arranged a meeting with the

president of Silverstone Enterprises tonight. Since our previous partners no longer cooperate with us,

we should step out of our comfort zone and find new partners. I hope those who stay can work

sincerely with me.”

She nodded slightly and walked straight to her office.

The office was originally Neil’s, with a vintage style everywhere.

Although this vintage style might seem outdated, it actually had its charm.

Maja had the cleaner change the chair and disinfect the room before she was satisfied.

But for some reason, she felt like she had seen the cleaner somewhere else before.

However, the cleaner kept her head down and worked diligently.

So, Maja didn’t think much of it.

She did need to meet with Judson, the president of Silverstone Enterprises. In fact, Nathan had

previously called her on behalf of Silverstone Enterprises, but she couldn’t make it due to lan

Raymond’s interference. Now was a good chance, and she could also use that opportunity to push for

cooperation between Silverstone Enterprises and the Pennyfeather group.

Her hair was cut short and tied back into a low ponytail, revealing her smooth neck. She looked both

simple and beautiful.

She sat at the head of the table and looked at the two men standing up.

“Are you guys starting the report early? Let’s start with Tom, then.”

Tom was suddenly lost for words, stunned by her sudden entrance and imposing presence.

She seemed like a completely different person from just a few days ago.

She used to be formidable, but her long hair made her seem more like a beautiful woman men wanted

to conquer.

Now with her short hair and simple beauty, combined with her commanding gaze, she was even more

intimidating than Neil.


