Chapter 31: Her tired self "Athena! What are you still doing? And why aren’t you ready yet?!"

Suzanne exclaimed in shock, her tone lacked patience.She looked worried yet a little angry seeing her best friend.

"Uh..I don’t think it’s a good idea for a maid like me to join the party …"Athena tried to give reasons but Suzanne wasn’t going to have it.

"Shut up.Don’t anger me, Athy! And go and get ready.You have only five minutes to get ready."

Suzanne said in a threatening tone.

Athena shook her head at her and let out a sigh.

"First of all, it’s only six in the afternoon and the party starts at eight in the evening.If I wanted to go, I would have had infinite time to do that.And secondly I really don’t think it’s going to be right for me to go.Also, who is going to take care of Ace if I go to a damn party I don’t have any connection and interest in?" Athena scowled.

She suddenly got irritated, as if even the thought of that party angered her.

‘Why are you getting so annoyed?’ she heard her wolf’s tired and almost defeated voice.

She immediately felt that tiredness flow through her body, making her tired as well.

At that moment, she knew that it was just the start.

She still has to face a lot as the day goes short slowly.

She could feel all that coming to crash her.

But can she do anything about it? Nothing! And it was affecting her wolf more than it was affecting her..

‘Stop talking and save energy!’ She snapped at her wolf in her mind before concentrating back at her confused friends.

"Oh, my! Athena! Don’t tell me you didn’t buy a dress for the party! Oh my! We need to think of something fast! Let me think if I have something which you can wear."

Patricia exclaimed and started to freak out thinking about what Athena would wear.

"Seriously, Patricia? You think that’s the issue that’s worrying me? That’s the least thing that I could care least about."

Athena scoffed, she was getting irritated too easily.

"Then what’s the issue that’s worrying you? Ace? Are you worried about who is going to take care of him?"

Suzanne asked with a frown and Athena immediately nodded at her.

"Yes.No matter what, I can’t leave him alone here, nor can I leave him in the hands of some caretakers.So, that means I am not going anywhere.I am fine here with my son.Let us enjoy each other’s presence."

Athena said in a stubborn tone while looking outside the window, at the forest which was getting dark as the sun started to set back slowly.

At that moment she knew what was going to be her partner in misery today.

The forest.

The forest always fascinated her beyond imagination.

It’s been her best friend, partner and an all-time place to hide from anything and everything.

May that be pain or danger.

The forest witnessed it all.

And the same thing is going to happen today.

It’s going to witness another part of her life today.

"Don’t worry about that, Athena.Ace is going to join us in the party as well."

Suzanne gave her the shocking piece of information which pulled her out of her thoughts.

"What?! No, he is not!" Athena exclaimed in shock and anger.

"No way in hell my son is going to attend that party."

She shouted with a deep frown, getting defensive.

What’s wrong with you today? Why are you getting so hyped up for no reason?"

Suzanne asked with a frown.She has never seen her act like this unless she was in her… heat!

"Are you on your heat?" She asked with widened eyes.

Her eyes reflected worry as only she knew how much Athena had to suffer whenever she was in her heat.

Goddamn to her heartless mate! If only she knew who it was! She would have taught him a nice lesson for rejecting a girl like Athena! Who can reject someone like her.

"No, I am not in my heat.Don’t worry, It’s just I don’t feel like attending the party." She said with a sigh, her head started to form an ache.

She rubbed her forehead to get rid of that.

“I am sorry, Athena but you don’t have any choice.I just got mindlinked by Justin that Dominic demanded your presence in the party or he will come here and drag you there."

Patricia said with a worried look on her face as Athena looked at her in anger and frustration.

"What the hell?! That’s ridiculous!" She exclaimed.

"Forget it, Athena.You don’t have any option but to go there.So, how about you use the option you have? Go there as the most beautiful girl ever in the party and steal the spotlight." Suzanne said with a smirk, making Patricia chuckle.

"You are right.Suzanne, please make sure to make her ready on time.Justin wanted me in Dominic’s mansion for some reason.I am going there." Patricia said with a smile before turning around to leave.

"Wait, where is Ace?" Athena asked in confusion as he went to play with Justin.

"He is with the guys.Don’t worry.They got him." Suzanne answered her question with a patientful look on her face.

"What do you mean they got him? Where will he stay if we attend the party?" Athena asked with a deep frown.

Not liking what she just heard.

"He will join the party, Athena.Dominic arranged a corner for the pups as well.He also arranged trustable nannies for them and well trained guards will guard them.So don’t worry, please.Please don’t ask any more questions." Suzanne exclaimed with a sigh.

Her best friend can get really irritating if she wants to.

"Wait, wait! If he is going to the party, what is he going to wear? I didn’t buy anything for him."

Athena replied in a sad tone, feeling low that she couldn’t afford a simple attire for her son.

"You don’t worry about that.Nathan and Justin really got him.You just worry about yourself, your look and – your dress.See you girls soon!"

Saying that Patricia walked out of Suzanne and Nathan’s house and walked toward Dominic’s house.She knew that Stacey wasn’t there at that moment which would let her breath freely in there.

Actually if Stacey was there, she doubts if she would have stepped a foot there or not.

Stacey was busy getting ready for the party in an expensive beauty parlour.She entered the mansion with a happy smile.

“Hey, baby! How do I look?"

Patricia asked Justin after giving him a small twirl to show how she was looking. She was wearing a beautiful blue gown and wore beautiful makeup.

She styled her hair with curlers as well.She was looking very beautiful.

"You look very beautiful as well as stressed.What’s wrong, baby?" Justin asked with a frown.

Everyone present in the room looked at her, hearing him.

There were Dominic, Ace and Nathan.

Ace was lost in his world of video games.

"It’s nothing, baby, I guess Athena’s restlessness got into me as well." She said with a chuckle.

“Why is she restless?" Dominic asked in an altered tone, Everyone then diverted their concentration at him.

"Well, we don’t know… she just looked weak, bothered and very restless.She was very annoyed easily as well.We don’t know what’s wrong.But I guess she will be okay soon." Patricia said with a small smile.

But before anyone could say something, the little munchkin spoke up in excitement.

"I want to go to mommy and show her how I look!"
