Jeff muttered a silent prayer twice in his heart, all while shaking his head, “Not good.”

Maja’s heart raced as she continued to ask, “Did he hear everything I said?”

“Every single word.”

Maja was speechless. Taking a deep breath, Maja regained her composure and mustered up the courage to push

open the office door.

lan was sitting alone inside. He probably knew that she was coming and slightly lifted his head.

Feeling a bit jittery, Maja stood in front of the office desk and called out his name,

“Mr. Raymond.”

Just hearing her voice, lan’s anger seemed to be doused by a bucket of water.

He frowned, looking at her outfit.

She was wearing a short cotton jacket with straight jeans and high heels.

It was a very ordinary outfit, anyone off the street might have a better outfit than her which could make them more

attractive than her. But she had such a great figure that she pulled it off with a unique charm. Her way of walking

was even more captivating.

Seeing lan silent, Maja didn’t dare to say anything else for a moment

Pushing an empty cup towards her, lan spoke coldly, “Make me a cup of coffee.”

That was all he had to say! Maja was taken aback; she had thought he would go ballistic.

She quickly took the cup and went to the top–floor pantry to make the coffee.

When she came back, he was in a meeting with overseas partners.

She placed the coffee aside and sat down on the sofa.

After finishing the meeting with overseas partners, lan started an internal one for the Raymond Corporation. Maja

could hear clearly that they were discussing a script.

She only heard about an investment of 20 million.

lan didn’t show any signs of amnesia.

After the meeting, lan got up and tossed a briefcase to Maja, and said,

“Accompany me to a social event.”

“Mr. Raymond.”

“There’s still over a month until you leave. Until then, do your job properly.”

Maja gritted her teeth and reluctantly carried his bag and files.

They got into the same car, and she couldn’t help recalling last night’s events in the car which made her

uncomfortable.

lan was meeting a woman, around her thirties, with white skin and blonde hair.

The woman was full of praise for lan, and she was accompanied by several foreigners.

lan glanced at Maja and instructed, “Wait outside.”

Maja nodded and didn’t follow him in.

She wasn’t sure what they were discussing inside, so she found a corner to answer a phone call. It was about the

Skyrim Film Academy. Just when she was about to give some advice, she saw Samuel Brown and Mia Haskins.

The moment Mia saw Maja, her face was filled with hostility, and she angrily said,

“Penny! What are you doing here?!”

The hotel belonged to the Brown family. Mia had pestered Samuel for a long time to have dinner with him, but

seeing Maja again instantly darkened her face.

Maja was still on the phone. Hearing Mia’s voice, she instinctively covered her earpiece, but Mia didn’t hold back

and tried to attack–her.

“Why do you keep pestering Samuel?! Don’t you already have other men? Why are you still clinging onto Samuel?”

Maja couldn’t dodge in time, and her phone was slapped out of her hand.

Mia had always resented Maja, and now her eyes became red as she was furious.

Seeing this, Samuel immediately picked up Maja’s phone and turned to Mia.

“Can you be reasonable?

Seeing Samuel firmly siding with Maja, Mia was about to explode.

“How am I unreasonable? I’ve heard people say she’s got lan now, she’s so cunning. Who knows what tricks she

has used!”

The more Samuel protected Maja; the angrier Mia got. She tried to charge at Maja, but Samuel blocked her way.

Mia bit Samuel’s arm in desperation, making him reflexively slap her.

It was a reflex, not intentional, but the slap landed squarely on Mia’s face.

Mia was stunned.

Maja was also startled. Mia was a member of the Haskins family, Fitch’s sister. If a dispute arose between the two

families, she would surely be involved in that.

Mia touched the place where she was slapped, glaring hatefully at Maja she said, “You just wait!”

With that, she ran off crying.

Samuel also felt a headache coming on, “Maja, this has nothing to do with you. I’ll apologize to her.”

Maja had a feeling that she knew how this would end. Mia would surely forgive Samuel, but she would never forgive

her.

Seeing Maja looking worried, Samuel held her hand to calm her down.

Maja’s hand had been scratched by Mia’s nails, and a bead of blood oozed out.

He took a band–aid out of his pocket and applied it to the cut, only to hear lan’s voice behind them.

“Penny.”

lan was holding some documents, looking like he had just come out to find her but couldn’t.

Maja quickly pulled her hand back and walked briskly to lan’s side.

lan’s gaze landed on Samuel.

Raising an eyebrow, Samuel said, “Mr. Raymond, long time no see.”

lan didn’t say anything, just turned around and walked towards a nearby private room.

Maja nodded to Samuel, then followed lan..

But as soon as they turned the corner, lan pulled Maja over, looking somewhat annoyed. He asked her,

“How many boyfriends do you have?!”

Last time it was Beck, and this time it was Samuel.
