Chapter 756
Lord Protector Novel
Upon learning how high the stakes actually were, Draco didnât have the guts to make anymore suggestions. âEr...Mr. Quin, I think itâs best if you had a talk with that guy.â
âIf there isnât anything else, Iâll take my leave first.â
Draco was a very smart man. He knew that it was best if he was kept in the dark about who that person was.
Otherwise, he might bring a whole lot of trouble upon himself.
After Draco left, Mr. Quin picked up his phone with shaky hands and made a call.
It wasnât long before the call went through. âHow have you been, Boss?â Mr. Quin fawned.
The Bossâ voice was cold and icy. âHmph, Iâve been waiting for this call for quite some time now, Quin.â
Mr. Quin could feel his heart starting to beat wildly. âYou know why Iâm calling you, Boss?â
âIf Iâm right, youâre calling about Zeke Williams, arenât you?â
âIn that case, everything has been arranged by you?â Mr. Quin asked.
âThatâs right,â the Boss replied.
âThatâs very kind of you,â Mr. Quin said respectfully.
âQuin,â the Boss said, âTell me the truth. Did you think that I was using you to take on Williams?â
âNo, of course not!â Mr. Quin denied hastily.
Even though deep down, he was cursing the Boss and his family, he certainly didnât have the guts to let it show.
After all, his head was on the line and he had no intentions of offending the Boss.
âThatâs good,â the Boss replied.
âTo tell you the truth, Quin, Iâm doing this for your own good as well.â
What f***ing good has this done me? Mr Quin cursed silently.
I lost 10 billion and my control over the underworld forces! Was that for my own good?
âThank you so much for looking out for me, Boss,â he said âgratuitouslyâ.
âBut Boss, could you indicate to me as to how this is good for me?â
âDo you still remember Paul Hunt from Queenstown?â
âOf course I do. Heâs your arch enemy.â
âHe dug up some dirt on both of us back then in Queenstown.â
âIn order to stop him from telling anyone what he had found, you instructed John to cast a curse on him and turn him into a vegetable.â
âWhy did you bring him up again all of a sudden?â
âWell, Williams is well versed in the practice of voodoo. Thereâs a very high chance that he has save Paul Hunt.â
âWhat?â Mr. Quin exclaimed as a shiver crept down his spine. âThereâs a chance that Paul Hunt can be saved?â
âDamn it! If he really wakes up and reveals the results of the investigation all those years ago, you and I will be in hot soup.â
âThatâs why I wanted you to help eliminate Williams. In a way, itâs for your own good.â
Mr. Quin nodded his head profusely. âThank you for educating me, Boss.â
âYou can rest assured. Iâll see to it that Williams doesnât live for long.â
âUgh,â Boss sighed, âJudging by how things look, Iâm afraid that even you might not prove to be a match for Williams.â
âRemember this, even if you canât eliminate Williams, you must make sure that Eastend doesnât fall into his hands.â
âAfter all, Eastend connects both Rivermouth and Atheville. If Eastend were to fall into his hands as well, he might become a threat to Atheville!â
âAtheville is my home turf. If he were to set foot here, getting rid of him will not be an easy feat.â
âYou wonât have to worry about a thing, Boss,â Mr. Quin assured him, âI will do everything I can to eliminate him.â
âHmph. Iâve already sent John to assassinate Paul Hunt. I hope he wonât disappoint me.â
After hanging up, Mr. Quin hastily made another call to Sim Owens.
Sim Owens was the leader amongst the three of Mr. Quinâs most trusted subordinates. His status was even higher than Gavin Zacharyâs and Reuben Mackâs. Thus, he was the one who decided who got to live and who didnât.
His team consisted of the most skilled assassins throughout Eurasia. Some of them were just a step away from becoming a Master.
The funds required to keep this team going were more than 10 million every year.
