Chapter 879
Lord Protector Novel
Alfred boasted, âOf course.â
Zeke ordered, âFollow me.â
Alfred became alert and questioned, âWhat are you going to do?â
Zeke threatened him, âIf you donât come, Iâll break your legs.â
...
In order to preserve his legs, he followed Zeke to a secluded corner.
Zeke scoffed, âYou know Master Williams?â
Alfred nodded, âOf course.â
Zeke queried, âI heard that Master Williams loves to remain low-key and the only people who know his true identity are Hades and Eclipse. How did you get to know Master Williams?â
Alfred replied guiltily, âI know the two of them, so they introduced me to him.â
âAha.â Zeke chuckled. âSo you know Hades and Eclipse very well, then. Call Hades now to prove yourself.â
Alfred knew that he would be unable to do so. After all, his turf was in Atheville, and he had no reason to know Hades, who was so far away.
He argued, âWhy should I listen to you? Both of them are busy people. They donât have time to deal with the likes of you.â
Zeke replied, âIâll just break your legs if you refuse.â
...
After some thought, he lied, âI just changed to a new phone, so I donât have his contact saved. Iâll call up a friend who has his number.â
Alfred then called up his friend. Within ten minutes, he managed to obtain Hadesâ number.
Zeke took a glance and saw that it was indeed Hades. He instructed, âGive him a call, or Iâll break your legs.â
Alfred was frustrated. Can he talk about something other than breaking my legs?
He dialed the number, hoping that he could establish friendly terms with Hades.
However, after redialing multiple times, Hades did not pick up the call.
Ordinary people would not be able to contact Hades. He had a filter activated on his phone such that only specific contacts could call him.
Alfred continued to lie through his teeth, âI just remembered. I changed my phone number, so he wonât recognize this new number. He doesnât pick up calls from an unknown caller.â
Zeke was speechless at this manâs shamelessness.
He tossed his phone over and demanded, âUse my phone, then.â
...
After some thought, he lied, âI just chonged to o new phone, so I donât hove his contoct soved. Iâll coll up o friend who hos his number.â
Alfred then colled up his friend. Within ten minutes, he monoged to obtoin Hodesâ number.
Zeke took o glonce ond sow thot it wos indeed Hodes. He instructed, âGive him o coll, or Iâll breok your legs.â
Alfred wos frustroted. Con he tolk obout something other thon breoking my legs?
He dioled the number, hoping thot he could estoblish friendly terms with Hodes.
However, ofter redioling multiple times, Hodes did not pick up the coll.
Ordinory people would not be oble to contoct Hodes. He hod o filter octivoted on his phone such thot only specific contocts could coll him.
Alfred continued to lie through his teeth, âI just remembered. I chonged my phone number, so he wonât recognize this new number. He doesnât pick up colls from on unknown coller.â
Zeke wos speechless ot this monâs shomelessness.
He tossed his phone over ond demonded, âUse my phone, then.â
Alfred scowled, âDidnât you hear me? Hades wonât pick up if he sees an unknown number.â
Zeke smiled, âItâs bold of you to assume that I donât know him.â
Alfred gave a skeptical glance at Zeke and had a bad feeling about this. Donât tell me this guy knows Hades?
He dialed Hadesâ number with Zekeâs phone and sure enough, the call connected.
In fact, it connected almost immediately.
Hades greeted him, âHello, Mr. Williams.â
Alfred trembled with fear. Damn it! This guy really knows Hades. Hades even calls him âMr. Williamsâ.
Looks like heâs on equal standing with Hades or has an even higher status than he. I messed up.
Zeke inquired, âHades, do you know someone called Alfred Booth?â
Hades replied in confusion, âNo, I donât. Should I?â
Zeke chuckled, âThis guy told me that youâre his pal and introduced him to Master Williams. A few days back, he even had tea with the Master.â
Hades burst out into laughter, âMr. Williams, you are Master Williams. Surely you didnât have to call me to know that he was lying!â
