Bulk Buying

Xavier looks at his brother Gerald, who is driving their own cow carriage and his soon-to-be sister-in-law.

"Arent you two busy with the wedding preparation? How come you will still come with me?" He asks.

Arianne smiles.

"I want to help out in your business and also.." she blushes. " Almost everything is ready, mother even asks a famous seamstress in town to make mine and Gerald wedding attire. Aun--Mother-in-law and Mom are also leading the preparation in our wedding. Dad and Father-in-law also invited the whole village to the occassion. There is nothing more to do."

Xavier can't believe it. Is it really so easy to finalize everything? Well he can only nod his head.

Today, not only tea and sugar, he also have pen of different brands and lighter to sell today.

His items are so random so he thought he is in the road of general merchandising but it seems his siblings doesnt like it too much. Still he think if they have different businesses its be better than a bad one.

When they arrive the second location they choose before is occupied too.

Xavier raised a brow since it feels like its too much coincidence already.

Xavier sighs.

"It seems its just a matter of time before we need to have our own store of all the space in the street will be occupied."

Gerald also nod.

"These people, seeing us having lots of customers they feel jealous and wanted us to go down with them."

"Gerald." Arianne worriedly said.

Xavier chuckles.

"Let them be. Anyways brother start the fire to boil water. Since boiled water can damage the hand, Sister-in-law, you will be the one receiving the money instead to avoid accident of ruining your hand."

"That....I will be cateful." Arianne said. She doesnt want them to think she is delicate woman.

"Its fine. Just listen to third brother.

Xavier puts the cloth down and line up his items.

2 rows of 3 sets of tea and 2 rows of brown and white sugar, 3 brands of pen and 1 box of automatic plastic lighter where you can just press it to light it.

He put the price on each row of item. The tea are same for 300 copper bits/3 copper, sugar(white and brown) for 400 copper bits. The pen is very expensive for 800 copper bits/8copper since the target buyer are limited to the literate people and lastly, a high way robbery, 1 silver coin or 1thousand (PHP) for one lighter.

Xavier is confident his items price are reasonable enough.

His usual customers arrived as usual.

The three chatter box noble butlers are Xavier's favorite customers because they made fuss so much that attracts other people and they are also good at promoting his products.

Today the three butlers came to buy some tea leaves and paused at the two new items.

"A pen?"

Xavier takes his pen and show them how it works.

They are very amazed how this thin convenient tool can easily write smaller note and its ink is not splatteting anywhere.

Xavier explains it can still happen when the pen was stored in correctly.

"This lighter is too expensive for something so small." The butler said.

"This is lighter." Xavier said and flick.

"The fire can be adjusted from low to high with this small pushing button. See? You can use it until the gas, this transparent liquid inside, is finished."

The butlers all feel the lighter is amazing. Its light and easy to use unlike matches.

"Oh, if it got wet,it might not work again so be careful." Xavier smiles.

He only bought the cheapest lighter that you can buy for 10 pesos on the road.

"I'll buy all of this!" The chubby butler,Hank shouted.

"Wait what?" The two butler glares at him.

Hoarding is something they do to show superiority but they still know the bottom line.

This new items, lighter and ballpen are all very noble that will amaze their masters more than any gem in the store right now. How would they not feel anger for this chubby butler?

Butler Arwin and Butler Reg glare makes Butler Hank shrink a bit. But those lighters are needed. Today his young master brought friends from school and they all looking for noble things to entertain themselves. He is out of things to show and might disatisfied his young master.

He insist of buying everything.

"It's fine. It's fine. I have plenty." Xavier merrily smiles. "I have atleast 20 boxes of lighter and 30 boxes of ballpens! No need to worry!" He happily claps his hands.

He really likes the three butlers. Whether they need that many ballpen and lighter, he doesn't care.

"Oh! Then I will buy 1 box of lighter and 1 box of these pen." Butler Arwin said too.

"Same. Same." Butler Reg chuckles.

There are 25 pcs of ballpens in one box.

There are 25 pcs of lighter in one box too.

"Actually... I have an item better than this lighter but I don't dare show in public." Xavier scratches his head. "It's because you three are my loyal customer that I want to show it to you."

Butler Arwin smiles. This mysterious way of saying things, isn't it obvious that he want to show something ordinary people can't buy?

The three got excited.

"Show it to us then."

Xavier looks at his brother.

"Brother, can you look at the product first? I'll just show them something in the cow carriage."

Gerald nods.

But he feels a bit worried.

He doesn't know what his brother is scheming.

Xavier wants to laugh at his brother cautious glance.

When they arrive in back of the carriage. Xavier grabs a box of lighter. This time its a colorful transparent lighter that look bulkier than the first lighter.

"1 Gold per 1 lighter." He said softly.

"1 Gold!" The three is really shocked. Who would buy something so expensive?

And the other lighter is only 1 Silver. Though the design is really prettier than the other plain ones. It's still price so expensively!

"Young man, don't you think your price is too high?" Butler Arwin frowns.

Xavier shows them something that shock them even the price. Xavier let the carriage cover down making the inside of the carriage dark.

Clicking the lighter goes off a small but strong light.

"!!!!!"

Xavier turn the lighter's light off.

He knows.

There is no electricity yet in this world.

No flashlight.

This small lighter with a small flashlight built -in.... isn't it worth 10 thousand pesos? Xavier wants to stick his tongue out. The price in the other world is the same with the regular lighter and with the flashlight one. But in that world, small lights like this is nothing. All phones can be use to light a dark alley now, and street lights are everywhere but what about here?

Isn't this more valuable than the flint that auctioned before?

"The light in this lighter will stop working once the battery....umm energy was exhausted but it will take a while depend on how it was used. I told you its a luxury item. If you buy atleast one, I'll let you buy another luxury item, canvass tote bag. Here"

Xavier shows them a lot of colorful totebag design. Those are really expensive compare to the other items. Atleast these totebags are worth three digits.

"This is made out of finest material. I never seen one before." Butler Arwin covets all the design. He looks at Xavier. This strange man who keeps showing them strange things one after another.

Xavier just thought of buying simple eco bag to put all the heavy tea bottles inside if someone bought a lot of items.

But when he shows it to his sister and mother they all look very happy and use the colorful eco bag like an expensive bags and walk happily around the house. He feels so bad he bought expensive bags for the two ladies in the house that day. But ofcourse, he realized that bags like eco bag, that he didn't find any attractive is also something noble in this world.

If so, canvass tote bag can be treated as luxury, right?

Xavier feels that he achieved his desired reaction. Then this is his time to tell them the price to discourage them for bulk buying.

"Its 5 go---"

"I'll buy all designs!" The three shouted.

Xavier, who only bought these tote bags online, feels his conscience his hurting but it's because he didn't buy a lot of designs and just bought 8 designs.

'Stupid! I should have bought atleast 20 designs!'
