Sweat began to bead on Mr. Haley’s forehead, prompting Dennis to ask one of the assistants to turn on the air

conditioning in the conference room. Summer was in full swing, and the heat was starting to become unbearable.

“Mr. Haley, I’ll have someone bring you an iced soda,” offered Dennis.

Mr. Haley offered a tight smile. He dared not accept any beverage from these people, lest Mr. Raymond perceive it

as a betrayal.

Despite being twenty years older than lan, Mr. Haley showed him more respect than anyone else. However, when it

came to Dennis, he was full of confidence, quietly sitting aside.

Dennis slightly flattered him. After all, he needed the 20% of shares in Mr. Haley’s hands.

With half an hour left, all members of the Raymond family within the conference–room had begun to discuss.

“I heard lan’s still locked up. Once the agreement is over, are any of you willing to bail him out?”

“Who’d go? His superiority complex is unbearable. Despite being our junior, he always acts so high–and–mighty. It’s

about time he got knocked down a peg. He needs to realize the world isn’t his oyster.”

“And Once the agreement ends, I’m taking Maja to the BlueSky Bar to entertain clients. She owes the Raymond

family, after all. Didn’t we buy that Rosewood Manor she’s living in?”

These people were not only eyeing lan’s shares, and they were even considering Rosewood Manor.

The value of the mansion was a testament to how much Holden cherished her, giving it to her as a pre–marital gift.

Who wouldn’t drool over a property worth several million dollars? A sale of that magnitude could finance many

large projects.

Their eyes gleamed with greed as they glanced at each other. At that moment, everyone else was the enemy.

In the end, all eyes turned to Dennis, the current leader of the Raymond family. Only his word mattered.

Dennis sneered at their behavior. He would keep the mansion for himself, and these people wouldn’t get a single

cent.

With ten minutes left, Dennis had already stood up, a triumphant smile on his face. He even attempted to shake

hands with Mr. Haley, but Mr. Haley remained seated, making the gesture quite awkward.

Pulling his hand back, Dennis furrowed his brow. He wondered if Mr. Haley was planning to back out at the last

minute.

Mr. Haley sat in his seat, his eyes expectantly fixed on the entrance of the conference room.

Dennis felt uneasy.

Maureen spoke up, “Dennis, congratulations. You’re finally the CEO of Raymond Corporation.”

The others quickly voiced their loyalty.

“Yes, congratulations. We should host a grand party at the Raymond family mansion tonight.”

“Invite everyone in our circle.”

“I bet lan will rot in jail for a lifetime. Serves him right, haha.”

“It’s important to leave room for retreat. He didn’t, and now he’s stuck.”

Their faces were flushed with excitement as if they were about to celebrate a great victory.

Someone called out to Maureen, “Maureen, you and lan used to be close. Ryan even quarreled with you over lan.

Are you planning to secretly help lan?”

It seemed like a simple question, but it was more of a threat.

In a few minutes, Dennis would be the head of the Raymond family. Everyone knew he and lan had been at odds for

years. If Maureen’s stance weren’t firm now, she would be ostracized by the group.

She had already sold her shares to Dennis and received a favorable deal. In the future, Ryan would have a good

career path in the Raymond Corporation.

If she were targeted, Ryan’s future would be uncertain. Her position in the Raymond family would be in jeopardy,

and even her husband’s job could be affected.

“Of course not. lan is wrong this time, and I won’t help him. I’ll even let the police know that he should stay in jail to

reflect on his actions. As for Maja, when I have time. I’ll deal with her. What she took was ours. I will always support

Dennis.”

Everyone nodded in agreement, and Dennis also showed a satisfied smile.
