She looked up at lan, her cheeks flushed from the kiss, but her eyes remained calm

“Mr. Raymond, if you’re planning to dig into this, shouldn’t you start with their relationship? Or are you holding back

because Ms. Shepard is carrying your child?”

Just a while ago in the car, he said he wouldn’t cover for Carlene, but he didn’t mention a word about Carlene in

front of Lingery.

Maja wasn’t a fool, she appreciated that he caught the culprit who hurt her, but his deliberate overlooking of

Carlene was a fact hard to ignore.

lan’s hand was still braced against the wall, trapping her between his chest and the wall.

He remained silent, just tightly holding her uninjured hand, scrutinizing it.

Maja pulled her hand away.

“If Mr. Raymond doesn’t plan to pursue Ms. Shepard’s responsibility, then let’s just drop it. After all, I can’t really

confront her either.”

“Maja, you nearly disfigured her, what more do you want?”

Maja cast her eyes down, any warmth she had felt for him making things hard for Lingery had evaporated.

“Yeah, let’s just head back then.”

“Are you mad?”

Maja shook her head, she couldn’t possibly be mad, after all, he had Carlene in his heart.

But she wouldn’t let Carlene get away with it, regarding tomorrow’s bid, she would make the EverBest Group pay in

her own way.

Since lan wouldn’t trouble Carlene, she would.

lan remained silent, to him, Carlene still had her uses, the most important thing left by Eric Raymond might still be

“I’ve only been with you.”

Maja tried to dodge, but he already pulled away, took her hand, and walked towards the parked car.

He sent her back to RosenGarden.

Just before she got out of the car, lan was still holding her hand tightly, his fingers wrapped around hers like he

didn’t want to let go.

Maja had always known his hands were attractive, long and elegant. Her hand entwined with his made her tense all

over

Their entwined fingers, a common way of holding hands between lovers, but she and lan weren’t a couple.

As long as they could harmonize in bed, there was no need for these extra gestures.

“Mr. Raymond, I need to go in now.”

Her tone was indifferent, lan didn’t get out of the car, just continued holding her hand,

Hearing this, he slowly let go of her hand.

“Do you want to have dinner together tonight?”

“I’m okay. I’ll eat at home.”

“Do you cook at home?”

“Yes, I can’t afford a housekeeper.”

“You’ve hurt your hand, how can you cook? Doesn’t your husband take care of you?”

Upon hearing this, Maja turned and walked away without another word.
