The light in the room was still on, but the two of them hadn’t moved at all.

Maja thought she would be tossing and turning all night, but sleepiness hit her out of nowhere, and she was out like

a light in no time.

Downstairs, Jeff had already arrived.

The boss had ordered him to come and pick up some clothes, and he didn’t dare to dawdle. It was Maria who

opened the door for him.

Having been by lan’s side for so long, Jeff was a pretty good assistant.

He threw a glance upstairs, catching no signs of movement, and then turned to Maria.

“Maria, did the boss and Miss Penny have another squabble?”

Why else would he be in such a rush for him to come over and pick up his clothes?

Maria thought for a moment. She hadn’t heard any ruckus either.

I’m not quite sure.”

“Maria, you should hit the sack. I’ll leave once I’m done packing the boss’s clothes.”

It was already late, and Maria, being up there in age, needed her–beauty–sleep. She simply nodded.

Jeff tiptoed upstairs, wondering if they had made any noise but the room was as quiet as a mouse.

He stood outside lan’s bedroom, ears perked up and listened for a while.

Silence reigned inside.

Jeff quickly put two and two together. Maybe the couple had made up, for now.

If he barged in right now, it would be all kinds of awkward!

So, he quickly slipped away like a ghost, pretending he was never there.

Thanks to his discretion, Maja and lan could sleep like logs till dawn.

When lan woke up, he instinctively raised his hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight streaming in.

His other arm was heavy, numbed by Maja’s head resting on it.

He was just about to move when he looked down and saw Maja nestled in his arms, sleeping peacefully. Her

eyelashes fluttered close, and she looked incredibly cute.

He froze, just staring at the ceiling, recalling how he’d fallen asleep while changing clothes the previous night due to

exhaustion and lost consciousness afterward.

Waking up to such a joyful sight first thing in the morning filled his heart with sweetness, and he felt somewhat

giddy.

He carefully turned to face her, staring at her face.

Ever since he found out that the night she spent with him was her first time, he felt guilty about what he had done.

She chose to leave him probably because she heard him talking about divorce.

She refused to go public afterward, perhaps thinking that he was into Carlene.

It turned out that throughout, he was the only one who had ever been with her.

Samuel, Shawn, and Beck were all history.

Only him, her ex–husband, was her true love!

Maja turned over in her sleep. The friction of the clothes made her realize someone was next to her.

She looked up to find his eyes filled with amusement.

She quickly sat up and relaxed a bit when she saw they were still dressed.

“lan, time to get up. I’ll drive you to the hospital.”

lan suddenly remembered the excuse he used to talk to her last night and realized she hadn’t forgotten even after

waking up.

As he changed clothes, he heard her making a call to the company.

“I have some matters to handle this morning. Meetman has already started filming. Don’t buy trending topics for

now. Let’s first sort out the issue of Shawn becoming Ford’s spokesperson. Once the contract is signed, give a

heads–up on Twitter. This is Ford’s first time looking for a global

spokesperson, and I reckon this will attract a lot of attention. Zoey, coordinate with Shawn’s agent and choose a

more serious script for him. He’s really talented. Start collaborating with some veteran artists. Also, see if there are

any public welfare ads recently, take one for free and build a positive image for him in the public eye.”

As lan was changing, he listened to her discussing the company’s affairs methodically.

When they were about to leave, she received a call from the president of Ford.

“Bruce, it’s me. I’m really sorry, I meant to call you last night, but I didn’t want to disturb you. We have received the

contract. I’ll definitely treat you to a meal sometime. Bruce, take care of your health,”

After saying this with a smile, she then called Wilma.

“Coordinate with the director to stagger the shooting schedules of both sides. Meetman will accommodate your

time, but don’t let the PHOENIX crew know you’re filming two dramas simultaneously. If they find out, you might get

scolded and become a target for netizens. Also, when you have time, bring some gifts to visit that girl. Don’t give

the media any gossip.”

Maja always took a hands–on approach to anything related to her artists.

She only let out a sigh of relief when she got into the car.

Ian was in the driver’s seat, and Maja instinctively leaned over to fasten his seat belt.

He lowered his head to look at her hair, couldn’t resist and lifted his hand to tuck a few loose strands behind her

ear.

“Maja.”

“Mr. Raymond, I’d prefer it if you called me Maja.”

‘Maja‘ was a name reserved only for those who were close to her.
