Colton's POV

Who the hell is the sender?

"Susan, call Alex now."

"Yes, Sir."

Alex came in my office.

"What?"

"I want you to check who is the sender of this letter." I handed him the letter.

He read the letter. And shocked was shown on his face.

"It's a threaten! Do you think that the sender related to Cornelia?"

"Obviously. The sender call Lia her/his niece."

"Okay. I'll go to our investigator department. And I'll be back here when I get the result."

"Sure. Be quick."

I walked out from the meeting room. I've got a full schedule today. Meetings were in row.

"Colton!" Alex shouted from the end of the coridor.

"How is it going, Alex?"

"You will not be happy about this."

"What is it?"

"See it by yourself. Let's go to the investigator office."

We rushed to the investigator room.

"Good afternoon, Sir." Max said. Max is one of our best investigator.

"Afternoon, Max. How is things?"

"I'm sorry, Sir. I've tried my best. But the person seems to expect this. We can't access to anything. We even can't know where it come from. But he send you another message." He showed me the computer screen.

There was a message written there.

"Dear Colton,

Haha. Very funny, Colton. I knew you will do an investigating on this. But I'm not stupid you know.

Your beloved,

Someone"

Shit! This person knew how to play the game. Should I ask her by myself?

After I came back from work, I stopped by Kallum's new house to meet Lia. I must asked her. I must get her forgiveness. I can't stand being without her. I miss her so damn much.

I knocked the door.

"Who is this?" A voice from intercom said.

"It's Colton. Can I meet Cornelia?"

No one answered me. But after a few minutes the door was wide opened.

It's Kallum. As soon as he saw my face, he punched me. Shit! Today I was punch twice!

"What do you want to do with Lia!" He shouted.

"I just came here to say that I'm sorry. I know that what I did was horrible. I want to ask her forgiveness."

"What you have done is more than horrible! And I have told you that I don't want you near Lia ever again!"

"But please let me meet her, just this one."

"No! Never! You betrayed her more than once! The fact that you slept with Cassandra has hurt her. And this morning, she received a letter from Jacob. That letter has many photos of you slept with many girls! And she has never stopped crying all this entire time! You are still a bastard that I know."

What? So Lia has known about that? Damn!

"I know that I've hurt her. But I want to change. I can promise her that."

"No! Don't promise something that you can't keep! Now go!"

"Please. I love her. It's not fake. I truly love her."

"No, you don't love her. You just hurt her. Go!"

"Then let me talk to her about her uncle or auntie. She or he has been sending letter and message to me. It's all abou threathen."

"What?"

"Let me.." He cut me off.

"I know. I hear that. But threaten? He threathen you?"

"He? So Lia has an uncle?"

"Yeah. We have an uncle from our father. He has a son. Dmitri is his son."

"What? Dmitri? Oh shit! In the past years, I have to deal with this guy. And now I have to deal with that guy and his father!"

"But is it true that he threaten you?"

"Yeah. He asked me to be careful. Can I talk to her? I need to know what's happen. If he going to hurt Lia, I need to protect her."

"No. You still can't meet her. And no. You don't need to protect her. I will protect her. Now leave, Colton. Before I call the security to drag you out."

I did as he said. I went out from their house.

So Dmitri and his father were looking for trouble? What did they want to do with me? What did they want to do with my company? What did they want to do with Lia?

And how can he get all those photos? I knew I should have told her about that sooner or later. But not this soon. It would hurt her even more.

Eh! What? Hurt? Kallum said she was hurt and crying? Does she has the same feeling like me? Does she love me?

But it's not my main problem now. I need to know what's Jacob searching for. I need to found it out soon. I couldn't risk something or someone.

I need to be sure that Lia was safe. If being far away from her is this hurtful. Then if I lost her, it will even be more hurtful than this.

I took my phone from my pocket. I called Alex.

"Alex, search all information you can get about Lia, Kallum, Dmitri and Jacob."

"What for? Who is Jacob?"

"Jacob is Lia's uncle. He sent Lia photos of me with all the random girls I've been with."

"What? You've slept with random girls again?"

"Sadly, yes. I've done that when I was in Jeju."

"Colton! As I remember, you told me that you will stop doing that!"

"I stopped! But when I was depressed, frustated and really angry, I couldn't help but vent all of that feeling. And I relized what I've done was crazy!"

"You need to solve your problems soon, Colton. Your life is such a mess now."

"I know." I ended the call.

Cornelia's POV

I watched Kallum enter the house. Tori was still here with me all the time.

"How are you doing, baby girl?"

"I'm fine, Kallum." My eyes were swollen because I cried for a long time.

"She has stopped crying when she heard that Colton is here." Tori said. I knew she was joking

"Good. Don't cry. He isn't worth enough for your tears." I smiled to him.

"So, what are you and Colton talking about?"

"You."

"Why do you talking about me?"

"It's night already. Let's eat dinner. Tori, you should join us."

"Kallum, don't try to change the subject!"

He let out a sigh. "Okay. We talk about you because.. He wants to say sorry. He wants to ask for your forgiveness."

I felt the pain again. I cried. He wanted me to forgive him? He betrayed me more than once! I knew our relationship is fake. But still, he betrayed me. Tori patted my back.

"Uugghh.. Don't cry again, baby girl."

I tried to stop crying. Tori even showed me how to calm down and breath.

"Lia, I know it's not the perfect time. But I need to tell you this." He straighten his seat. I and Tori did the same too.

"Listen. I think Jacob has started his game. It seems that he didn't only play with you. He plays with Colton as well."

"Colton?" Tori asked.

"Yes. He sent Colton messages and letter. He asked him to be careful. I don't know what's his problem with Colton. But he may be after Colton's wealth and you. You know how greedy he is."

Silence. No one speak. Even the noisy Tori was silent.

Is it because of me that Jacob was after Colton? Is it my fault?

"Kallum, maybe it's because of me."

"What?"

"All his problem. Maybe it's because of me."

"How can you think like that?"

"If you look carefully. His life was perfect before he meets me. And now his life is a mess."

"That goes for you too, Lia! I'm your bestfriend. I know all your problems when you meet him!" Tori said.

"My life was a mess since Jacob stole our company!"

"I know. But your life just become messier after you met him!"

"Cut it out, girls. It's not the best time to fight."

"We are not fighting. I just want to tell her that it's not because of her."

"So you think that his life become like that just because of you?"

"Not JUST because of me. But I took some parts."

I sighed. I'm tired. All this crying times, made my eyes swollen and tired.

"You know, if he doesn't come near me. Then Jacob will not looking for trouble with him."

"But it's his choice. He is the one who hired you."

"For that reason I said that I took some parts. It's his choice. But I agree to it."

"Lia, it's best if you don't come near him. It's best for you and him. I will help him out of this Jacob's trouble."

Silence was filling the atmospher.

"No. I will help him. It's his and my problem. We have to face it together. I will not let Jacob go near him."

"What?!" Both Tori and Kallum shouted at me.
