Chapter 20:

The Ex-wife of the Billionaire

"At least she is better than you!"

"She is better than me? Wow! Even after knowing that she is the reason you don't have a family?" I slow clap in mockery. The person standing in front of me was just unbelievable till sun and back to earth. Would it hurt if I punched him?

"I wouldn't have had a family with a whore like you anyway!" Those words flowed out of his mouth so smoothly that I was shocked for a moment that he did not shutter while saying THE word. Alice had explained him the truth earlier today, wasn't that? If she did, why would he degrade me in such manner?

"What did Alice say about lying to you?" I asked, to know the truth and the game she began again.

"Why does that matter?"

In rage, I stepped forward and grabbed his collar bringing us face to face. My harsh breath fanned his face as did his to mine. "What did she say?" The tone I used was unbelievably doubtful for me too if it was from me or not. Chills ran down my own spine at the steel and demanding voice I mustered. I guess the Princessa lessons were paying off.

"That she shouldn't have judged you. That she shouldn't have assumed the baby was not mine. But she is sorry for that and that's enough. She accepted her mistake and further more did not extend her lies in denial, unlike some people do." The last words were meant to strike me, and they did. The blindfold and spell she had cast on him, made him a despicable fool for me. The lies she had coated the truth with, would withdraw someday and hit her back on her face.

"She did not say the whole truth, did she? How will she? After all, she is a lying bitch." How mindless was for me to assume that she would spill out the truth.

I make many false assumptions and mistakes as well, don't I? That's the reason I am here.

"So...She is still hiding the truth from you. How can you let her fool you? tsk. tsk." I looked at him with pity and did not step back to show how much I pitied him.

"She doesn't lie."

"Ah...you've got it wrong there. You called me a whore, isn't it? But darling, she is the real whore. She snatched my husband away and not me." The words just came out in a way the queen bee in a high school talks. I never thought I had this capability resting in me peacefully, until Samuel dragged it out. Thanks anyway, I needed a little bitch-iness.

"Don't call her that!" His hard voice would jerk an ice bar but not me. His veins were more visible due to anger and his eyes turned a dangerous shade of stormy gray.

If it was 6 years back, I would've calmed him down with a feather touch from me. But now, I was waiting for my hard fist to smack his lovely face. So much trust is not good for health, as said by doctors.

"What do you call a whore other than that? Let me think," I internally frown at my out of the manner behavior before shouting, "Yes, a slut."

"One more time and it won't be good," he warned, which I had to mention, did not originate a speck of fear in my body. I was still standing with my chin thrusted up, shoulders squared and an evil smile gracing my lips, "Slut, slut, slut.."

"Enough!" His voice boomed. The swiveling wind resulted in a rustle sound from the trees around us, though there weren't many, just adding a movie effect.

"Slut." I smirked at my own words. What could he do? Possibly yell a one or two profanities. But, by the end, he would fail to gain the argument.

But he did the least I had expected. He took a long strand towards me and swung his hand in the air. In the motion where he tried to hit me, I froze in the spot, unable to digest the fact that he could, indeed, raise his hand. I waited for the burning of any body part and a deafening cry of sound from me, but none happened.

Instead, I saw Sein blocking Samuel's hand and punching him square in the face. "You Bast*ard! Don't you have any sense of how to treat woman." Sein's voice jerked me from the spot.

I took a good two second to calm my breath. If Sein wasn't here by time, would have Samuel slapped me? Maybe, yes. Maybe, no. But most probably, yes. I look at Sein and Samuel rolling on the floor, in an attempt to land an effective punch on their opponent. I did not try to separate those two. I did not try to move, either. The truth was harsh.

Samuel tried to slap me. Everything happened because of her.

I tightened my fist and yelled at once, "Sein!" My worry for him was the least. Even though, Samuel seemed like a tough guy when compared to Sein, Sein had a hand over Samuel. Looks could be deceiving, they said. They said right.

They both did not even freeze for a second to comprehend whose voice it was but continued punching each other like two monkeys for a banana. This just heightened my level of losing sanity.

I hastily took steps forward, by the old tree where they were trying to pin each other down, and yelled again, "Sein!"

Still, there was no acknowledgement. At one point, when they both stood up after floor dance, I ducked my head to save my head from Samuel's possible blow. I placed my hand on my heart huffing out a breath. Careful. Dogs are better than men.

When my front faced Sein's back, I grabbed his collar and tried my best to divide the both. "Leave me Sofia!"

"NO! Not until you both stop this." I began to pull his collar and supported myself by placing my leg on one of the cars parked by. In a situation or two, I tried to punch Samuel's face when he inched nearer than recommended.

After putting up an animal fight of a good five minutes, I succeeded in separating them and immediately took a position between them, blocking from reaching each other. "Are you both mad?!"

"He is mad! How dare he try to hit you!" Sein yelled and tried to reach out Samuel but I shoved him back with my palms.

"Look....I very well understand your care for me, but I don't want you to fight my battles, please. And thank you very much." I squeezed him into a hug as a token of gratitude for saving me from the impact of Samuel's attack.

"Always," he whispered and patted my back providing a much needed warmth and sense of reassurance that I could handle this. If Samuel was a bad star in my life, Sein's a good star.

"The wimp is roaring, huh?" I heard the sarcastic tone of Samuel and Sein's body stiffened in my arms. But before he could release me, I tightened my hug and rubbed circles on his back. It already had done the biggest task of the year to cease a great battle, I did not want to engage in yet another peace treaty.

"He's a jerk. Don't bother," I whispered and smiled.

Untangling myself gently, I turned to gaze at my ex-husband. My eye color darkened and an unknown confidence and power surged through my veins."My dear Samuel, first, you are a wimp, not Sein. He very well knows who to trust and protect and take good ones side without hesitancy unlike someone I know." He started to protest but I raised my hand and maintained my poker face. "Next, you can be punished for your unexplainable act of imposing harm to princessa of Spain. And third, when the truth unravels itself, you'd think of how to mask your face from the world. NO WORDS ANYMORE FROM YOU!"

I made it clear using my vehement voice to cease any words of defense in his mouth itself. His eyes widened a fraction and his lips parted in an almost unnoticeable motion. Good, I managed to bring out a small expression and emotion of my strength. I did not grow free time for unnecessary arguments from this man. God, why did he have to make a deal with Spain? And his unacceptable behavior and words just increased my level of revenge plans.

"Come." I grabbed Sein's hand and dragged him into the café leaving a wide eyed Samuel behind. I guess he did not expect my voice to come out strong. He definitely belittled me in his brain.

Supposedly, this day was meant for enjoyment all the way long, but every trace of happiness washed away due to the same man, again.

I flatten my costume and brush my hands through hair to make the tangled mess presentable and undoubtful. I glanced at Sein who was whistling casually while I cleaned myself. How could he whistle at such situation? But his hair and attire was a complete no-no. I just turned to him and started setting his t shirt.

"What-"

"Shh" I cut him off and stood on tip toes to set his unruly blonde hair. Suddenly, a deep hot breath fanned my face. I down-casted my gaze a little in annoyance and was shell shocked at our positions. Way to put ourselves in awkward positions.

"Nothing happened." I huffed out and walked off.

"Hey! Old man!" I jumped into the awaiting arms of old man and had given a nod of acknowledgement to Mr. Martinez before crashing him in my arms as well. My insides relaxed at their faces. My family for the past four years.

"Sorry, I couldn't visit you." I engulfed the girls tightly and mumbled a promise of visiting them monthly a twice or thrice. A whiff of delicious food, definitely cooked by old man, entered my nostrils.

"Ah, the aroma." I rotated in the direction of mouth watering smell and saw my little boy in the hat of chef and a plate in hand. It contained something I couldn't quite recognize, or perhaps a new experiment from old man. I looked up and questioned him with my eyes and he pointed at Sein.

Sein? What does he have to do with this?

I furrowed my eyebrows once again and send him weird questioning signals.

"He prepared it. Taste and say," he mouthed and I slowly peek in Sein's direction through my eyelashes. He was talking with someone who looked no more than twenty five with brunette hair and electric green eyes. Both seemed to enjoy the current conversation they were engrossed in.

A tinge of irritation developed inside me at the scene and I muttered a few words in sheer annoyance. Maybe, this was because he did not comply my words, earlier? I brushed off the fact and enjoyed my possible free time which was about to end.
