Chapter 652
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 652
lan froze, his eyes fixed on her neck, contemplating whether to choke her to death while she was still weak.
But her eyelashes were trembling nonâstop, obviously scared out of her wits.
Ah, forget it, he thought, letâs not stoop to her level.
He went into his room and quickly hit the hay.
The night was peaceful.
By the time he woke up in the morning, Maja was still snoozing away.
After freshening up and putting on a fresh suit, lan didnât bother with her, he just walked out of the hotel.
About an hour after his departure, Maja finally woke up.
Memories of last night flooded back, but many details were fuzzy. She only remembered that lan had finally shown
up. What stuck in her mind more was the scene of being surrounded by a bunch of men, their leers making her
stomach churn. She couldnât help but bolt to the loo, throwing up, her skin breaking out in goosebumps, feeling
utterly sickened.
She threw up twice.
She hadnât eaten, so there wasnât anything to throw up except some yellow liquid.
She didnât want to spend another moment in that room, so she highâtailed it back to Rosewood Manor.
She had someone buy her a new phone, got a new SIM card, ate some stomachâsoothing breakfast, and finally felt
a bit better.
After a hot shower and a nap, she woke up and took a painkiller to ease her period cramps.
In the evening, she swung by the office. The buzz about Meetman Arkland was still swirling online, with fans asking
when he planned to start filming again.
Meetman was the first director Maja had roped in, and Shawn Walsh was the first star sheâd snagged. Even though
the company wasnât raking in the dough, at least things were starting to look up.
Meetman was a stellar director. Now all he needed was a solid script.
âMeetman, Iâll get someone to scout around the film school. See if there are any screenwriters looking for funding.
Donât worry, even though I only let you make films for my company, the script has to be aces in your books.â
Meetman breathed a sigh of relief. His face was still swollen from a recent injury, but they were just surface
wounds. So, heâd checked out of the hospital and made a beeline for Majaâs office.
âMs. Pennyfeather, Iâll follow your lead.â
The office quietened down as Zoey walked in.
âMs. Pennyfeather, thereâs a young woman asking to see you.â
When the visitor walked in, Maja turned to look.
It was Connie Raymond, just as sheâd expected.
On the night of lanâs injury, sheâd been at the hospital. She hadnât bumped into anyone else from the Raymond
family, but Connie had been there.
Connie walked in, still not quite used to seeing Maja in this office setting.
She bit back her words, initially wanting to wait till lan regained consciousness to ask him, but to her surprise, heâd
lost his memory..
âPenny.â
She called out, then thought better of it, âMs. Pennyfeather.â
At the moment, Maja was at a loss for words.
Connie gave the office a onceâover, finally accepting the truth.
Penny was Maja, lanâs exâwife, the woman she had openly criticized.
Connie felt a wave of embarrassment. She felt deceived.
âWhy didnât you tell me? I thought I could trust you, thought we were friends.â
Maja knew it would come to this, âConnie.â
Connie had always lived a privileged life. Sheâd been protective of Maja all this while, yet she hadnât known Majaâs
true identity. Sheâd even trashâtalked Ianâs exâwife in front of her on more than one occasion.
Realizing all this, she felt utterly embarrassed.
âI hate you, Penny, you deceived me.â
Connie immediately burst into tears, overwhelmed with shame and wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.
