Chapter 37: Sinister laugh "A…accept his… rejection? Is…is that it?" Athena asked in shock and disbelief.

"Yes, my love.That is it.Just accept his rejection.I don’t remember you telling me that you accepted his rejection, did you?" Irene asked with a raised eyebrow and Athena felt more confused as she clearly remembered what had happened that night.

A lot happened that day and accepting his rejection was definitely not one of them.

She was in a too fucked up situation to worry about that.

She was in unbearable pain and at the same time she was busy making him feel the same pain as well.

So, that was the least of her worries at that moment! But it was so easy?! How couldn’t she think of this before? "No, I didn’t accept his rejection.Because I didn’t think that was necessary.I thought he rejected me and that puts an end to the story."

She said in confusion.

"Well, that’s not how mate bonds work, sweety.Your moon goddess gave power to both sides in the relationship.It won’t end until you both want that."

She explained.

"No wonder you are a rogue.You didn’t attend any schools, did you?" Irene asked with a roll of her eyes.

Athena glared at her.

"Yeah, not everyone is lucky to be born as an alpha’s daughter."Athena rolled her eyes back at her."

Do you mean, I still have power in this relationship? I mean, if I want him as my mate, will he be forced to be my mate? I don’t think I made sense."

Athena said with a frown as she tried to understand what she wanted to know.

"You are right.You don’t make sense.I didn’t understand what you meant.You can’t just force a person to mate you just like he can’t mate you forcefully or reject you by his wish but wanna know a fun fact?"Irene asked with a smirk.

Athena looked at her in confusion.

"What is it?"She asked with a small frown.

"If you want, you can go there and claim your position as the Luna.He or anyone won’t be able to stop you from doing so.No one has that power to stop you from taking up that crown as their Luna.They will be forced to obey your orders.Ain’t that awesome?"Irene asked with an evil smirk.

Athena looked at her with widened eyes.

"What are you saying?! Me and their Luna? Is that even possible when their alpha doesn’t accept me as his mate and Luna?"Athena asked with a frown of confusion.

"Normally, I don’t think it’s possible.But there is something different in you which I have always noticed and I don’t think you realised that ever."Irene said with a smile while looking at Athena deep in her eyes.

"I don’t understand what you are talking about.What’s wrong with me? What’s different about me? I am confus….Aahhh"

Athena exclaimed and let out a howl in pain and dropped to the drowning while holding her heart.

Irene immediately sat down beside her as well with a worried look on her face.

"Athena! Are you okay?"She asked while holding her.

"It is ha…happening, It ought to ha ..happen.J…just tell me what you were saying about me? Te…tell me… I want to know…know.."

Athena breathed those words out with a lot of difficulty.

"That can wait, Athena.You can know about that later.At this moment, you need to decide what you want.Tell me, do you want to accept his rejection and destroy every possible relationship with him and his pack or be the badass that you are and go claim your right?"

Irene asked in urgency while holding Athena’s rapidly growing weak body.

Athena smiled sadly while whimpering in pain.

"I might be a hopeless rogue with no identity but I am someone with dignity.I am not cheap, Irene.I am not wanted there.So, I am definitely not going to claim something which is not mine even though it belongs to me.So, I will just accept his rejection and get over it."

Athena said while breathing hard.

She could feel him touching Stacey and that’s what made her skin burn.She doesn’t like it.She hates it.She was trembling in pain and a sudden anger was surging through her veins.

"Your state is getting worse, Athena! Damn it! You need to go and get there as soon as possible."Irene said in a serious tone.

She was someone who rarely takes things seriously but when she does, it’s really serious.

"I… I… Know… But how…I… can’t get up… I feel so weak..I can’t wake up… What am I going to do now?"

Athena cried out loud as she felt pain all over her body.

She was feeling as if someone was cutting her with a sharp knife.

"P….please make it stop.Make it stop.I can’t bear it."

She shouted in pain.

"I wish I could do that, hun.Only acceptance of rejection or your mate can help you.No one else can do that.Can you shift to your wolf form?"She asked while making Athena stand up with a lot of difficulty.

"No, we are too weak to shift."

Athena told her while trying to connect with her wolf who was completely silent and unresponsive "Now, we don’t have any other way then."

Irene said with a serious look on her face, confusing Athena..

– "What..what is that?"She asked with difficulty.

"I will have to use my power to get you there."Irene said with determination but Athena’s eyes widened as soon as she heard that.

"No! That’s too dangerous for you as well as me.I can’t drag you into danger because of me."

Athena showed opposition immediately while standing with a lot of difficulty.

"Don’t worry, I will be following you from far and I will be invisible.So, you don’t have to worry about me.Now keep standing."

Irene ordered and took a few steps away from her.

Within a blink of an eye she disappeared with the air.

At the same time Athena felt her body getting light.

Irene already started her magic.

"I have to get there fast.The ritual is about to start any moment now."

She groaned as she suddenly started to move forward on her own.

But she hardly took any steps when a sinister laugh was heard from her back, passing a chill through her body as she recognised the voice immediately.

"What’s the hurry, my maid?"
