Chapter 25: Dominic’s order "Oh, now that’s something we can talk about." Nathan spoke up with a thoughtful look on his face as he thought over if he should discuss the thing about Athena with him or not.

"What is it?"

Dominic asked in a blank tone as he looked at Nathan with a serious look on her face.

"I…uhh… it’s no…nothing…"

Nathan hesitated as he was confused about if it would be appropriate to share it with Dominic.

"You forgot to block your mind while thinking, Nathan." Dominic spoke up in an icy cold tone, making Nathan shocked.

"What?!"

Nathan exclaimed as he wasn’t prepared for it now.

He would have to share it all if Dominic uses his alpha power and commands him, he won’t be able to refuse it.

"What are you thinking about that woman? Tell me what it is!"

Dominic demanded while trying to control his anger which was rising up.

This anger wasn’t because he heard Athena’s name.

It was because he heard Athena’s name in Nathan’s mind.

He didn‘t like it.

Even the thought of any men near her started to bother him nowadays.

What the hell is wrong with him!

"If you really want to know about it, first you have to answer one of my questions."

He knew how impulsive his friend can be when he is angry and the topic rogue triggers him to "What is it?"

Dominic let out a small growl of impatience.

"What do you feel about Athena?" Nathan asked with a frown as he looked at Dominic and waited for him to answer.

"What do you mean?" Dominic asked in confusion and a little bit of shock as he wasn’t prepared for this question.

"The question was simple, Dominic.What do you feel about her?" Nathan stated in an emotionless tone.

"I feel only hatred.Nothing else.Why are you even asking? Isn‘t that obvious?" Dominic answered with a frown but he wasn‘t looking at Nathan as he spoke up.

Nathan noticed that "That’s why I am asking.Your hatred toward her is too obvious.It almost looks as if it’s not about your revenge.It looks like something else.What‘s going on? Would you tell me that?" Nathan asked with a frown.

He wasn’t blind.He sees things.He isn’t the beta of the pack for no reason.

And he knew something was going on with his alpha aka best friend.He is on the edge way too much nowadays.

"If you don’t want to tell me what it is, you don’t have to.I don’t want to hear.You can leave.Don’t irritate me more."

Dominic snapped before taking the file back in his hand as he started t o flip the pages again.

"Okay, fine.Stop being grumpy.I will tell you.But you have to promise that you won’t freak out."

Nathan let out a sigh as he gave up at last.

"Just tell me already."Dominic snapped.

"Okay, fine.You were right, it was about Athena.I found out some interesting facts about her today morning from Suzanne.And I think you should know about it."

Nathan started.

"What facts? Is it about who’s father of Ace? Or her second chance mate? Tell me about the danger you were talking about."Dominic asked in a little bit of a desperate manner and it surprised Nathan but what surprised him more was his question.

"Her second chance mate? She has a second chance mate? What happened to her first mate and how do you know about it?"Nathan asked in confusion.

Dominic looked at him with widened eyes when he realised that he messed up.

"I uhh… she told me that her first mate rejected her.And Ace was from her second chance mate.So, I was wondering if it was about that or not."

Dominic slowly said while looking around.

Nathan still had questions but he didn’t ask that.

"No, it wasn’t about that.It was about what happened in her previous pack.You see, Derrick had a stupid rules where they punish those who have child without mate.But guess what saved her?"

Nathan asked with a sigh.

"What?" Dominic asked with a frown.

"Suzanne’s one lie.But it wasn’t a lie as well.A lie mixed with truth."

"What is it?"

"She said that Athena was the daughter of a very powerful alpha from where she ran away.So, if Derrick tries to hurt her, Suzanne will tell ‘Athena’s father’ and that shit scared Derrick" Nathan said.

"How did he believe that?"

Dominic asked because it was such a big fat lie which was clear as daylight.

There’s no way it is possible that she was a daughter of an alpha.She is a rogue.She can be nothing else.

"Because there’s something about Athena that made him believe that was true and that it–..."

Nathan took a deep breath as he still couldn‘t believe it.

"She has special blood which Derrick got smelt.Suzanne said that she has powerful blood in her."

After letting out another sigh, Nathan started to explain to him the things he found out through Suzanne.

All the while he was trying to read Dominic’s face.

Because it was such a big thing.He at least expected a surprise expression on his face.

Because a rogue having powerful blood is actually something surprising.

But Dominic didn’t let out any expression until the last time.He sighed once again.

Dominic‘s order "So, what do you think?"

Nathan asked with raised eyebrows but Dominic’s expression was cold.

"Nothing, go and make preparations for the big party tomorrow.I don’t want any mistakes tomorrow."

Ordering that Dominic got up from the chair and left the room, leaving a confused Nathan behind.
