Chapter 989
Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode
Chapter 989
Fitch strode over from a distance, a solemn expression etched on his face.
âlan, Iâve been warned by the higherâups not to dig any further into Ericâs affairs.â
His current knowledge was limited to what the Haskins family had shared, that Eric had been involved in human
experimentation, a globally prohibited act. If the secret were out, every country involved would face international
condemnation.
No one could afford such consequences.
lanâs gaze was fixed on his computer, still reading that cryptic poem, the only clue they had.
Fitch, however, shut down the computer and packed up all the documents,
âThe situation with Eric is complicated. We wonât get anywhere in the short term. It would be helpful if we could find
someone who had recent contact with him, but weâve got nothing.â
lan put down the documents he held.
âIâm heading home.â
âArenât you supposed to meet someone from the Sanders family? I heard theyâve been delivering meals to you
recently.â
lan didnât respond to that, heading straight back to Greenfield Gardens.
Ryan was already waiting on the sofa, bearing a gift bought from abroad, a tie clip.
lan didnât look at the gift. He first took off his cufflinks, tossed them into a box, removed his suit jacket, and then
sank into the couch.
âCousin, is that true about you and Judith? Everyoneâs saying you two are together. Are you over Penny?â
âDid she tell you that?â
He was referring to Maja.
âNo, I just called Penny, and she sounded rather down!â
âShe was upset?â
lan was a bit skeptical, pressing his lips together, âIâll find you a position at Raymond Corporation. You can start
working there.â
Ryan suddenly became anxious.
âCousin, I didnât come here for that.â
âI know, but you need to do something.â.
Ryan abruptly stood.
âI have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of my life. I donât need to do anything. You can say I lack
ambition or that Iâm a pushover. donât care. Whatâs all this money for? You canât bring it with you when you die.
Being born into the Raymond family was my good fortune. I donât need to work. I think as long as youâre happy,
thatâs all that matters.â
lan had already stood up, intending to head upstairs.
Upon hearing Ryanâs words, âIf I find a woman I like. Iâll pursue her with all my might, regardless of her status. You
all probably thought my exâgirlfriend wasnât good enough because she was just a receptionist. But she was sweet
and made me happy. Iâm fickle, and there will be others. But at least when we were together. I was genuine. I
wouldnât be like you, cousin, too afraid to chase the one you love.â
The creases in lanâs forehead deepened. He was about to say something when Ryan had already pushed the door
open and left.
When lan stepped out of the shower, his mind replayed Ryanâs words.
Too afraid to chase the one he loved.
He chuckled bitterly. It wasnât that he hadnât tried, but she was already taken.
He opened Twitter on his phone and checked the current public opinion. Everyone was still criticizing Funfly.
He clicked on Majaâs Twitter.
She hadnât posted much lately, but the few tweets she had made had seen a steady increase in comments. The last
one had received two million
comments.
lan didnât have a Twitter account. Even though many people had watched his interviews before, he had never
created one.
Maja had only made a few posts. He quickly scrolled through them.
He then clicked on her Facebook account. Now, he finally understood why she was reluctant to give him her
personal number.
He already had it.
He went through Majaâs Facebook on both her work and personal accounts. The work account had more activity,
including a few posts about Coco and one about Rocky.
But her personal account was surprisingly quiet, with only two posts.
As boring as she was.
But then again, she didnât seem to have many relatives, so there probably werenât many contacts on her personal
account.
A pang of pain gripped his heart.
