Chapter 97
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 97
He scowled a bit, but didnât think too much of it. He turned and walked over to the table nearby and
continued reading his work emails.
The next morning, he was up very early, and Maria brought him his breakfast lan glanced around the
living room but didnât see the lady of the house.
Maria seemed to know what he was looking for and quickly explained
âMs. Pennyfeather was a bit tired yesterday, and she asked me not to wake her up this morning
lan remembered Neilâs hospitalization She probably came back from the hospital last night
But wasnât Neil just faking his illness?
His expression was cold as he slowly ate his breakfast and then got into the car parked outside
On his first night at Rosewood Manor, he didnât see his wife whom he hadnât seen in three years. He
wasnât sure if she was restraining herself or deliberately trying to get his attention. If it was the latter,
she might have chosen the wrong method. He wasnât interested in her.
He would never be interested in her
Upon arriving at the Raymond Corporation, lan gave Jeff an order âBuy some gifts and go visit Neil at
lunch.â
Jeff nodded in understanding.
Back at Rosewood Manor, Maria waited until lan left before knocking on Majaâs door, who had already
finished her morning routine and was waiting for Maria to come get her. âHas he left?â
âYes, he just left.â
Maja then went downstairs.
If youâre avoiding lan because of Selena, do you want me to tell Holden?â
âNo need, Maria. I donât consider you an outsider, so I wonât hide it from you. I donât like lan. I did marry
him because of the three million dollars in financing. If Selena doesnât like me because of this, itâs
normal. Once Holden recovers, Iâll divorce lan.â
Maria had nothing to say, so she just nodded.
After finishing her breakfast, Maja picked up the gift for Holden and planned to go to the old house.
Holden was living alone in the old house now, with many help and doctors around.
Perhaps because he had returned to his homeland, Holdenâs spirits were high. When he saw Maja, he
excitedly stood up with the aid of his cane. âMaja youâre finally here.â
Majaâs face showed a hint of guilt as she quickly walked over.
âGrandpa, Iâm sorry. My dad suddenly fell ill yesterday and I didnât realize that I had missed the pickâup
time. This is the gift I brought.â
The gift Maja gave to the old man was not bought from outside. After all, at Holdenâs position, there
was nothing he couldnât buy.
What she gave was a painting she drew herself. She was a bit embarrassed when she gave it to him..
âI heard before that you always liked Journey, so I tried to complete the missing half. I hope you will like
it.â
Holden had always lamented that the Journey painting he collected was only half complete. Yet even
so, it still didnât affect its status as a masterpiece. Now that Maja had completed the other half, his eyes
immediately lit up.
âHow could I laugh at you? Iâve always acknowledged your painting skills. Otherwise, Herbert wouldnât
have taken you as his disciple.â
Herbert was the representative of oil painting of the day, and his only student was Maja. However, Maja
was a very lowâprofile person, so she had never publicly announced this. Actually, Herbert and Holden
were old friends, and Maja had helped Holden before. So he really liked her, which was why he had
previously planned for Maja to marry lan. Holden couldnât wait to unroll the painting.
The painting only showed four people sitting on a luxurious rug, with servants attending to them on the
side. The surroundings were filled with rocks and trees, making it look very elegant. But this painting
originally had seven people, and the other three had been lost.
Maja had wanted to restore this painting since her university days. This painting was not just damaged
like other old paintings, but was incomplete. So, she tried to redraw it herself. It took her several years
before she dared to show it to Holden.
Holdenâs face broke into a satisfied smile.
âIf Herbert knew that youâre not participating in competitions anymore, he would be very upset.
Maja showed a guilty expression, âGrandpa, once I finish my current work, Iâll start painting again.â
âThatâs good. Your talent shouldnât be wasted. I really like this painting. Iâll have it hung in my study
later.â
Maja smiled, looking very generous.
âIâm glad you like itâ
âMaja, when do you plan to have a child with lan?â
After Holden said this, he started coughing. His eyes were a bit blurry, as if he was trying hard to resist
the discomfort of his body.
Maja knew that Holdenâs health was not good, so she didnât refuse him, âGrandpa, Iâll do it as soon as I
can.â
