The car didn’t head to Greenfield Gardens but parked at Rosewood Manor.

Darlene was clueless for a moment, thinking this was another one of lan’s properties, not realizing it was Maja’s

mansion.

She was all smiles, thinking, had lan really gone all out and was he going to gift her a mansion?

In her eyes, he had already given her a million bucks, then half a million more. That’s more than what most people

made in a lifetime.

But how much would this mansion be worth? Possibly tens of millions!

With a shocked expression, Darlene looked at the mansion until she entered the hall and saw Maja sitting on the

sofa. That’s when she asked, puzzled, “Maja, what’s the deal here?”

Maja’s face was unusually calm, which felt a bit off.

But when Darlene remembered that she was carrying Jan’s baby, she wasn’t scared of anything. After all, no one

had done a paternity test yet, so everyone would assume the baby was lan’s.

She couldn’t believe that Maja, lan’s dumped ex–wife, would harm this baby.

“Maja, I suggest you get the hell out of this house. This mansion is a gift from Mr. Raymond for me. No matter how

much you suck up to him, he won’t give you a second glance.”

Maja heard this and didn’t show any emotion.

She just thought this woman was stupid.

She coldly told her bodyguards, “Grab her.”

The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, tying up Darlene’s hands and feet.

Darlene looked utterly incredulous.

“I’m carrying lan’s baby. If you dare to do this to me, Mr. Raymond won’t let you off when he’s out of the hospital.”

But Maja didn’t respond to her words, she just coldly watched the bodyguards‘ actions.

Darlene was truly scared at this point, all alone as she was.

“I want to call Mr. Raymond! I want him to see your true face!”

But no one paid attention to her, choosing instead to remain silent.

Even the ever–kind Maria, upon hearing that Coco was being abused and needed rescue, glared at Darlene

viciously.

Darlene had figured out that everyone in this mansion was hostile towards her.

She shivered involuntarily. Was this Maja’s mansion?

By now, Maja had walked up close. Darlene was tied up and couldn’t move.

All she could do was use the baby in her belly as a bargaining chip.

“I’m carrying Mr. Raymond’s baby! If anything happens to me, all of you will pay the price!”

No sooner had she finished speaking, Maja slapped her hard.

Darlene was slapped, dizzy, with blood at the corner of her mouth.

Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t believe Maja would dare to do this to her.

“Maja, you better let me go!”

But the only response she got was that Maja slapped her three more times.

With a tooth knocked out, she could only cry, unable to utter a single word.

Maria walked over and, seeing Maja like this, couldn’t help but shout, “Ms. Pennyfeather.”

Darlene originally thought everyone in the mansion was friendly. She thought Maria was there to persuade Maja,

but then she saw the small whip in Maria’s hand.

“Ms. Pennyfeather, it’s too brutal to hit her with your hand like that; it’ll hurt your hand. Use this whip instead, at

least it’ll protect your hand.”

Seeing this, Darlene couldn’t believe it. How could these people do such a thing!

“Maja! I will kill you! Once I marry Mr. Raymond, I will make your life a living hell!”

Maja took the small whip from Maria and used it to lash Darlene’s face.

It hurt! More than getting slapped.

The pain was so intense that she couldn’t even cry. The agony washed over her, and she couldn’t move, only

endure in silence.

Her tears were almost dried up, and losing a tooth filled her mouth with blood.

Now, looking at Maja, her eyes held not arrogance but fear, as if she were looking at a demon.

Her so–called friends only dared to verbally attack her, and she thought all women were like this.

But she didn’t expect a woman like Maja to be so ruthless. She felt she was at her limit, desperately hoping

someone would come and save her.
