“Maja, do you like lan?”

Maja couldn’t answer.

Like him? That might be a stretch.

Maybe the tiny flutter in her heart was just because they had had the most intimate contact in the dark night. He was holding her so tight, as if he

wanted to melt her into his body. Just thinking about it made her face blush and her heart beat faster.

Could that be considered liking him?

Probably not, as she had never wavered from her decision to divorce him.

Does lan like you?”

“No.”

This time, she answered quickly. After all, there was someone else in lan’s life, Carlene.

“Then you shouldn’t like him either. You deserve a man who only has eyes for you. lan might be a catch, but if he doesn’t belong to you, all his

After hanging up, Maja felt emotionally drained.

She glanced at her neck in the bathroom mirror. The red, swollen marks were clearly visible.

She took a deep breath and heard her phone ring. It was a call from Selena.

Without a doubt, Selena was calling to give her a piece of her mind.
