Chapter 358
Bride Behind The Mask
At those words, Yunaâs heart pounded as if she was facing an imminent threat!
She recalled Freddieâs final warning. If he found out that she was showing favoritism again, she would be driven out of the manor!
Whatâs more, she didnât just show favoritism today, she had hit him!
Seeing the two little devils about to dash into the elevator, Yuna chased after them! Right before the elevator doors closed, she effortlessly scooped them up.
Teresa squirmed and protested, âLet me go! Youâre hurting me!â
Yuna pushed Teresa against the wall roughly, âLittle girl, you better not make me angry. Itâs not a pretty sight when I lose my temper.â
Her tone was gentle, but the stern look in her eyes sent a chill down Teresaâs spine.
Hayes tugged on Yunaâs arm, tears streaming down his face as he pleaded, âDonât⦠donât hurt Teresa⦠pleaseâ¦â
Yuna glared at Hayes fiercely, her heart skipping a beat. She knew better than anyone why Hayes couldnât speak. Years ago, she had done everything in her power to inflict psychological trauma on this mute boy.
And now, just a few days after arriving at the manor, this brat Teresa had him talking! This realization made Yuna dislike Teresa even more.
However, the genuine affection between these two kids could be useful.
She let go of Teresa, turning to Hayes instead, âI wonât hurt her, but will you behave?â
Hayes nodded furiously, his face wet with tears, âI will, I promise!â
Yuna turned back to Teresa, issuing a warning, âHayes is my son, and itâs my right to discipline him. If you try to tell his father, heâll get mad and wonât let you come over again.â Teresa looked at Hayes hesitantly, finally understanding why he was always so cautious.
It must be because his mother hit him! His mother was terrifying!
Teresa was scared, worried she would be next in line for a beating. But she refused to back down, staring at Yuna defiantly, âDoes Hayesâ father know you hit him?â
Damn it! This little bitch sure had a lot of questions! Yuna wanted to cut out her tongue! But for now, she couldnât lay a finger on Teresa. She could threaten her, sure, but this bitch had leverage over her too. So she couldnât make a move!
âOf course he knows!â Yuna asserted, âWhenever I discipline Hayes, his father is fully aware!â
Teresaâs eyes widened in surprise He knew? That was impossible! Teresa didnât believe it for a second!
If Havesâ father knew why would they go to such a remote place to bully Hayes? And Hayesâ father was so gentle, he didnât seem like someone who would tolerate child abusel She wanted to stand up for Hayes, but she was too small, there was no way she could fight an adult.
Teresa remembered an old saying, patience is the key to success!
She vowed to stand up for Hayes, but not now.
Seeing Teresaâs frightened expression, Yuna felt satisfied and seized the opportunity to ask, âTeresa, do you know what to do next time?â
âYesâ Teresa nodded, but her eyes were still wide, stubborn and disdainful.
âDo you want to play with Manley?â
Yes.â
At last, Yuna smiled triumphantly like a victor She turned to Manley and commanded, âGo on, Manley. Go play with Teresa.â
At this point, Manley, backed by Yuna, put on a haughty air. He glared at Hayes, then turned to Teresa with a smug look and snorted, âI donât want to play with her today! Maybe next time!â
With that, Manley took Yunaâs hand and strutted out of the underground garage.
